Swedish Campaign (The Scandinavian Front)
JonathanRL replied to JonathanRL's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mission & Campaign Building Discussion
Stary, If you want, i could send you my work so far, and you could get to work updating it to a modern setting if you like. However, ground war still a pain to work out. -

Hah, I just had my breakfest :D Yes, what you described is the J-35B in a nutshell and what I am looking for. A later campaign then 1965 is up to anybody else. Will try to get some more ground war done while you take your well deserved rest. -

Wrench: Before you get all carried away with the HUD Models and the modern Drakens, could I request you also make a early version for the A & B Interceptors? Should only be to make it slighly less advanced and remove HUD and such. This is optimal, since the SF1 Pack Early Drakens can fly well enought in SF2 (tought a re-skin would make them happy). I must say the work is looking very nice, and its amazing to see the changes from shot to shot :) -

That pack works good on SF2. Would benefit from nicer-looking skins tought, but they work. A Proper A or B Draken would be perfekt for the 60:ies campaign. -

IF you are looking for airplane decals for the Squadrons, this will help you: http://home.swipnet.se/peters_flygsidor/flottiljer.htm However, I am unsure if this is what you are looking for. If you are looking for correct numbers, I dont know if there is any way to help you :/ -

Paul: Way ahead of you. You are ending up getting a big part of this packs thank you list :D RNAF Vamps - nor finnish ones for that matter - is not necessary. Finland only had six of them, and while I added a Squadron of them, it requires the player to have Exp 1, and I dont want too many dependencies on bought material. Most of it should be third-party. All Vamp squads have the AlternateType option. The boring kind :D -

Also: I desperatly need somebody to have a look at the Campaign atm, since the mission text for some reason refuses to work. I do something wrong, but cannot pinpoint it. Same with the ground war - pref from somebody with experience. -

Oh, that one is just plain gorgeous, paul :D I love it, and the B version was the most used during the time period. Just send it over when done, and I will do the rest :) Also added two Norwegian Squadrons of F-86 into the campaign. The ground war keeps bugging me tought. Need alot more checking at. Once that is done, I will start working on the next campaign. I rather release it all in one big pack when I feel its good enought :) -

Well, I almost finished with the basic work. After that, Beta testing will begin. If anybody has experience of ground war in SF2 Campaigns and want to help out with attack routes and so on, this would be most welcome. Just drop a PM. -

Wrench: I know, but a Terrain is a Terrain. And if there is a few campaigns out, maybe the tweaks will get done in time? ;-) Its satisfactory for my purposes at any rate. I finished fixing up the Air Units at any rate, so now onto the unknown territory - the Ground War ! -
Swedish Campaign (The Scandinavian Front)
JonathanRL replied to JonathanRL's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mission & Campaign Building Discussion
I have done Campaigns before, but mostly thoose was just small edits. I just started on Operation Isbjörn - because its the simplest of them all in my eyes. Less aircraft to manage and whatnot. So far, so good. If you want to beta test, I am all ears for volenteers. Pref people with knowledge about Swedish Air Force, Finnish Air Force or campaign making in general. Also, if anybody would like to make a J-28 (Vampire5) skin - and one for the finnish (Vampire FB52) version, id love that. References: http://www.aef.se/flygvapnet/Bilder/J28F14%201000p.jpg There is also one on the Column5 site if anybody wants to have a look at it. -

Oh, I dont intend to make you choose between the campaigns. I intend to make them all in due time :) I dont know much about making from scratch - but what I do not know, i will learn :) Also, any 80/90s campaign in Scandinavia _must_ be named Operation Garbo, after a cult classic in Swedish Defence Literature. Its our red storm rising, but without all the good. :D -
North Cape Terrain (Beta+) for SF2 by Baltika
JonathanRL replied to Wrench's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
Boulder: I am starting a thread about it. I dont care if I don´t know, what I don´t know - I will learn. This will be made. Check in on the Campaign making threads in a while when I finished it all up. The first idea is a wall of text. -

This is just plain Epic. Anybody up for making a campaign for it? :D I never made one from scratch, but would be happy to help with scenarios and all that. -

File Name: Lansen Package File Submitter: JonathanRL File Submitted: 10 September 2011 File Updated: 13 September 2011 File Category: SF2 Series Add On Aircraft Most of the work on this bird was done by NeverEnought and Timmy; Big thanks to them. Avionics & Damage models optimisation by Wrench. Thanks a bunch for that! Original Readmes included. A32A 3D model by Timmy. Cammo Skin and Metal silver Skins by Timmy. Dark Green Skin & national decals by Knug. FM work by Lexx. Euro001 Pilot by Diego. Martin Baker Mk GW5 Ejection Seat by Ravenclaw_007. Swedish RB Missile Set by Ravenclaw_007. SF2 updates by NeverEnough. M123 Photoflash Bomb from Bunyaps Weapons package - thanks to whoever made it. Avionics Upgrade by Wrench. All I did was to seperate it all into the three service versions, as per the sources of the book "Lansen" by Sven Stridsberg. Versions included in this package: Swedish Air Force: A-32A Lansen (F17 Blekinge) J-32B Lansen (F1 Västmanlands Flygflottilj) S-32C Lansen (F11 Södermanlands Flygflottilj) A-32A: Attack version, fitted with bombs for ground targets and the Robot 04 for Ships. The basis for "CIC Club", the first strike that would annihilate Soviet Ships on the Baltic. Carrying a Thirdwire substitute for Bofors AKAN 20mm Guns. Standard Military Green skin. J-32B: All Weather Figther, however most used as a Night Figther and thus, this is as well. Its set to Night Only, so be mindful of this if you use it with the Campaign Editor. Carrying 4x 30mm Aden guns. Silver Skin. S-32C: Recon Version, carrying photoflash bombs. Added mostly for novelty value. Aside from that, you are left to your own speed and devices to evade the enemy. Experimental Low-Alt Skin. Enjoy! Click here to download this file -

Yes, but the Lansen was not designed to fill the role the Javelin did. Its main role was to be an Attack Aircraft. The Night Figther version was suplemented by J-35s soon enought :) -

Thanks, Wrench. Going to fix it up right now so expected a updated version. Also, I removed the second pilot from the A-32. -
... NO TO TERRORISM; That is Sweden in a nutshell. Never take forceful action, instead clearly declare your intention, preferable in a facebook status. Sorry, but... its just the way it is.

NICE! Any chance you can provide updated skins for the Swedish Air Force versions of the Lansen as well? Those we got are... dated. -

Lexx: Considering to how I have seen the Lansen fly, and the describtions in a few books about its handling, id say your FM does the job well. Its a medium fighter, a tad more sluggish then the Hunter, but not to the Phantom level - depending on what you are carrying, of course. -

Oh, that changes things quite a bit :). Don´t worry about it then. At any rate, I submitted a edit, so a correction should be up soon. Regarding a thing I actually was not certain with is the S-32C Camo pattern. My book shows a S-32C in a similar camo but It does not look like the same one, so if its was not carried by S-32C, I just invoke artistic license :P -

If I make a mistake, there is no need to be rude. You are correct, I simply assumed they where single seaters due to most images showing a single pilot (and this makes sense)
