  1. Into the Blue: OFF & FE2

If you actually read the Armchair Aces readme, you'll know how to add the third party Strutters cockpit to the stock Strutters (British and French). Much better than trhe cockpits you have in the pictures.
  2. I wouldn't touch a lot the AI data, because they are customized for each plane. You know, some planes are better doing the "turn and burn" thing, others are better in the verrtical fight, etc. If you change the AI data and make it the same for all planes, their virtual pilots will try to fly all the planes same way. Maybe some planes need improvement, but if you want a SPAD VII trying to fight the same way that a Sopwith Pup......
  3. Well, it all depends what are you searching for: I like FE2 more, because : -Very good AI, much better than the ROF one (I haven't tried OFF nor WOFF) -A lot of freeware mods, giving this game the best planeset of all, and terrains, sounds, objects....... -In this game you can play the good ol' Western Front, play over North Sea, the Galitzia Front, Italy or Palestine.........also over Gibraltar if you are into the What if thing. -It's easy to make your own mods, campaigns, etc FE2 (or FE) has no tower calls nor radio calls. You have the inflight map (there is a mod somewhere if you think the stock inflight map has too information). You can give orders (hand commands), but you can't hear anything.
  4. Palestine WIP

.....And there's also a WIP Armchair Aces series for this map! You'll fly as British, Australian, German or Turkish pilot.
  5. How stupid can people be?

And why they put the head of their leader in front the synagogue?
  6. New "Forgotten Hero's Map" ?

Well, it's an interesting idea, but it would need a lot of work in the targets.ini and types.ini to remove all WW2 stuff and put WW1 stuff instead. It also would need to remove the airfieds and put WW1 airfields instead (some tile work also added). This map would let us to add some land based planes......but in campaign planes change their airfield sometimes. If you use this map, some floatplanes would finish in land bases and taking off from the airfields. No good in my book. I think current Stephen map is the best for floatplane operations given the game limitations. And it has an aditional advantage: if you make a copy changing the map name (and the needed files names), you can add it to any install (you'll also need to change some ship skins). For example, you can add it to you italian install, call it Adriatic and make a new campaign (when a good planeset is available). With a good planeset you can have Black Sea, Baltic.......
  7. Hello, friend! I know it's a little out of its time, but I decided to add the Schneider to the campaign neverteless, because: -It's a very nice model. It was a pity not to have it in any campaign. -I gave it bombing and recon missions mainly (with a few fighter missions). -To add some variety to the campaign (very limited planeset, you know... -Not a great difference between the Schneider (100 Hp) and the Baby (110 Hp) -It's a semi-fictional campaign, after all (most German seaplanes operated from land bases)
  8. First Eagles: Fokker Scourge

Hello, friend! I really like your campaign reports! I had noticed time ago the flame-prone Nieuport 10 and 12, so I updated both planes with a smaller "damage box" for their fuel tanks. I also "spiced up" their AI. Maybe you have miss it!
  9. I don't think it's a real plane. So I didn't add it to Armchair Aces -It has a observer's machine gun.....No real for a B class plane (unless field mod, as I tend to think about the Pfalz Parasol (AII) we have. -It has a synch machine-gun. No way!. B class planes were unarmed, early war recon machines. At this time, only fighter planes (Fokker and Pfalz) had synchronized machine-guns and these were top-secret technology, so Eindeckers were not allowed to cross enemy lines. This changed only when Entente planes started to have Synchronicity gears (some Bristol Scout or Sopwith Strutter, I think). So an early recon plane with Synchronicity gear was not possible at this stage of war. The most "lookalike" plane for this one was the Halberstadt BI. It had a 80 hp radial engine, was unarmed (you can edit the DATA.ini file). It wasn't a widespread used plane..... Nevertheless, the model looks veeeery old.
  10. Add the Turkish, please! (you won't regret it)
  11. Maybe you should search for some Turkish ones....
  12. Italian Front (WIP)

I have same problem. I can't download it. It says I don't have permission...
  13. It's uploaded and waiting for Admin permission. From the readme: Welcome to a very different WWI campaign experience! This is a semi-fictional Floatplane campaign. This campaign start in November 1917, in North Sea. A very interesting month, because in October the German High Seas Fleet, operating in the Baltic, assisted in capturing the islands of Oesel, Dagö and Moon (Google for Operation Albion, please). Also, in November 1917 was the Second Battle of Heligoland Bight (Google for it, please). At the same time Germans kept on sending out their submarines and merchant raiders, Entente forces continued trying to blockade shipments to the German ports. From time to time, German Fleet units ventured out to shell the British coast in an attempt to lure British ships into a trap. And, of course, fishing ships and coastal merchants continue to operate along the German coasts. The German High Seas Fleet remains in the Baltic Sea, and Zeppelins are a menace too...As I said, very interesting times! This campaign depicts the use of Seaplane Tenders in both sides, trying to spot the enemy ships, hunting down the Zeppelins and attacking enemy ships, submarines, and of course planes. Thank you to Stephen1918 for all the wonderful planes, ships, airships and the wonderful terrain......And of course all the texts revision and betatesting! Stephen, you rock!
  14. Fairey III request

I must confess that I HATE doing floatplane FMs (veeeeery difficult to make them take off in FM set as hard, because limitations in game engine), but they are soooooo beautiful that I don't mind about the extra work. The Fairey III is a very beautiful plane, but it had a very limited service. There were more important seaplanes, as the Short ones or the Fairey Campania, the Felixtowe ones, Fiedrichshaffen F33, Hansa-Brandenburg ones, the Macchi ones or the Lohner ones........
  15. Hello! To all these floatplane lovers, I just have updated Unsung Heroes to have flying the new Sopwith Schneider and Albatros W4(Late). Get it while it's hot!
  16. BE 2c - in progress

And I'm going to be the frst man to fly it (when the FM it's done) MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
  17. Albatros W.4 - Late version

Well, Austrians used some Albatros W4 and Italians used some Sopwith Baby.... The problem is in campaigns. Sometimes, when frontlines change in a offensive, some units change their aerodrome, so you can have your floatplane unit landing in mountain airdromes sometimes.......
  18. I like it! After you finish it.......a complete seasonal tileset for Stephen's Eastern Front would'nt hurt anyone.
  19. Same here, Stephen, I didn't know you/yours were in trouble. As Wrench said, family comes first. This is only a hobby.
  20. You can bite the bullet and make all coordinates yoursef with the help of the Ruler Tool. It's a hell of work.....I had to do this with the Po-2 and the Arado Ar-68 (none of them uploaded by their owners, by the way).
  21. Italian Front (WIP)

Yes, it will change the entire game, but I think everybody has separated installs (Western Front, Palestine, Eastern Front, Italy, North Sea...) so be free to experiment. You must extract the file, mod it to your taste and put the file in the Flight folder. There is a missioncontrol.ini in the Armchair Aces Redux package (I modded it to have slower promotions to the player's pilot).
  22. Italian Front (WIP)

I think a modded Missioncontrol.ini can be very useful to an Italian map install. You can change the minimal flight altitude this way
  23. Italian Front (WIP)

It's a very pretty terrain, but I wonder if AI planes can really take off from those airfields
