Wings over Scandinavia - Official Thread
JonathanRL posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mission/Campaign Building Discussion
There are two things I get commonly asked these days. One: "When is the Viggen coming?". I still have no clue about that, but as for the second question most commonly asked "Can you do something for Series 1? Swedish Jets are awesome but I don´t want the hazzle that is SF2 patching." Team The Scandinavian Front is proud to present "Wings over Scandinavia" for Wings over Europe. In essentials, this will be a slightly smaller version of the The Scandinavian Front Mega Package available for SF2. The package will focus on the time period of 1956-1966 with the two TSF Campaigns "Operation Isbjörn" and "Operation Mannerheims Sköld". At this point, development and conversion has just started so I have not that much information of what will be in it. However, I can guarantee that we will see classic SAAB Jets and a lot of action over the Baltic. I will be happy to answer any questions and listen to suggestions you may have. To follow the progress of the mod, simply follow this thread or look at our Facebook page found here. -
SF2 Terrains to Series 1 Standard
JonathanRL posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mission/Campaign Building Discussion
I am looking to make a TSF Version for Series 1 and have no experience with converting terrains. What do I have to do to convert a Terran from SF2 to Series 1? Since I am also going to have a lot of other conversion work to do, is there anybody who could aid me in this task? Actually, I just fucked up. I use the CD version of WoE and had not patched it. Once I patched it, the Sweden terrain worked flawlessly. -

Turned out I had done a tad too many SF2 edits. Restoring it all made it better ;-) -

That is indeed the one. -
I must admit I thought the first HAWX was at least decent with the PMC Storyline. It was at least better then "Hey, Russians/Terrorists!"

Falklands war experiment
JonathanRL replied to dtmdragon's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Sci-Fi/Anime/What If Forum
One of the reasons the Argentines thought the invasion feasible was because the UKs decision to scrap those assets, as well as several vessels well suited to South Atlantic climates. -

Phantom Air Race challenge
JonathanRL posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Type of Mission: Air Race Aircraft: F-4E Phantom II Route: D1 to D10 Loadout: Any Difficulty Settings: All settings must be at least Medium or Hard. Victory conditions: The clock starts when the mission has loaded. The race is over when the aircraft has landed without damage on airstrip D-10. The player is encouraged to quit the game as soon as that happens to get an accurate time from the game itself. RULES: * You may not edit the mission. * You may not change the aircraft. You may however choose service and skin as you see fit. * Autopilot is allowed, but... discouraged. You will find using the autopilot puts you at a disadvantage. The same goes for Time Compression. * Average Crusie Speed for this route is 25 minutes. You are encouraged to beat it. The mission can be downloaded here. It requires Strike Fighters 2. I actually got the idea from Fighter Ace III that had several Air Race missions. Some with weapons, some without. -
Unusual Thing in SF2 Europe
JonathanRL replied to AJAY67's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
The ones with names are Aces. They can be randomly created at the campaign start, or they can actually have fought their way trough a campaign just like you... -

Until I see a release, I do not believe it. Heard it before. -
Who decides who is the Terrorist? The people in control of PRISM. Do you know who will use the system in 20 years? Or 30?

Any chance we can get a Israeli skin for it, for use in the 1948 Mod? -
DLC029 now available

That makes sense even if he kills it. He does not wish to restrict more then he has to. One could wish that if he was going away from PC Dev that he could unlock NA Scrips for all games as well... -
http://kieranhealy.org/blog/archives/2013/06/09/using-metadata-to-find-paul-revere/ Where in the US is Paul Revere and how many lamps is he carrying? Let the RSA find out as we go hunt for the terrorists! ;-)

My first Spitfire mission was against S-99s. A sad tale that this time, the third world war started pretty much like the Second... -
One would say Gepart might know a thing or two about how similar these things are... The founding fathers of your nation where Traitors to the British Crown. Does that also make their actions wrong per default?

The point about all this is not how the data is currently being used. I think most of us do not think the United States Government is the least interested in governing all of our daily lives by using this data. While I live in Sweden and sure as sunrise is affected by this; I honestly do not care much. If the US wants to have a look about my debate about replica guns or loveletters to my gal, then that is their waste of time. HOWEVER The big point is what could happen if somebody else got this data. While an invasion of CONTUS is not very likely, who is to say the next administration - or the one after that - will go a little further to stop terrorism. And then a little more further. And then a little more further. Things like this could and has been turned scary rather quickly. In the Netherlands, registration of religion was common. Oh, dear - the Nazis invaded. They found that little piece of innocent information very useful, and quite alot of people was sent into gas chambers. Regarding the title; I think he is both. The PRISM system is clearly a step too far, and not worthy of a man who got a nobel peace price. That he did nothing to earn it does not help.
