Can't hit the broadside of a barn to save my life...
JonathanRL replied to serverandenforcer's topic in The Pub
Oh, this takes me back to my qualification in the Swedish "Volentary Officer Training" with the G3A3 (Ak4). I was so nervous about qualifying that on the longer ranges, my shoulder was moving too much for me to get a steady aim. -

Question regarding Strike Fighter 2 Europe?
JonathanRL replied to Rodster's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
You will find that more AI Aircraft has been added, a more fine tuned Flight Model and overall small additions. Getting SF2E and adding Nato Fighters 4+ will give you a most epic and rewarding experience. -
Why cant we all just sit in Spitfires and practice formation flight over Suez... Lack of Multiplayer, thats why... but lets all hold hands :)

"Never know what him them" just got a whole new meaning ;-) -
I have only lived in the Western part of Germany for a few years, but mostly, Statsis biggest tool was fools and children, as well as surveillance gear. "Ratting out" was not really the same big deal since there was not that many who actually did the ratting - most of thoose who did was already Statsi members who had a big influence in everyday life. While former Statsi Informers where arrested, charges was dropped (Beeing a member is not illigal). A country of 17 million had 100 000 Statsi mixed into them. Compared to Soviets 480 000 KBG Agents or Gestapos 40 000 (who watched over 80 Million), this is a big ammount of people. Regarding the files, some are still classified, others was taken away with Western Intelligence agencies during the first hours of the looting of their headquarters. Any major spineless rat ought to have figured this was a good time to leave the country by then. It is worth noting that many wanted the files to be classified to avoid just the kind of actions you describe above. However, in 1992 the files was declassified and anybody can request to have their Statsi act sent to them. However, it is impossible to say if theese files contain any names of agents who may have reported above-mentioned activites.

I actually like SF2 the most - The Merc mode is simply outstanding. But SF2E and SF2I are awesome as well. Never really bothered with SF2V tought :/ -

Battlefield and Call of Duty Series Going the way of MMO?
JonathanRL replied to Acidrain's topic in The Bunker
Well, with fact in hand - we all know Bad Company 2 won the match. -
Why do you want to be far away? A fair shot from a G36K is what I would want.

Gordon Van Dyke of Battlefield Producer Leaves DICE
JonathanRL replied to Acidrain's topic in The Bunker
Blast it. Met the guy in person during Battlefield Bad Company 2 release when he handed me the prices for best dressed cosplayer. I would preferred him staying in Dice. -

While the MiG-21 is faster, I think I heard that Skyraiders had confirmed kills on 17s, and they are much more manouverable then 21s. During the war, U.S. Navy Skyraiders shot down two Soviet-built Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-17 jet fighters: one on 20 June 1965, a victory shared by Lieutenant Clinton B. Johnson and Lieutenant, junior grade Charles W. Hartman III of VA-25;[12] and one on 9 October 1966 by LTJG William T. Patton of VA-176.[8] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A-1_Skyraider

Desert Campaign - No Foreign powers
JonathanRL replied to jomni's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mission/Campaign Building Discussion
If I may be so bold as to state that I am dead sick of fighing MiG-21s - regardless of Era. We did see Paran use Mirage 5D in the later campaigns. Maybe this is an option? Esp as France and in some cases Great Britain has not hesitated to sell to theese regions. If would probably use a mixture of MiG-23s, maybe a single squadron of 25s/31s, Mirages and the like for Paran. With the F-5 and F-16 in place, I do not really see that Dhimar would have a need for a dedicated Attack Aircraft, but a few late era A-4s for Reserve duty never hurts. Considering their doctrine, the Harrier (earlier models, doubt they can afford later ones), is also an option. You could always have a extra F-5E tailored for Ground Attack. -
