new TW TURKEY preview by TK
JonathanRL replied to Gr.Viper's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
That was certainly unexpected. Id say we are going back to the "Med". -
Comparing Dungeons and Dragons with the lonelyness of a computer screen is silly. D&D required you to have at least a few friends with a similar interest - or meet such people. Everything is additive in my eyes. All that needs to counter it is either self-dicipline or willingness to listen to other people. The Game Addiction is nothing new. Counterstrike and Battlefield 2, as well as numerous other games has been accused of the same thing. Please play responsivly. Just like with everything else.

Looks more like a Naval Aviation version to me. I mean, we all know the reason the US wish to preserve the Kingdom so what would be better for Long Range Escort Missions then the Mirage? Well...esp considering the alternative seems to be the Hawker Hunter. -

*clears throath* Guns! Guns! Guns! -
He would not even confess before he died? Pathetic. The evidence was as I understand it overwhelming.

Why would you want to rob people of experiencing the end of the world first hand? I for one would feel cheated if I died before it began...
-
I did look into it. "Misinterpretation of the Mesoamerican Long Count calendar is the basis for a New Age belief that a cataclysm will take place on December 21, 2012. December 20, 2012 is simply the last day of the 13th b'ak'tun, which began September 18, 1618 (1,728,000 days from the beginning of the calendar)." I do admit tought that this makes for entertaining reading: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2012_Doomsday_prediction#Doomsday_theories

OT: I lived in Germany when I registred. I currently live in Sweden.

Find a date in history and you will find somebody who predicts doom for it. I know a few "end of the world" dates that has passed in my lifetime. Never even gotten close, tought I think 2012 may be a pretty good yawn if you want to kill time someday.

An Idea: France vs UK
JonathanRL replied to Gepard's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mission/Campaign Building Discussion
I love this idea soo much that I am actually going to set up a special install for it :) -
To current and former servicemen, I salute your courage and thank you for your service. I also specially wish a speedy recovery to the wounded of the Fort Shootings and the Swedish Soldiers who ran into an ambush as well as anybody WIA not mentioned above.

CNN is sending live. There will be a news briefing soon. They also claim that one of the wounded, shot by Military Police may have stolen his uniform and is not a member of the US Armed forces. I wish to Enforce that this is highly UNCONFIRMED, from CNN. There may also have been a 4th Arrest tought two suspects have also been released (http://www.statesman.com/blogs/content/shared-gen/blogs/austin/blotter/entries/2009/11/05/two_suspects_have_been_release.html)

Sources in Twitter claims the attacker in question was upset about his deployment to Iraq. Whenever he has been there or was to be deployed is unknown (stated by Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison)

Condolanses to family and friends of the victims. May the highest authority bring swift justice for this cowardly attack! Local Hospital has required all the aid they can get in the form of blood fusions. All Blood Types are required.

I have SF2 Israel/Vietnam/Europe...Why do I need SF2 (original first release)
JonathanRL replied to RichardG's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I have to add that the Mercenary Campaign is fun to play and is my primary reason to have in my Merged. Ever tought about how it is to buy that brand new Mirage III only to discover you cannot afford any bombs for it? :) -
So far, the only thing I liked what I heard about BF-1943 is the music. However, this price makes me at least want to check it out.
-
*salute* I heard the history behind that ship. It is a very beutiful one, tought - apologies if anybody takes offence - an AEGIS Class Vessel would been more fitting.

Worst Mission that you managed to survive
JonathanRL posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
A Recent Mission in my Formosa Straights Installation got me thinkin - what is your most disasterious mission that you actually managed to survive? We toppled the most glorious ones in previous threads but, do you remember them? In my case, the mission was a Escort Mission. I was flying the F-11F Tiger, leader of eleven other Aircraft. We was going to escort eight of Super Sabres on their Strike Mission while a pair of A-1Hs provided SEAD. Then the Chinese Appeared. Three Squadrons of MiG-17s tore straight into the formation, destroying two Huns, marking the mission as a failure as the F-100Ds broke formation and engaged the fighters. There was none left to actually bomb the target. Two MiGs swept right past my wing, destroying no-3 before my Tigers even had dropped tanks and breaked formation. I make a lousy squadron commander, but I honestly did not see them coming. After this, it all became a Furball with the majority of the Fighters beeing MiGs. A Few Fox-Twos over the radio seems to imply there might have been some casulties on their side apart from the one I shot down with guns. After a prolonged gunfight and noticing that all F-100Ds had been destroyed, I gave a return home order by section - with one of the sections not even complying to my orders. I hit the deck, flying low and fast and got home with about 1/3 fuel. I never actually saw any other following me, but mission debrief said I lost 9 F-11Fs. The mission ended with the SEAD Element beeing wiped out (as far as I could determine, by the AA they was supposed to knock out), All but three (including me) F-11Fs and none F-100D manage to return home. Mission failure. So, let me hear your glorious disasters :)
