Anti-Ship missions possible in SF2V?
JonathanRL replied to TalonOne's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mission/Campaign Building Discussion
No. Intercept missions are unavalible as well. For Anti-Ship, you need SF2 or SF2E: One also has to remember the rather strange RoE the Air Force had at times during the conflict. -

WoE Default Aircraft and Years
JonathanRL replied to AJAY67's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Well, many countries kept their Hawker Hunters well into the eighies. There are still Air Forces that uses it as its main Aircraft - same with the MiG-21 and other such Aircraft. As thus, the time usually shows when the last Air Force stopped using the plane in question. -

Id say the Mirage was to be expected - in hindsigh. Why bother with one aircraft when you can have it for two games? The F-104 is also something out of the blue. Reusing the A-7 is a brilliant idea. And I rather wait longer on this one, then have them scrap the Harriers... or the time it takes for them to add a MiG-25... -

WoI: AI Conversion
JonathanRL replied to ShrikeHawk's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
All you need is to add a line in the Aircaft Ini File. Add the Line in the [AircraftData] Section. CockpitDataFile=A-4C_cockpit.ini However, WoI does not have the above Cockpit so I would suggest using the Mirage cockpit. You can find that one in the Mirage folder (or should be able to, I am honestly not sure) Enjoy your Aircraft ! -
Did anybody but me notice that they added the Promixa Class from Star Trek legacy into the Fleet, making the ship Canon? And since its a heavy Battlecrusier, it would be perfect for the mission to Vulcan. For me, I was sitting there and waiting for the "big reset button". Actually a nice suprise to see that it did not happen. I liked it.

Currently completed a J-29C Flying Barrel in UN Colours for a friend of the family who served as a loader of a C-130 in Kongo during the ninetees. He and me spoke alot about the efforts of the UN Squadron and he even lent me a book on the subject - so I tought it only fair to build him one. http://brommaherman.deviantart.com/art/UN-...arrel-121628095 The colours are slighly off (never been my strong side) but I am pretty damn proud of it.

NF4 Released
JonathanRL replied to Dave's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
That was awesome timing on your part lads. I just re-installed WoE for the Formosa Terrain. Im sorry, but the chinese will have to wait... If you ask me, TW can drop SF2: Europe and just release a complete Nato Fighters Release. Nato Fighters is the most epic thing to ever happened to WoE... apart from the Formosa Terrain. -
Strike Fighters 2 Vietnam is Released!

TW got terrible timing. Even if I got it now, my Girlfriend arrives and stays for two weeks. Have to sneak some playtime in the night... if I can. -
RAF/Soviet SF2 Burning Sands Campaigns
JonathanRL posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
One of my friends just got Strike Fighters 2 and wanted to be able to fly Royal Air Force and Soviet in the campaign and fixed it for it. This uploaded file contains the following Squadrons: RAF 1st Squadron: Using Hunter F6 until 1966 when they transfer to F4s. Peoples Volunteer Squadron: Mercenary Squadron. Package includes upgrades of Soviet Aircraft made flyable so Merce...I mean People Volunteers Squadron does not have to fly western Junk all the time. Recommended extra downloads are the SU-9A and SU-9B who is a great asset. They start out flying MiG-17F and should keep a number of 17s or 19s in their squadrons regardless what their main squadron is flying. A Mix of 17s and 21s is very lethal. 196th IAP: Flying MiG-19. Upgrading to MiG-21s 55th IAP: Flying MiG-17. Upgrading to MiG-21s 1st Special Ops Squadron: Starting with Hunter F6 instead of F-100D but starts with more money to compensate. Uploaded here in case anybody else would want a similar package. Everything in this package belongs to Thirdwire. I just played with it, cause Thirdwire got the coolest toys. -

Change the standard airplanes in the Thirdwire Campaign
JonathanRL replied to ghost-mike's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Oh, thats even easier. Sorry for misunderstanding then. Focused abit too much on the "against" part. I take it you have the F-14A by Mirage Factory installed and that this is the Folder Name. You have to remember that the spelling has to be exact. Make also sure you have latest patch installed. Check if you have Campaign maps in your folder. If you do not, use a .CAT extractor, there is one in the Download Section. The Campaign you are looking for should be Campaign3 - and have a folder for it with two .ini files. Open the Ini files and find the Squadron you wish to fly. Simply search for the first F-15 Squadron in [[insert Campaignname]]Data.ini and then replace the F-15 with the F-14 or F-16 of your choice. Again, the new text must match the aircrafts folder name. Then, go to the other Ini, do the same thing with the same squadron. This will make the game text know that the F-15 is no longer the standard aircraft for the campaign and will show this at the Campaign Screen. Start the game, play the Campaign. Good luck defending our country :P -
Change the standard airplanes in the Thirdwire Campaign
JonathanRL replied to ghost-mike's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Yes, there is. This mostly involves changing the side of the Aircraft in question but this is quite simple. Take the Aircraft you want to oppose (provided that you are "Blue side, NATO and Possible Allies) and change it into "Red" Side (Warzawa/Soviet/Enemy tagged aircraft. For this to work, you must go to the aircrafts Data file to change NATO/USAF or the like into SOVIET and then find weapons hardpoints and do the same. This is not a smooth transition, but it will allow you to fight against the Aircraft in Single Missions. Be warned that this however is sure to wreck up your campaigns so only use it in Single Missions. And _do not forget to make backups so you do not have to reinstall it all_ -
Also played the PC version and I kinda like it - for what it is. I dont have any consoles at home and has been missing a Arcade Flight Shooter and this hits the spot.

I am disappointed in this. Not only are there very few Soviet Missions (and the soviet missions are quite good), but you have to play all the standard missions too in order to actually play the Soviet Missions. I would not have minded this if there was some way to skip the standard mission. Also, it seems they have been somewhat lazy. The Soviet Missions are mostly placed on Multiplayer maps.
