  1. New Seaplane - Sopwith Baby

Errr....Armchair Aces doesn't use the 3ºrd party Flanders map. It uses only the stock Cambrai map. If you want a floatplane campaign, you better go to the download section, download the Bloody April campaign (tah uses the Flanders map, an add the floatplanes units there. Maybe someone will do a (semi-fictional) campaign to use Stephen's map
  2. New Seaplane - Sopwith Baby

I think the best package would be a 2c, a 2e and a BE12, but Stephen is the boss....let him work and you'll see. Next Project is the Hanriot HD2 and finish the North Sea map (a generic wáter map to fly the floatplanes). Other easy planes to do from work we have now: Albatros DI and Fokker DIII (at least the ealrly versión without ailerons)
  3. FE2 update patch

Good points, Panama Red, I didn't though about the new people, as I tend to think we are a dozen of players worlwide, with all the bunch of WWI players flying ROF or OFF, but you're right. A new patch will break a lot of stuff and it will be a disaster.
  4. FE2 update patch

Well, TK can or cannot make the patch an we can or cannot install the patch....
  5. FE2 update patch

After a zillion FMs I nearly had a heart attack after reading the topic name, go figure! Please, don't touch the game!!!!!!!!!
  6. Rumpler 6B-1

An ever easier (and very funny) way is to have a "John Rambo" observer that holds the machine-gun as a rifle (with no mount at all).
  7. Rumpler 6B-1

It moves through the struts, so, some "take it as is or leave it" is required. I can limit the movements between the struts if you like. I think it's easier this way (and I think i't the old approach to the problema in RedBaron series too). About the multiple guns, it's the correct way, but I don't think it's feasible in the game. You'll need a lot of movements in the gunner. It's simply too difficult. I don't know how is it solved in Over Flanders Fields.
  8. Rumpler 6B-1

Capun's BE-2 (and Aviatik CI) has a nice (but not 100% right, sorry) method to solve this. I'd try something like that (and of couse, limit the gunner's field by DATA.ini)
  9. Well, as I said in the readme, these airships are intended to be used in Campaign mode (with units of one airship and one pilot). They are not useful in single missions, because they are treated as bombers by the game engine. Thus, the game creates a bomber flight of various Airships...but They are way too big to use bomber formations. Quack was working in a formation mod for these, but it requires to have also a new Nations.ini or something like that...
  10. Try these! MyTerrainsData.ini fArmchair Aces.zip
  11. I don't know....Are you using Jan Tuma's tterrain or stock ones? If you are using Jan Tuma ones I can post here my files
  12. Well, first of all, I think something is wrong in your terrain settings (in each terrain DATA.INI). You shouldn't have any object under the terrain. There should be a lot of ground units. Secondly, if you are watching advancing tropos with no firing, they (or any air unit) has probably destroyed it's enemy unit. So, no target, no firing. Most ground battles were between infantry units in WWI, so you will no see much tanks until late 1917. Thirdly, if you want ground battles, you should choose an historical battle (for example, Verdun map in February 1916). If there's not an offensive, ground tropos don't move, so no Army cooperation missions. Still, the stock campaigns should work as usual, if you don't see ground units there, it's probably because the units are under the terrain...so wrong terrains settings (ask an expert for these)
  13. Hello all! I just have uploaded (and pending for Admin approval) the new Armchair Aces. This time is the entire war in a package. What's new?: New Albatros DII, Fokker DII, Fokker M7BI, SPAD A2, Nieuport 24 (Lewis), Zeppelin L32. Terrains populated with field guns and machine-gun nests, all targetable for your pilots. More realistic promotions. You'll go slower this time.....no General in a month! Harder Ground objects Better Stosstruppen: before, they fired their machine guns at long distances and die because the rifles are better for long distances. Now they run until adequate distance, and then fire! More tuned ground war (I hope), to avoid rapid victories. We want more missions!
  14. There is an alternate TOD setting somwhere in the downloads section.
  15. There are firing artillery batteries in the latest Armchair Aces (obviously they fire when there is a target). They are placed everywhere in the map, not only the frontline. This way the Artillery will fire against the tanks or infantry that have crossed the frontline (avoiding the "blitzkrieg effect" in some campaigns, with one or more units running like hell after breaking only the early frontline opposition). Of course, these batteries are recognised as targets. Fly a two seater campaign and tell me... You can add more artillery if you like
  16. First Eagles wish list #2

You're right, bro!, but you don't need to extract the files from the CAT. If you have the current Armchair Aces, you should have new Targets.ini for Cambrai, Verdun and Vogesen (with a lot of field guns and machine gun nests added).
  17. First Eagles wish list #2

This is "easy" to fix. You can go to the Targets.ini in each terrain folder and add whatever you want (trucks, static infantry, field guns, machine gun nests, tanks, static ships.......and, of course, AAA)
  18. Err...It's not only a Nieuport 28 problema. Try the SPAD or the Salmson and see...
  19. Version 1.5

    545 downloads

Armchair Aces Redux by Ojcar Welcome WWI buffs! This is a mammoth compilation of a series covering the (mostly) complete air war in Western Front in WWI. The entire war is divided in mini-campaigns of a month-10 missions. I'm using the two stock maps plus the Vogesen map. You'll have about 39 mini-campaigns and 390 missions per pilot! New in this compilation: - In 1.5: -Roland D.II -Roland D.IIa -SPAD 11 -SPAD 16 -Fixed some typhos in campaign files
  20. I wonder if a First Eagles conversión could be done. We have Gothas and Staakens at A-Team site. We have Zeppelins, and ships are on the way....
  21. I just have upload the AI flyable rigid Airships. They fly, fire their guns, bomb their targets and are hard to destroy.....sometimes, because the AI fighter planes will fly through them and die the kamikaze way (a game engine limit). In old Hitchingbroke Zeppelin, they will go no harmed. They are useful in campaigns (you shoud make units of one "plane" and one pilot). For single missions we'll need a Formations mod.
  22. File Name: AI flyable rigid Airships File Submitter: ojcar File Submitted: 21 March 2013 File Category: Other Central Powers Aircraft AI FLYABLE RIGID AIRSHIPS: Well, a quick and dirty work to make AI flyable two of the excellent Stephen1918 airships. -The real L32 Zeppelin was shot down in 1916 over Horns Reef by the cruisers Galetea and Phaeton while trying to raid England. Before this it made 77 recon missions over North Sea. The model we have is intended to have a generic German rigid Airship to use in campaign mode (you should create units with one plane and only one pilot). -The real R23 class was never used in combat, but two of the improved R23X were built in 1918, and in fact one of them, the R29 attacked the UB-115 U-boat (it also was attacked by some ships. The submarine was sunk, and this was the only recoorded success of a British rigid airship. Both airships are hard to destroy with machine guns, but the AI fighters will try to pass through the Airship sometimes (a game engine limit). Bad idea! The fighter will be destroyed (and the pilot probably will had the VC or Legion d'honneur) and the Airship badly damaged. To install them you should put the AirshipR23 and ZeppelinL32 folders into your Aircraft folder. Enjoy it! Both models and skins by Stephen1918 All FMs, Loadouts and .ini stuff by Ojcar Special thanks to Peter01 and Hitchingbroke! Click here to download this file
  23. Plane requests

If you are planning to add rail yards to Cambrai, Verdun or Vogesen maps, please wait a little, because I'm going to upload the Armchair Aces update very soon. I have add a lot of field guns and machine gun nests to these maps. You can add the rail yards after that (and maybe even add more artillery, the most boring work in the world)!!!
  24. Plane requests

The Muromets it's a lot of work. It probably will need special Formation and a new Airfield.....
  25. Have a little patience.......
