  1. Desktops

Ahh - were it that easy eh
  2. Desktops

The Spad X.III is that of 'balloon buster' Frank Luke of the 27th Aero Squadron. The SE5 (HS) is that of Graham Conacher Young of No.56 Squadron (Flight colours Red, Blue and Yellow). The DH5 is that of Les Holden of No.68 (2AFC) Squadron. There are many new skins that have been created by the team that couldn't be released previously, due to the size of the complee downloads. As you know each skin DDS file is around 2.7 Meg in size. If added, these would have increased the size of the downloads too much. As an indication, there are around 800 new or updated skins yet to be released for the SE5 HS, SE5 Viper, DH5, Spad X.III, Alb DV, Alb DVa and Fokker DR1. When released this will increase the total amount of individual aircraft available to around 5000. It's possible these skins may be released sometime soon, but in what form remains to be resolved. It could be as a single release or even as sets. No decision has been made yet.
  3. Hi all, The recent thread on Red Baron and the heavy snow keeping me home, prompted me to fire up Hells Angles (OvS patch for RB) and compare it to OFF. Like many I was an avid follower of all WW1 sims and have RB3D, Hells Angles, Full Canvass Jacket, Flying Corps Gold, First Eagles etc. Out of pure interest, here's a few shots to compare one legendary sim (Hells Angels) with, we hope, another.
  4. How things have changed

Certainly the DVII is in development for P4 (that shot was a taster). The others (Albs etc) are being enhanced, so those may be P3 already, or in development for P4 ( I'm a 'crumpet skinner). The Noop 28 is from the 95th and, I believe, part of the Hat in the Ring release.
  5. How things have changed

    One for the Noop fans.
  6. No 56 Sqn

The early SE5 proved unreliable with its 150HP Hispano Suiza engine. It was superceded by the SE5a with a 200 HP Hispano Suiza engine driving a four bladed propellor. Later versions of the SE5a had the Wolseley Viper engine driving a two bladed propeller. We don't model the first version, the early SE5. Also one SE5a version has an iron ring gunsight whilst the other has a boretube sight. So it depends when you start flying the SE5a and in which Squadron as to if you get the HS or Viper version. Of course if you have a British pilot and fly in QC mode, you can fly either.
  7. OT: Can you help me...

The Taube was an aircraft in its own right, but many in the early period of WW1 called other aircraft types 'Taubes'. Unless I'm mistaken this looks like an Aviatik, but I'm sure someone will correct me if not,
  8. OFFManager.exe version number?

Then you have the correct manager loaded - in the thread you mention the first screen shot is of version 1.32 manager (not the latest) - UKWM's screen shot is the latest.
  9. OFFManager.exe version number?

Properties on my OFFmanager.exe reads : 40.1.0.1 which is patched to HitR and in Workshops reads Phase3 V1.41i
  10. OT: Inbound !

Hi all, At my eldest daughters - she's on the way to having my fourth Grandchild - this is worse than dogfighting an EV in a Bristol Scout!!
  11. OT: Inbound !

Well given the habit of baby's to convert everything to liquid, I'd say she's be starting off in the 'pool' flight!!
  12. OT: Inbound !

Hi all, Thanks for your responses - 'Grace Amanda Marie' arrived this morning at 7.45 am and weighed in at 8lbs exactly (I think her dad used to be a precision grinder) - anyway mother and baby are just fine, however Grandad, who only got a total of 6 hours sleep (in an armchair) since Saturday, is knackered (but pleased) AND she beat HITR to the starting gate, just
  13. OT: Inbound !

Well - from 11pm Saturday to 3am this morning (Monday) and at last it seems it on
  14. OT: Inbound !

Not yet - things have gone quiet just now - 14 hours and counting - this looks like its going to be a long sortie
  15. Advised by disk to reinstall

The re-install information is given on the OFF website FAQs here: http://www.overflandersfields.com/ Basically if you already have CFS3 installed it just a matter of installing OFF then patch it with the Super Patch V1.32, followed by the Mini Patch V1.32G. Then just wait for the latest 'Hat in the Ring' expansion pack to be released
  16. Screenshot Utility

I use Fraps and also Hypersnap - both good.
  17. Yes - all of the N.28s will have the darker blue on the roundels and as Shred said, the same for the rudders of the 94th and 95th with the lighter colours on the rudders of the 27th and 147th.
  18. Poll: WinXP vs Win7

I think its worth pointing out that OFF is not 'shackled' to XP, but in fact runs on Vista OS as well. I and other members of the OBD team use Vista. Also the team at OBD keep their eyes open for new OS and would always 'look into' this area.
  19. OT..Sorry, it's another Jet Video :)

Heh Heh - Rest assured whoever it is that skins the Snipe, it'll be good - I just hope it me though !!
  20. Thanks my friend - people enjoying OFF is all the OBD team strive for, but it was a nice tribute anyway - thanks for amending it - its just to avoid any confusion. I must say it looks really proffesional - have you tried texture filters to see if you could recreate an oil painting feel?
  21. OT..Sorry, it's another Jet Video :)

Hmmmmm - nice video but wrong I think - the Tornado shown is not a GR4 but an F3 ADV (Air Defence Variant) and I think from what was 11 Squadron based at RAF Leeming in Yorkshire - If I recall correctly the letters DJ on the fin were the initials of the then Squadron CO. Sorry, but I spent nearly 11 years on Tornado - sad but true. Carrick58: Not sure what 'tick' marks you mean, but if its the line running along the top of the canopy, then it represent Miniature Detonating Cord (MDC). The canopy on Tornado is jettisoned from the aircraft by rocket motors if the crew eject. If that fails then the MDC can be fired. It does not explode but rather is a very high speed and intense burn, which fragments the plexiglass canopy and allows the crew to eject through.
  22. Ho Olham, That's a very nice piece of artwork, but could I ask you to remove the OBD from the signature - it might be taken that it was 'official' OBD work, which of course its not. How about some more paintings?
  23. Hi all, I've posted some screenies of a few of the Nieuport N.28's for the Aero squadrons, which were modelled and base skinned by Winder. The various ace schemes were by Winder and me. The OBD site will have details of the upcoming release - Drop into the site to see what coming your way.
  24. Grounded!
