  11. The best comeback, ever!

Hey PG_Raptor, I agree with Scout, a match 45 is a great pistol. I'm a little busy over the next few days but I'll pm you some info that may be helpful to you you or I'll just add it to this thread. I would stick with Colt, or maybe a Springfield Armory .45. Here's a few links to check out... There are a lot of options out there. http://www.colt.com/CMCI/Series70.asp http://www.springfield-armory.com/prod-pstl-1911-fs.shtml Personally I prefer the Colts. But some of the newer Springfields look promising. I'm just the keep it simple and solid type. More reliable and less to fail. Check them out and see what you like! Hope this helps, Foo

Heres a pic of my old AR,
  13. The best comeback, ever!

Hey Chief, Not bad, $350. Actually the recoil isn't that far of from each other depending on the round used. The 9 travels at a higher feet per second and has higher gas pressures so the recoil is about the same depending on the round. The only other thing that I didn't like about the older versions of the 92 is that if you pulled it on someone they could grab the slide and pull it off the pistol. I'm qual'ed with both the M-16 and the .45, when I qual'ed they were still using the .45. The think I also like about the .45 is you can carry it "Cocked and Locked", just lower the ambidextrous safety and your good to go. One hit and your target IS down. 7 in a Wilson Rogers mag and one in the chamber and 2 extra clips and your'e good to go. Sorta like Ford or Chevy though I guess, I'ts a preference.
  14. Sad News for the B-52 RC

I agree, I just took a second look at the pic where it looks like someone shot at it and the pic looks a little fake. Fuzzy too not as clear as the other pics. Foo
  15. Sad News for the B-52 RC

Fates, If that had of been me I would have been one pissed off B-52 owner! Could you imagine how much that thing cost? I once bought an A-7E kit from Jet Hangar Hobbies whith a Turbax 1 fan and a K&B engine (this was before they had mini jets for sale) but I never got had the time to build it. Sold the kit and engine but I still have the Fan. If I ever hit the lottery thats what I would do though, build me a nice A-7E with a real mini jet in VA-66 colors. I feel bad for the guy, do you think that someone just really shot it down or was it a stunt? Foo
  16. The best comeback, ever!

Hey Chief, I used to own an AR-15 A2 H-Bar with an Aimpoint-2000 dot scope, a stainless Colt 45 Govt. Model and a Mossberg Bullpup Shotgun. When I transferred into the city I had to sell them all because of the gun laws in DC. It was a pre-ban AR too. When I got robbed on the way home from work I wish I still owned and could of been able to carry my .45. That jerk had a snub-nosed .38 revolver ! When I nightstocked at the Safeway in MD. 3 of the nightstockers and I used to go to range in Waldorf and shoot together. Bernie had an HK-93 and Garfield had one those Chinese AK's. I wish I never moved and kept that AR, I loved that .45 too, I've owned a few 9mm and I still believe that anything under .40 cal in a handgun is inadequate for personal defense. Beretta 92 (pc of SH!!), Browning High Power is a nice 9 but I still think the Colt 45 is the way to go in a pistol. Single action, drop that puppy in the mud and it'll still fire, etc. As for the Mossberg, like the Beretta-junk too, and I knew it when I bought it but I was 26 and thought it looked cool. Remington 870p is the way to go there IMHO. Foo. Personally, I'm against gun control and although that joke was fictitious it had it's merits IMO. It's the person not the pu$$y...er, Gun. :D :D :D
  17. RE: Cougar posts

I have a Cougar that had to be replaced and the replacement has the speedbrake problem. I don't have the time or the patience to keep tweaking or fixing rather than flying. I have a love/hate relationship with this thing. I love the way it feels in your hands. But when I deploy the speedbrake it feels "sloppy" but it works. I'm just worried about reliability. Here's what I've owned in the past: Ch Flightstick CH Pro Flightstick that lasted forever, TM Top gun (can't rememeber) but was an early model Throttle and Flightstick. CH F-16 Fighterstick and Pro Throttle gameport, same TM rudders... still worked when given away. Except I still own rudders. Top Gun Afterburner USB that worked great. I just wore it out after 2 years. Inexpensive too. Top Gun Afterburner Pro that I still use on my second machine and works great. Same as above. CH Flight Sim Yoke gameport. Ch Flight Sim Yoke Pro USB that I use for Fs2k4. MS Sidewinder Game voice. TM Hotas Cougar w/ pedals (same pedals from above that I have had for years). I have never had ANY problems with the CH stuff that I've owned. As a matter of fact I tortured that CH Pro Flightstick gameport and gave it away when I upgraded. It still works today because my friend still uses it in one of his older machines. I loved my CH Fighterstick and Pro Throttle gameport but was stupid enough to give it away when I got the Cougar. I like my cougar but think the maintenance hours per flight are a pain in the butt. Ghostdog, I read your post about the upgraded software, does it help? I am just wondering if I should sell my Cougar and use that money towards getting the CH F-16 Fighterstick, Pro-throttle and Rudder Pedals USB or should I just keep my Cougar? Thanks for any input, Foofighter
  18. RE: Cougar posts

Hey Sledge, Thanks, I'll give that a try. I really like the way the Cougar feels and the more I think about it I'm going to keep it. I need to spend some time tweaking everything, Ghostdog mentioned a 6mb software file and I think I might wip out my old version of F4 if I can get my hands on FF3. Thanks for the help, I am mechanically inclined (ex AD) so it shoulfdn't be a problem. Thanks Again, Foofighter.
  19. your choice

Hey Scout, You're right, I get'em mixed up sometimes. Who was the guy that was behind the Clinton Budget? I think I might have gotten Rubin mixed up with Reich. Anyway, I'm on my first cup of coffee after I read the news I'll double check it. Foo
  20. your choice

Al Franken... :D and Ann Coultier :D ? Jesus, what if they pro-created. LOL! These aren't my picks by the way I just thought it was funny. Sticking with my first post.
  21. your choice

I'm gonna cheat on this one ;) , Curtis LeMay as prez and Robert Reich as Vice. One helped create a killer Air Force and the other balanced the budget ! Foo
  22. Has anyone even thought about this?

I think I might know the reason for this but I might be wrong. On a lot of those camera systems you can set whats called a frame rate delay. We have them where I work not only to watch the aisles but also the cashiers. I work for Safeway in DC (it's a grocery store). Our camera's are set up for a 3 second delay to save tape but I do know that you can change th delay from no delay to up to 5 seconds (atleast on our systems). Some of the newer systems save to a harddrive that can be d-loaded to a dvd or cd but I think the videos in question in this thread had similar systems to what we have in the store (video). It's just a thought on this, I might be wrong but that might be why you don't see the plane and just see the explosion, it may have been on a delay. If any of you guys have a chance look at the video again and see if you notice any sort of delay between the frames. That might explain it. Foo
  23. Pro Bush Protesters at the Convention

Pro Bush Protesters at the convention in Central Park. Got this from this link... http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/polit...ntionDiary.html Here's just a part of it but if you want to read the full story read the entire link. Billionaires for Bush, no matter what your politics, must be one of the most likable protest groups ever formed. Our country's politics have seemed a trifle (!) short of humor in recent years, but these people have found a way to make a point while making people smile, even people who don't agree with their point. The Billionaires' key tool is slogans. On April 15 they staged demos carrying signs that said "Taxes Aren't for Everyone," and "Thank You for Paying Our Fair Share." Next week they will celebrate "Cheap Labor Day." Today's slogans, taken from signs we saw at the Great Lawn or later in the "Million Billionaires March" (there may have been 150 of them in fact), included these: "Four More Wars" "Corporations Are People Too" "Leave No Billionaire Behind" "Privatize Everything" "Dick Cheney Is Innocent" "Get on the Limo!" "Free Ken Lay" "Warning: Affordable Health Is Hazardous to Our Profits" "Widen the Income Gap" "Kerry-Edwards: Where's the Greed?" The one that sums it up for me the most is: Next week they will celebrate "Cheap Labor Day." Check out their website: http://billionairesforbush.com/index.php War, Astronomical Deficits in addition to this is why I'm voting for Kerry (plus all the other reasons I said in previous post). Honor? Patriotism? If I didn't have these I wouldn't be so worried about the economics behind all of this and so adamant about posting it. You and I are going to be held financially responsible for this long after he's gone and that's a scary picture. Foofighter

Because she used to hide her spare sets in her wig cases :D ! And that's the truth. One day I wen't looking for a book that she was reading and said I could read it, she kept her books in her closet in her room and I just happened to knock over one of her wig cases and voila, I found the spare keys to her Chevy Impala convertable. She used to carpool and I couldn't resist. Didn't like her Cutlass Supreme. And finally I wrecked her Lincoln. That didn't go over too well. But a year later I bought my first car in 1979, a 1965 Pontiac Bonneville. Talk about a party-mobile. It was a fast "land-yacht" with a chrome and REAL wood trimmed dash, electric windows, etc. I loved that car, sold it when I left for the Nav. Foo

Hey Utley, Check your facts and you forgot China! If the deficit dousn't matter than why are most economists worrying about it, even Greenspan of all people said it's got to stop. Based on what's up there I'd vote for you ! Hey Scout, We had a Ford Fairlane :D , my bicycle tires are wider than the ones that were on that thing :D . Unfortunately I wasn't in my teens yet so I was too young to be able to steal my mom's keys and take it for a test spin like I did all of her other cars as I got older :D :D :D ! Foo
