  1. TSR.2

Actually, I just realized the A-5 cockpit would be a good fit for the F-108.... FC
  2. And y'all ain't seen nothin' yet... FC
  3. Well, you could just buy 'The Definitive Edition'... http://www.amazon.com/Twilight-Zone-Complete-Definitive-Collection/dp/B000H5U5EE and this: http://www.amazon.com/Twilight-Zone-Companion-Scott-Zicree/dp/1879505096/ref=pd_bxgy_d_img_b and of course this: http://www.amazon.com/Twilight-Zone-Unlocking-Television-Classic/dp/0970331096/ref=pd_sim_b_3_img Don't make me go all Rod Serling on your ass.... FC
  4. Buccaneer

Easy bud, easy...sometimes ya just gotta grit your teeth and bear it. FC
  5. Neither, which unfortunately makes it harder to implement as the mod will not tell the difference between an F-104 or B-70 in terms of aircraft line up. Realistically, this would be tied to an airfield type, not a specific aircraft or airfield. The best way to implement it would be to tie it with small airfields that only have fighter type aircraft on them. If you can live with 16 aircraft lined up for takeoff on the runway at once, then this mod would work for you. FC
  6. Try more than 2 aircraft but don't change the amount of takeoff slots, and you'll see the issue. FC
  7. Heh, yeah, half the time the mods I come up with are just 'let's see what happens if I do this...'. FC
  8. Well, this is what I've been able to do so far: From the time the first jet got airborne until the last jet broke ground was 10 seconds. Restrictions I have noticed so far include you can either have jets in taxi slots or takeoff slots, but not both. The other restriction is the same as for the Quicker Takeoff Mod...it won't work for large aircraft visually. Also, though the jets do more or less takeoff at the same time, they still don't really takeoff is formation, at least, in tight formation. FC
  9. Well, it definitely won't work for IR missiles. The question is if it would work on radar missiles. What's needed is a definitive test...same aircraft, speed, altitude, etc being engaged by a radar missile and see where the missile hits when the decoy is deployed. FC
  10. Well, in my opinion the F-35, along with most other modern weapon system procurement procedures is burdened by the following: 1) Technology: Making the bleeding edge always takes longer than expected, with bugs to work out. It also always costs more. Also, 'feature creep' tends to be rolled into this...the thinking is over the development cycle, we get the 'what if we add or change this'. This happened during the B-2s development cycle, resulting in a major redesign and delay. You've seen this with modern civilian aircraft as well (A380 and B787). Finally, a lot of time is spent making sure to not repeat mistakes of previous iterations of similar aircraft (think of lessons learned in operations of the F-117 and F-22 being applied to the F-35) 2) Politics: This is the big one I think. Every state (or nation) wants a piece of the action, resulting in a requirements and QC nightmare. In addition, the constant political practice of 'stretching out' the development time on a weapon system to save money in the short term drives me crazy because it ALWAYS drives up cost (and feature creep sneaks in because of this). It's like applying for a loan on a house...the longer the loan period, the more you ultimately pay. 3) Contracts: The USG cannot write a contract to save its life. Contracts should be written to the extent that if certain goals or points cannot be met at certain times, that penalties (such as fines, or reduced cost) should be enforced. There will always be wasted spending somewhere in a program, and sometimes the waste is generated by the very government oversight designed to avoid waste. I can tell you horror stories of the logistics side of the house...how government regulations actually wasted more money and time then if it was simply left up to the organization how to spend its budget. Personally, I like ezlead's idea of the USAF buying the C model, though I'd like the internal gun back. It's much easier to take out the Navy bits...or live with the increased 'beef' which would translate into increased life spans. FC
  11. WOI will run just fine on Vista if patched to Oct 08 level. I keep thinking what TK really needs to say is that SFP1/SFG/WOV/WOE/WOI are not supported to run on Vista/Win7. FC
  12. Okay, this is what I have so far: Lineup Rolling Airborne These are all the same flight, only one ini file was altered. Should work for single missions, both computer generated and custom, as well as campaigns (once the 'start in air' bug is fixed). But there will be some restrictions. I'm going to try to see if there is more I can do. FC
  13. Why Gepard...you sir have just given me an idea...:). And, yea, it works! FC
  14. How you are you going to do that for the serial number? You still need decals for that. And you still need to create a Decals.ini file and remove the relevant entries. The fastest way would be to extract the decals.ini file for one of the SF2 stock A-4s and put in into the directory of the textures you are using. That should have the proper position information you need. FC
  15. I don't know if it's for anything really. I know that ReferenceSpan is used for parking assignments. FC
  16. Sure, Check out the Super Hornet to get an idea of what it looks like in action. If you're still interested, let me know and I'll send you the MAX file. FC
  17. These pictures are too far away to determine fit and finish. You pretty much have to be standing next to the aircraft to determine that. Secondly, they are obviously VERY early in the test program being that there is one aircraft, its preflights take forever, and its flying pictures all show it with gear down. FC
  18. Did you resize the jpg files to the same size as the rest of the stock menu screens? FC
  19. These two are closest to being finished in terms of what I can do. However, they need skins/decals and FM work. Other INI stuff is complete...including provisions to use MF F-5E cockpit, front or rear seating. Volunteers? PM me if you're interested. FC
  20. All Northrop 2 seaters (except T-38C) have been combined into one download for SF2. http://combatace.com/files/file/11128-northrop-2-seaters-for-sf2-version-20/ Includes: T-38A AT-38B F-5B F-5F Sagheah CF-116D Ya know, maybe I do need to list that in the File Description... FC
  21. Can you upload OFF onto Steam?

Well, that's a bummer, but not unexpected. FC
  22. Can you upload OFF onto Steam?

Steam is a distribution service for games run by Valve software (makers of Half Life) and is a form of DRM. It works similar to Rise of Flight, in that if you are online, it verifies the game before you start it. HOWEVER, it does not have to be online...if you are offline, the game will still play normally (except for multiplayer games, obviously). There are pros and cons for such a system as you can find discussed in other places. The main reason I like Steam is that my account is tied to me, not to a specific computer. So I can play a game on one computer, save my progress, then go to another computer to continue the game from that point, all seamlessly...very useful because I'm on the road a lot. In addition, if you blow up your computer, any Steam games you have can be restored from online backup...simply reinstall the Steam client, login, and choose the games you want restored. Depending on the game, even your save points will be restored. FC
  23. Can you upload OFF onto Steam?

Maybe a better question is if I blow up my computer and want to use Steam on a new computer to get my games back, will NON-Steam games be restored as well (basically turning Steam into an online backup service)? If so, that would be the MONEY! FC
