  1. Welcome to the forums. The external fuel tanks not dropping is intentional...Israeli Vipers were designed that way. The loadout screen issue means that for some reason the hardpoint shouldn't accept the fuel tank, but the loadout.ini is overriding it. You probably have to compare the weapondata entry for the specific tank and the weapon station entry in the data.ini to figure out why it won't normally load. FC
  2. For the first real-world use of it...

It's funny where you find yourself using SABC. Back late last year, we were driving back from Houston when a pickup lost control about 200 feet in front of us and rolled several times. It even got airborne...so I wasn't expecting much left when I got to the driver. Surprisingly though, he was actually intact and awake...he had worn his seat belt (about the only smart thing he had done...we suspected he had been drinking). The only injuries we could see were some cuts on his arm where it was hanging out the window. Anyway, myself and an off duty policeman were able to take care of what we could via SABC...until the local medical response was able to arrive. Glad to hear you still have your skin.... FC
  3. Wild Wild West (Memphis)

This is one of the reasons why 70% of pilots at my job don't actually live in Memphis... FC
  4. That seems like an odd question to ask a prospective employee. I'm surprised if that was a requirement, that they didn't state it up front. Now, coming from the car crazy US, it is unusual to know someone who has never learned to drive (not necessarily not own a car...a lot of city folk I know don't own one because it's a pain to find and keep parking, insurance rates, etc, etc). Before spending the money to buy a car (especially just for the potential of an interview) I would recommend spending it on driving lessons and getting your license. You can always buy a car if you need to...and, although the rules can be different, usually once you get a driving license through the practical test, you don't need to take another practical test when renewing again (usually just a written test). Again, I don't know the rules for the UK, I'm just going by my state's rules. FC
  5. The answer is still no. FC
  6. If the Hellfire variant you are carrying is laser guided, you must have a laser designator, either built into the aircraft data.ini, or a pod. Otherwise, they won't work. FC
  7. Reviewing the Logitech G940

Personally, I think it's a bad idea (a non-moving stick). There's a reason real aircraft use sticks that move, even if only a little. FC
  8. Crazy aircraft form Belarus

Well, it's more or less a biplane with no wingtips and therefore no tip drag. However, the wing ends (for lack of a better word) would be heavy, and not provide much except lateral stability in an odd location. FC
  9. GUNNERS

First, TURN OFF THE CAPS! It's considered yelling in a forum. Second, right now the gunners are hard coded to only go after air targets. You can make missions making 'fake' air targets like ground targets to simulate that... FC
  10. No more PS3 for USAF?

Heh...pretty sure Sony will give the USAF some special dispensation...for a small fee... FC
  11. I would recommend this model instead. http://forum.combatace.com/files/file/8375-fa-18f-super-hornet-new-model-v15/ FC
  12. Kevin, Yes, you can reinstall DX9 with no issues...DirectX is smart enough not to overwrite newer files. FC
  13. Which F-18F...there are 2 of them. FC
  14. I was thinking the same thing...what would you do if you were damaged but your engine was running okay? Simple, pitch out of the fight and run home via the fastest, shortest method (ie a straight line). If your opponent has no missiles...all you have to do is get out of gun range. FC
  15. "It's 2 different models" Sorry, I couldn't help it... FC
  16. Yep...just make a copy of the specific MOD folder and you're good to go. FC
  17. I'd hope so! You're about .9 Mach at that point...a lot of the airframe would already be supersonic! Mach tuck anyone? FC
  18. No worries...but I'll tell ya, I never think in MPH when it comes to aircraft. Knots and NM are just so much easier to use because the math is much simpler, especially when you throw angles into the mix. FC
  19. SEE? I KNEW there was a need for such a thing... I've been trying to incorporate such a thing...but it causes too much weirdness when the aircraft are static... FC
  20. KAW progress?

Things are progressing...a few teasers have been released. Check the screenshot forums. FC
  21. Try it yourself and see what happens. You can either edit the main aircraft ini (say F-51D.INI) to point at a different COCKPIT.INI file (and maybe a different AVIONICS.INI file). Or within the COCKPIT.INI file, type out the path name for the cockpit LOD file. But, you may have to change the path references for all the avionic bitmaps...which may need editing in the AVIONICS.INI and COCKPIT.INI files. Also, if the cockpit you are using has hardpoint indicators, you may end up with strange results if you try to use a common COCKPIT.INI file because the hardpoint (Weapon Station) references may be different for each aircraft. FC
  22. f-4 phantom II air intake

That's not an F-4, it's an F/A-18F Super Hornet. Secondly, can you point out the specific intake and specific 'piece of metal' you are talking about? FC
  23. Fubar512, your malware is cheap...

What USAFMTL forgot to mention is that this guy is so obnoxious that 4 separate sites have banned him... You have to work to get banned like that. FC
  24. Win7 quite honestly is what Vista should have been. I can count literally on one hand the number of applications that run in XP that I cannot get to run in Win7 64-bit. (Jane's F-15, Interstate 76, BattleZone) It's fast and stable, yet runs darn near everything designed for Win95 or later. FC
