  1. By the way, I think I have discovered the bug in these birds FM: -Go to the fuselage data and go to this line: CD0MachTableData=1.275,1.000,0.991,46.549,48.253 I suggest to change the two last numbers, for example: CD0MachTableData=1.275,1.000,0.991,4.655,4.825 The plane is supersonic now!!! The same bug is in the Yak-25 FM. With my fix, the Yak-25 is faster, but not supersonic (as shoud be). Test this stuff, please, and tell me how works (I'm not a genius about those things). Good flying!!!
  2. I'm enjoying your MiG-23s a lot, (just downloaded the Polish MF), but I'm waiting for the Yaks. I'm planning to play a modded WOE soviet campaign flying bombers (using the NATO Fighters campaigns), and I need these wonderful planes (I and L models for the 1968 campaign) because IL-28 bombers are not very historically correct for this timeframe (in Soviet forces, Polish could use them). A new improved FM would help my survivability too...
  3. Muchas gracias, compañero. Por ahora solo disponemos del Centurion, que fue retirado del servicio con los británicos a finales de los 60. El Chieftain puede ser útil también para campañas en las que intervenga Irán. Saludos desde Madrid.
  4. Very beautiful vehicle. Have you think about modelling some much needed British tanks? Chieftain and Challenger would be wonderful targets....
  5. By the way, I think the model is from Pasko. It's a project announced in Pasko's site. So, please, contact him!
  6. Oh, men! I love early jet combat much more than modern one, so please, contact the model owner and ask permission to release it as beta, or ask him (humbly, of course) to finish the model. PS: pssszzz LOL
  7. Flying a lot the 19S lately, and it's a true UFO in the game (series 1, hard FM settings). It accelerates like nothing. In early 60's nothing can touch you if you are careful. I know it was a very good airplane, but sooooo good??? I have discovered an error in it's data.ini. It is about 600 kg lighter than in real life. I corrected it, but the plane is a monster nevertheless, and very easy to fly. I have read this plane was not very liked by Soviet pilots, because was difficult to fly, so I think the stock FM is not very correct.
  8. I asked this same question to Wrench time ago, and he said the mod will have a .txt file with proper instructions to make the mod working in 1º generation games (missing some features). That's good to me. I like to custom my installs and have 1º generation games only.
  9. A good one would be Star spangled banner or a little from Machine-gun, both by the one and only Jimi Hendrix, or Rescue me, by Fontella Bass, or I'm your captain, by Grand Funk Railroad, or.......etc So many great music in 60's and early 70's!
  10. No problem, Spinners. I have edited in some degree all my Thirdwire installs, so doesnt matters too much... Thank you, Wrench. You are a gentlemen. New planes???? Yummm!!!
  11. No new version for WOE (first generation)? Some among us have old PCs...
  12. Very good idea this project!!! Of course, you have permission to use/modiffy my MiG-15 Fagot A FM if you like. I have in my HD some .INI work (only little touches in weight, engine, etc, because I'm not expert) for some planes as: F-84E, F9F-2, IL-10 with historical payload, etc. I supposse they need some work, because I'm using them in .06 SF1 game, but if you need them, I'll send to you. I know this is very soon to think of, but I suggest to you not to make an only campaign covering all the war. Instead I'd like the war split between smaller campaigns covering different phases and making both sides flyable.
  13. Are you planning to update the 2000C also?
  14. In fact they are simply .INI edits of F-80C y F-84G. I changed the engine, weight and some minor things in F-84G and deleted the weapons in the RF-80C. No graphic changes. You can use the regular F-80C and the F-84G instead. The campaign generate missions normally, but there are a lot of CTD when pressing Esc when the mission is finished. I don't know how to fix it. This is the reason I have posted the campaign this way
  15. Very beautiful plane. Could you build an IL-10 next time, please? Very useful aircraft for WWII and early Cold War (Korea, for example). Thank you!
  16. -First advice: I have made some changes in the .ini files (changing the power of the engines and the weights and adding some armor) of the F-84G and the F9F-5 to make something close to the more underpowered F-84E and F9F-2, both of them more extensively used in Korea. They are new birds, but they use the lods, skins, etc of the previous aircraft (in fact I use the F-84 B/C lod for my F-84E). Is anyone interested in these birds? If so, where I must upload them, as a new aircraft or as a .ini edit? -Second advice: I'm thinking about making a new campaign for my NATO fighters install. It's gonna be an early campaign circa 1952 or 1953 (war starting because an excalation in the Korea war or something like that). I need information about planes available for NATO countries in Germany at the time. The soviets are easier (I think). A mix of MiG-15 and MiG-15bis, IL-28s. some La-15, some MiG-9, a Yak-15 squadron (for fun) and maybe one MiG-17 squadron. What do you think?
  17. Well, I have photos in some books of Es having both canopy types. I supposed that early blocks of E had the old type and then retrofitted, so is more correct to use the G Lods. I was planning not to release the whole plane, only the INI tweaks, and, of course, giving credit to the original creators. Do you think it's OK, or I must await for permission? On the other hand, the first production MiG-17 came out in 1952, and in July 1953 shooted down a RB-50 near Vladivostok. First MiG-17F came operational in 1953, but I was planning to use the A only (because I suppose the F not truely tested for widespread service) I'm trying too to keep out the propellers, to avoid issues with the last game patch (series 1). I know there are some FM tweaks available, but I think it's too much work for users. Until now I have this: -EEUU: F-80C, F-84G, F-86F-30 and F-30FB, maybe some F-94... -UK: Meteor F8, Vampire, maybe Canadair Sabre, Canberra, Venom??? -Denmark: F-84G, Meteor -Norway: F-84G -France: F-84G, Ouragan, Vampire -Netherlands: Meteor, F-84G -Belgium:Meteor? -Canada: Vampire, Sabre -URSS: MiG-15, MiG-15bis, MiG-17, MiG-9, Yak-15, La-15, IL-28 I think it can be very funny to be NATO and being outnumbered and outperformed (excepting Sabres). I'm also curious about the aircraft roles. Would planes as Thunderjets, Ouragans, Vampires and Meteors being used only as air to ground, or also as air to air (giving the lack of Sabres in most nations)?
  18. I agree with you. I don't like very much the FM of some helos, but flying in South Vietnam in your Spad and seeing some helos making a mission next to you rises the inmersion to the top in my book.......If there was a helo war, it was Vietnam. In the current version of Tet I have upped the supplies for the North Vietnamese, and lowered the need of supply for offensive. They are more aggesive now, but came only from the North. I love the smell of Napalm in the morning....
  19. An update to the old Tet Offensive campaign would be good too. This campaign has helicopters!
  20. About the name, how about "Good morning Vietnam", "Apocalypse now" or something like that? We have a lot of good films to inspire us. I'm waiting for the mod, because I have the 1 series game (not 2 yet) modded to death and looking this mod maybe I could better my install! By the way, I use Brain 32 retile, without Green Hell 1 or 2, because my poor computer is about 5 FPS over Hanoi..... I have a Pentium 4 2.8GHZ, with 2 GB RAM and an NVidia 7600 (500 MB RAM) (XP, of course). A little old computer....
  21. Flying as Charlie pilot my 2 worst enemies are the F-105 and the B-52!!!! Not laught at me, please, I'll explain: I can outfly any American fighter in a MiG (well, more or less...), but the Thud, simply push the afterburner, bomb, go for home and....mission failed. End of story. With B-52 is even worst. If I'm in a MiG-21, I fire all my missiles and nothing touch the beast. Then I close and empty my gun, and the B-52 is flying as I'm not here. Again, mission failed. I remember only a B-52 kill since I have WoV. As American, the most deadly is the 19, hands down (specially if you are flying a "no gun F-4") On modern planes, the all aspect missiles is true, it's a game of "who fires first" and nothing more. So, I like much more the earlier planes
  22. In fact the E-3 had 2 mg-17 and 2 mgff, but some early E-3 had a third 20mm in the nose. Most of them were retrofitted with the nose cannon deleted. The gun vibration was the problem.
  23. You can better try Charlie's Aces (more updated MiG-17 FM). Fly the -17 on hard and you'll love the -19 and -21. I like a lot the -17 against fighters, but you simply can't catch the bombers, before they launch (except Spads and A-4's)
  24. In fact there are two bombers advantages: -Most planes have no armor in this series. So, one single bullet touching you, and you are toasted -AI fighter pilots start firing guns at about 500m or less. AI bomber gunners start firing at more than 1500m Second problem is not very important when you have a plane with missiles, but in Korea or WWII is a very serious disadvantage. Much more dangerous work to attack B-29s than Sabers!!!! -My "house solutions": Added armor to all aircraft from this era (propellers and early jets). Much more realistic results. A lot of damaged planes (in both sides) and less shot down Reduced the range of bomber guns to 500m. They are deadly too, but my MiG-15 flight are not wiped out at 1000m without firing a single bullet any more.
  25. By the way, I have tweaked some planes Data.ini, adding armour plate, lowering the gunners range and making new FM's (for example F9F-2, F-84E, Yak-18, IL-10, La-11 and 9, some more accurate than others, I'm not an FM guru). If you like to test some stuff, tell me.
