  1. Jail is well done for the Fruit Picker or everyone who is thinking to do the same.

    Two months ago a 8 year old boy was caught trying to blind pilots reaching Congonhas Airport here in São Paulo.

    The boy was doing this every night for months until police finally identify the source at the top of a building and for their surprise was a 8 year old kid.

    A lot of reports was written by airline pilots about how dangerous and distracting the laser is at final approach.

    So,don´t think 4 month in jail is too much because hundreds of lifes are in danger right now and safety flight authorities are predicting that sooner or later we will have a tragedy because this (laser poiting at aircraft) is becoming a "funny" joke for idiots around the world.

    ( I´m so amused by the CGI in the Falklands documentary that I cannot wait anymore)

  3. Well, UnknowPilot I don´t really thimk that the terrain in SF2 series is the best in the market,even if the models are beaultiful enough.

    If you take a look at the screenshots of upcoming titles, you will see that slowly SF series are beeing dated ( take a look in the cockpit shots of the tiger moth from Storm of war , for example,it´s another level of graphics.

    If the bar is raised too much, the suspension of disbelief of older titles may become difficult and you ends loosing interest.

    It´s my perception of things, it´s opened to discussion , and not a personal attack to TK or Thirdwire.

    A SF3 title with graphics like DCS,Wings of Prey or even Rise of Flight it´s my dream with TK series , because no matter what kind of sim I play , I always come back here, all these years.

    But I also understand that those titles are fruit of team work , not by a person alone like TK does.

    I´m worried about the future of the series because of what I am seeing now, all those big teams delaying so much their titles,struggling with the increasing difficulties of programming titles almost photographic in their image quality ( look to DCS A10 Warthog and say WHOW!)

    And TK, with all his talent (and I mean real talent) it´s just one man, not the superman.

    I like very much the huge scope of this series,the ability to fly a wide choice of aircraft and weapons, like if you are FLYING a digital encyclopedia of aerial combat.

    But the man needs to catch the tecnology to not be too much dated.

    I hope I don´t need to fly in some Vietnam third party mod for Storm of War for example, who is promising to embrace all eras of flying after it´s lauching,( a Korea mod it´s already promised) because I like very much the open nature of SF2 world, but I believe strongly that sometime, TK (thirdwire), like other well succeed little companies, will have to choose beetween to grow up it´s company or stay behind.


  5. 'Kay, I extracted the file, got me the "missing" files needed (I can well do without the A-1, A-6 and B-57, as those come with the XP, right?)...

    What data do I need from the Mig-21-Pack? All of it? ...But I already have a MiG-21-folder...blink.gifdntknw.gif

     

    Hum, but what is it with the MiG-21 - is it only that you cannot use it for a Campaign? Might that be, because the VPAF were transitioning from Mig-17 (Fresco-C) to MiG-21 during the cause of the Campaign - maybe???

     

    How is it intended to work, anyhow? Can you create single missions using Mig's (starting from NV-airbases) with the pack, or can you "only" start Campaigns?

    Stingray,into the Mig 21 pack are instructions how to make migs flyable.It´s only a drag and drop thing, easy to do.

    I already find a way to do a Mig 21 campaign modding the CampaignNV11.INI ( or DATA.INI I don´t remember now)

    I´m at work now, so tonight I´ll post the exact way to do it for you, it´s very easy.

    The important is that now I have Atoll missiles to do the dirt job and lots of power to catch those Phantoms and Crusaders.


  6. So, "Fly them All" is easily installed over a SF2V with the XP Gold?

    What does it include, the reds' cockpits to make the MiGs flyable? Campaigns? Anything else?

     

    I downloaded it but never installed it as I was hesitant not to crash anything coming with the Gold...

    It´s only a Rolling Thunder campaign flying the Red side.

    You need the early Migs cockpit mod the "complete Mig 21 pack "

    The only problem I found is that I can´t for some reason initiate a campaign flying Mig 21.

    Even if I choose a squadron listed as flying Mig 21 F or E , when I go to hangar screen is always a Fresco-C available.

    But, everything is working fine.

    What I discover is that is very rare to succeed in a mission, (always intercept missions)

    Because you are always outnumbered , the Americans bomb their targets every time ending in a failure to red side.


  7. I´m doing a red campaign in SF2 Vietnam with the XP Gold and man,that´s a terrific experience.

    You are outnumbered all the time , surrounded by Phantoms that looks like the Battleships from Star Wars from inside the tiny cockpit of Mig 17.

    The only way to survive is staying very low to avoid the truckload of sparrows they fire in your direction, maitaning high speed all the time and going up fast to shoot in targets of opportunity (the 17 has a real heavy punch in those cannons)

    I have discovered that Skyraiders and Thunderchiefs are very damage resistant in this game you have to fill them with lead to down one.

    Bottom line is I think we deserved a red campaign from TK , but the third party we have now is fun like hell (using Fly them All at the moment)

    Anyone Knows about high resolution Mig 17 cockpit around?


  8. Dogfighting with fast and heavy jets demands the mastering of energy management technics.

    Avoid to do hard turns with high Gs , you only will loose all your cinetic energy doing this.

    Try to fight with high speed , using high yo-yo to loose speed ( turning cinetic in potential energy) to avoid passing your enemy.

    Use snapshots to down Migs ( the Vulcan cannon are ideal to do so, with their high rate of fire)

    F4s are in fact the perfect Mig killers once you learn to manage their advantages and minimize it´s weaknesses.

    They are fast, bad and armed to the teeth.( very ugly bastards too)

    I think they do the most of aerial kills in Vietnam.

    F8 kills only 13 aircraft in Vietnam ( I have to check this information I read this other day , can´t remember where)


  9. Just after I did the download , I realized that my copy of SF2E, recently dowloaded already was December patched,and the read me of NF4+ stated that it only worked in June patch.

    A little frustrated I decided to go ahead and install it, just to see what happened and for my surprise everything is working perfectly,without any editing at all.

    I´m playing for four days with almost all planes for testing purposes and in three different campaigns and everything is fine.(under Windows 7 64-bit)

    The only glith until now is a missing after burner effect in the Sabre model K.

    just for sharing with you guys,and thanks for the people who developed this great,great mod.
