  1. Popular AVIATION movies you've watched and liked!

We are forgetting Dr Strangelove! And speaking about popcorn films, I'll take Final Countdown or Firefox over Top Gun everyday...
  2. There is a second oct beta patch downloadable in the same thread that the old one. It works perfectly in my system.
  3. Popular AVIATION movies you've watched and liked!

(Ready to take a lot of Flak) I keep surprised why Top Gun is so popular. The F-14 is a cool plane, but Top Gun is a very bad movie in the same league as Pearl Harbor. At least Iron Eagle was funny in a "as bad that is also good" way.
  4. The Anatra DS is here

Wow, you are right! The Yugoslavian one is pretty!
  5. Anatra DS in progress

Do you know where were used the Austrian ones? Only in Eastern Front, or maybe Italy?
  6. Direct Flak Hit

In fact, in Italian Front it's very common. You have large formations of Caproni flying slowly and straight. They are big flak targets!
  7. Any year from 50's or 60's. Missiles are for girls! :fu: I'm an old fashioned boy who loves gun kills.
  8. No problem with interface either, but a lot of stuttering since September patch.
  9. For me the name is SF2:Stuttering now...
  10. Well, I'm having a lot of stuttering since September patch. It seems to be equal with new patch....
  11. The Voisin LAS is here

One easy way to have both versions in your install: Make a copy of the Voisin3 folder and rename it VoisinLAS. Install it properly for FE1 or FE2. After that, go to the Voisin3 folder. Open with Notepad the Voisin3.INI file. Change these lines AircraftFullName=Voisin LAS AircraftShortName=Voisin LAS to AircraftFullName=Voisin III AircraftShortName=Voisin III. Choose for this aircraft the 120 Hp FM. Edit the Loadouts file to your taste (light to medium bombs recommended). Return to the VoisinLAS folder. Rename the Voisin3.ini to VoisinLAS.ini. Choose the 150Hp FM. And Voilà! Two planes for the price of one!
  12. The Voisin LAS is here

Err....in fact there is an FM with 120Hp and another of 150Hp, my friend. Now I'm going to download this beauty!!!
  13. I'd like someone that finishes the MiG-21 pack, Chiefatain, Challenger and true Leopard 2 tanks. Oh, and the coming of the Korea and Indo-Pak mods (yes, I know, it's done when it's done).
  14. Voisin LAS in progress

Another (a little radical) solution is to model a new pilot without legs. Same for problems with the gunner.
  15. Voisin LAS in progress

Hello, Lima! Well, I have no idea of 3D modelling, only a thing or two about data.ini tweaking. BEs are A-Team planes, so posting or moddiffying the LODS out of their site or without permission are out of question. They are nice people. You can go to their site and request for the changes, or maybe you can make the new cowling and add to the plane by the "Fake pilot" method (it's explained in the knoweledge base for SF1 series I think). Then, post it without posting the Dev A-Team lods and you'll be fine.
  16. Voisin LAS in progress

Hello, Stephen! have you tried to raise a little the pilot position in the DATA.ini instead to build a bulge in the plane? Some 3rd party planes have the sme problem (Bristol Scouts, BE-2D...). I have solved the problem in these planes this way. No need to moddiffy the 3D model. For example, for the BE-2D, we had: [Pilot] SystemType=PILOT_COCKPIT PilotModelName=wwiPilotNew1 SeatID=1 SetCockpitPosition=TRUE Position=0.00,0.419,0.942 MinExtentPosition=-0.45,1.8,0.0 MaxExtentPosition= 0.45,1.0,1.2 CanopyNodeName=Seat_F And I have now (look at the Position line): [Pilot] SystemType=PILOT_COCKPIT PilotModelName=wwiPilotNew1 SeatID=1 SetCockpitPosition=TRUE Position=0.00,0.419,0.978 MinExtentPosition=-0.45,1.8,0.0 MaxExtentPosition= 0.45,1.0,1.2 CanopyNodeName=Seat_F I hope this can be of some help!
  17. So maybe it's time to substitute the Tornado in Red Lighting campaign and put Buccaneer instead!
  18. Voisin LAS in progress

Balloon hunting? I have a little advise. There is a little limitation in the game engine: balloons are classified as ground targets instead air targets, and gunners doesn't fire against ground targets (a TK's jet sims heritage). So I suggest to add a light bombload against balloons, so you can dive bomb them, or maybe Le Prieur rockets, I'm not sure if these options are historically accurate, but in WWI there were a hugue lot of fiel mods so...
  19. I have an idea: Wrench, you must start to model a pony, and then TK will release an official DLC pony for good ol' Dave!
  20. Voisin LAS in progress

    Pretty plane!
  21. Flight model question

I have the same problems too, but in FE, the most powerful engines are of 220-230 Hp, so you can take off with some rudder input (very realistic on the other hand). In WWII airplanes there are monsters with 1500-2000 Hp, so the torque is insane (I also tried the Spitfire one). Maybe the MomentOfInertia in the engine Data?
  22. Help with the Voisin III

Sorry, but I can't help vey much. I don't have books about the Voisin and the data available is contradictory, but it's a 120 Hp pusher, and we have in game the Farman MF 11, a 100 Hp pusher. Wikipedia (yes, I know, I know, I must investigate more....)says the Farman carried 18 7.3Kg (16 lb bombs) (in game 12 90 mm bombs, because we haven't 16lb bombs). So 300 lbs doesn't seem very unrealistic at first sight.
  23. Anybody Watching "Star Trek Voyager?"

Yes, Wrench. The man wrote The City on the Edge of Forever episode (moddified by Roddenberry, but that's a long story). A lot of Science Fiction writters from the era (and it was THE ERA of Science Fiction writters) made screenplays in first season of TOS. Even Ray Bradbury was invited, but refused....
  24. Anybody Watching "Star Trek Voyager?"

Not in TOS my friend, first season is the best, hands down. Screenplay from Harlan Ellison, Theodore Sturgeon and a lot of legendary Science-fiction writers!
  25. Airco DH5 in progress

FM work finished days ago...I hope I have caught the plane feeling... Now is time for more great little details from Stephen. This plane will be great!
