Guardians of the GUIK Gap
JonathanRL posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
File Name: Guardians of the GUIK Gap File Submitter: JonathanRL File Submitted: 06 January 2015 File Category: User Made Campaigns Guardians of the GUIK Gap Submarine Hunters of the Atlantic Year: 1979 Flyable Services: French Navy Carrier Operations: Yes Naval Combat: ASW / Convoy Attacks Ground War Scale: None What to expect: A lot of flying over Open Water looking for Subs. September 1979. As the Soviet Army invades West Germany, an entire division of Soviet Airborne troops parachute onto Iceland. As the US Navy moves to recapture the Island (Operation Northern Sabre) the French is asked by NATO to guard the GIUK Gap against Soviet Forces. As a Alizé pilot, you are to prevent any submarines from attacking the Clemenceau, sink enemy transports bringing reinforcements to Iceland and work alongside your squadron to secure victory for NATO in this vital sector. Honneur, patrie, valeur, discipline! Please note: This campaign is best played with visual and targeting aids on difficult setting. It becomes a tad too easy otherwise. Installation: This mod requires Strike Fighters 2 North Atlantic and Strike Fighters 2 Vietnam OR French F-8E (FN) Crusader DLC. Install into the Strike Fighters 2 Mod Folder of your choice, usually found at C:\Users\YOURNAME\Saved Games\ThirdWire\StrikeFigthers2 While this Campaign and assets are made to work together with other minor campaigns and mods, I cannot guarantee compatibility. Allow overwrites or use a separate folder. For credits, please read (and actually do it too!) the file named "Credits". I could not do what I do without all these talented people! Does not really matter what the Argies would have had, if the Ark Royal and her Phantoms and Buccaneers had been there, it would have been a massacre. -

AFAIK they plan to turn the gold edition into the Steam Edition, meaning that the Acceleration Pack will be included. I suppose will see in a few days. -

Microsoft Flight Simulator X: Steam Edition now has a launch date
JonathanRL posted a topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator
Back in the summer, Dovetail Games revealed that an overhauled version of Microsoft Flight Simulator X would make its way to Steam near the end of the year. That window is rapidly closing, but the studio has now announced a release date that's going to just barely make it through: December 18. The Steam edition of Flight Sim X will include more than 20 aircraft ranging from commercial jets to single-engine private planes, 24,000 airports, and over 80 missions including races, search and rescue, and test pilot scenarios. As promised, the multiplayer functionality has been updated—the original 2006 release relied on GameSpy—and it supports Windows 8.1. Unfortunately, the terms of the licensing deal with Microsoft do not allow the studio to implement any graphical updates, so the Steam release will obviously look like a game that's rapidly approaching its tenth birthday. It will offer numerous bug fixes, however, as well as content from the "Deluxe edition" of the original game and the Acceleration Expansion Pack. Dovetail also said it will launch "a range of add-ons" for the Steam Edition in 2015. http://www.pcgamer.com/microsoft-flight-simulator-x-steam-edition-now-has-a-launch-date/ -

Jas 39 Gripen E (NG)
JonathanRL replied to JuanchoGomez's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
From what I can determine in the game, this is not a proper Gripen-NG model. It seems to be in the same size as the C and while the weight and length is the same, the hull is supposed to be bigger in order to accombate the wings and increased payload. -

Is it just me or did people just suddenly stop making Force Feedback sticks. My Sidewinder is dying and I am hard pressed to find a replacement with FF. -
There was a file that also named the missions and the order. You had to add the missions there. I cant remember the name but the XvT Equal of "Allied" editor could add them. You are however advised to follow the sequence as I recall but most mission editing I did was with XWA.
