The ZPU1 and M1939 are a most welcome addition to your earlier work of the Zil trucks. The pit is great as the ones for the (A)C47s. Thanks! Thanks too to Dev A-Team for their work and dedication S! -

Adding Ships
Tannethal replied to gillg's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mission/Campaign Building Discussion
@Fubar512: Just to sum it up: - I have to edit the campaign_data.ini file and add the escorts in the carrier section. - They have to be declared as carriers as per your instruction - Then they should appear in campaign generated missions and sail along the carrier. - The escorts don't have to be declared as groundtargets in the targets. ini with a according entry into targettypes.ini. If this works as advertised it should be added into the knowledge base ASAP. S! -
AAFG_Sturmo

You can always assign as much pilots to a given mission as you have active pilots and available planes via the pilot rooster. However you have to give them a loadout before you fly via the loadout menu. So click on more pilots in the rooster, to assign them to the mission, then go into the loadout and arm their planes! Bear in mind that you can only assign your wingman a direct ground target, all other flights will target AAA, SAMs and other active units. For Strike/Attack missions I recommend you load numbers 3&4 for AG as SEAD element and 5&6 for AirtoAir. So you have your own Escort element at hand. If you equip a AG element, consider removing their gun ammo, otherwise they will start to strafe after they run out of bombs, which gets them killed quickly. S! -
Anti ship mission in the Solomans campaign
Tannethal replied to scrapper's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I pressume you mean Edwards Full Solomon mod. Edward posted about some issues at Thirdwire forums with the latest service pack. So you should try to contact him directly. Not sure what causes the lockup with anti Ship missions, sorry don't have it, so can't check. As for AA and Ships at i pressume Guadalcanal shooting at you: Switch trough the ground units via F7 and check if they are red (japanese) units. Edward said that some squads had their activation date set two weeks after the campaign start and so japanese were well advanced into close proximity of Henderson. You might set the startdate for the player units to the campaign start date. That means basic campaign editing, consult the knowledge base on this. This is what i remember from Edwards posts at thirdwire forum. See if you can find the topic. S! -
chaff and flare
Tannethal replied to bingo's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Depends on which model you fly, the stock WoV Phantoms don't have Chaffs or Flares. Not sure if the A7A/B has them, however some addon planes have them by default. S! -
Can I use WoV Sea Enchanced Planning Maps in SFG?
Tannethal replied to Voyager's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Don't mix the DRV Terrain by Gepard with the WoV Terrain, DRV covers a much smaller area, namely the Democratic Republic Vietnam, commonly refered to as North Vietnam. It's somewhat extended to include parts of Southvietnam and Laos/Thailand. The WoV terrain is much bigger, covering the entire SEA including North and South Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Laos and lots of water south and southeast of that land. Keeping that in mind you should now understand the problem you expirience. So no joy, you won't be able to use the WoV planning maps with the DRV Terrain. But you could try to crop the addon Wov planning maps to the size of the DRV Terrain and then enlarge them to the right resolutions. However even then it might not fit well. Since i doubt that WoV and DRV have the targets/airbases at the exactly same locations. S! -
Complex static
Tannethal replied to doubleugly's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
If there is no airfield around it's most probably that a terrain file is not pointing at the respective cat file. Just to get clear on everything: 1. Which sim are you playing? 2. What mission is it, something that came with the planes or a selfmade one? 3. On which terrain is the mission supposed to happen? S! -
ac-130 gun pod?
Tannethal replied to evant's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Pressume you could mod the Data.ini of the C130J to load that thing. But you wouldn't get a single weapon. However the weapons of the AC130 are indeed fixed regardless of that load, it can be shoot away and you would still be able to fire. I mean that the guns are part of the AC130 Data.ini and not a part of this gunpod. It's more like a visual modification to the Airframe. One other thing: the variant I had more or less represented a AC130A with a added surprise package, but the guns where off, 57mm S60something instead of Bofors. That i corrected. The grouping of the guns leaves some things to be deceided. Would make more sense to have the Miniguns and Vulcans in one group and the Bofors in the other. Better Match balistically as i found most of the time either the Bofors or the Gattlings where off Target, well to be honest in most cases all guns where off target blasting holes all over the countryside. Anyone ever updated that Bird or is there a newer Version around that i don't know of? S!
