  1. Campaigns tend to be specific for a certain terrain. So you can't really add campaign for SFP1 Desert won't work in WOE, for example. However you can use a campaign for Libya (that you have used in SFP1) in WOE providing you have the Libya terrain, which you needed in SFP1 also. Actually SF, WOE, WOV are basically the same & play/feel the same, same game engine - they are just different versions/eras in different countries. All have some of the same a/c and you can move a/c from one game to the other. I think WOI is the sim to get but as Viper says, TW will be patching all their games to the same level as WOI, probably this year. The price of these sims is certainly great value.
  2. Thanks again Wrench. And you would make a great Colonel's Corporal, I think. Just joking of course..
  3. Oh No! We've there's only Sprite in the fridge .... and it's DIET!
  4. There's always the Unseen Library.....if you dare!
  5. I wonder if these low fps are on dualcore machines - many of you guys actually have slower cpu speeds. I get similar fps to Brain32 (mine 25-30) with similar settings, both ingame & vidcard, resolution is at 1024x800. In fact some settings are on unlimited, Ground Objects on high, water on low. I am getting slightly lower fps to what I get with SF.
  6. Yep, for me it's a must do. And it works in WOI.
  7. Koushiro, Brainless is suggesting that you look in the Knowledge Base - try "extractor". Some files need to be extracted before can see and edit.
  8. The red square is just a visual guide for the virtual pilot as you may realise. The wingmen may not drop ground ordinance immediately after receiving the "attack air targets" command. If no air targets they will keep ordinance until some bandits are in range/appear. And for ground attack, make sure you let the wingmen know soon enough so they can line up for a run in on the target. Otherwise they usually take a while to make a suitable flight path in to bomb on target.
  9. Oded, the mod for that F5 view to make it a check6 can be found in a search here or simhq. However it's not very cogent reading. If you have trouble I can post my changes to viewlist.ini and you can just copy them in. It gives a view from just above a/c lookin to rear - you can pan full 360 horizontal - 90 vertical movement - Check6 view available for AI as well.
  10. Did you turn up some of the graphic options - ingame & videocard. Perhaps you would get same fps but with better graphics. I realise though that I wouldn't be happy with 15-20 fps, so the RAM wouldn't be worth it.
  11. What!? You have the mirrors on! Perhaps turn them off and see your fps jump, also turning off shadows helps a lot. You seem to get better fps than I do with mirrors on, although I have them off. My resolution is set to 1280x800 with 4xAA. My laptop specs are below.
  12. And you seemed such a sensible guy .....Crows!!
  13. Yeah, lots of brown lawns in the suburbs. Good to see people doing the right thing. And because you're in South Oz I looked for this link from the Knowledge Base, it shows how to map stuff to the Animation keys - canopy open/close is used as an example...Perfect :) http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showtopic=24370 I hope it works for you. So, you have someone to LanPlay with, lucky devil! I've played once with a brother but he didn't think much of it. I have SFGold but just got WOI, so I don't play the SF anymore. With WOI I don't need to add many mods or edits, etc. I like it better than SF. I had a fly of FE but it gets a bit boring for me. I haven't played any others. Go The Crows!
  14. In multiplayer you don't get the loadout screen. Your loadout is based on the loadout ini so that's where you have to set it (obviously before you start the game). Bad luck for us, many have commented on this. I think you need to add the function into the appropriate ini (cntrols ini ?). It must be a 3rd party a/c. Do a search and also look in the Knowledge Base. Many a/c with canopies that can open are set so the canopy will close when you reach a certain speed - possibly around 20 km/h. This is in one of the a/c's ini files.
  15. Right, now I am serious. Cardinal Biggles, bring out the pointy cushions!
  16. I think you guys should be posting at simhq. Jah?
  17. Thanks Wrench. I was pointing out that you can't change player a/c from the instantaction ini, you must change it in the options ini. You can also make change in instantaction but not necessary. AI can be changed in the instantaction ini. TK's response from TW forums: http://bbs.thirdwire.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=5079 "I think the Instant Action player aircraft type is read from Options.ini instead... [instantAction] AircraftType=F-15A_Baz <- try changing this" And he is correct, as usual.
  18. If you want to change the a/c that you fly then change it in the options.ini NOT the instantaction.ini - nothing will happen if you change it there. The only random things in the instant action are the weather (although usually clear) and the chance that a squadron will appear - randomchance can be changed in the instantaction ini.
  19. I stuck with SFG for 4 years until now that I've got WOI. The Desert is the best terrain. FM, AI, etc are the same as WOE AFAIK. So you won't get any extra in the challenge.
  20. Also, the defences at airbases are better "trained". I have only flown low over enemy bases about 8 times and got hit most times, shot down about 3or4 times. Fly low over an airfield at your own risk!
  21. Adding a bit of colour does wonders - a nice touch. Worth a quick download. Thanks.
  22. OR turn on AutoPilot and then take control when the coffee's poured.
  23. Ideas on "cool" can be so weird/perverted/subjective(or do I mean the antonym?) Sparko's avatar looks cool but smoking actually isn't cool. (If it's supposed to be a doobie, 1st impression makes me think he's just smoking) (I'm a smoker and I quit every day)
