  1. OR turn on AutoPilot and then take control when the coffee's poured.
  2. Ideas on "cool" can be so weird/perverted/subjective(or do I mean the antonym?) Sparko's avatar looks cool but smoking actually isn't cool. (If it's supposed to be a doobie, 1st impression makes me think he's just smoking) (I'm a smoker and I quit every day)
  3. TK has said, on the TW forums, that after release of WOI they will be releasing patches to bring the previous games up to the same level. Depending on how much I like WOI, I think I'll be putting SFG away. The mods can get a bit tooooo much - so many to keep track of and overlaps. I'm dissappointed that the sun will still be the pointy sherriff's star kinda thing - that'll be the first mod to do! :)
  4. Yep, it does sound interesting. I like the enemy numbers.
  5. I'm intrigued............and waiting.........................patiently......................................still waiting.............................patiently..........
  6. I've got SFG and I really enjoy flying in the desert areas - more action in the mountains would be great, though. Having 4 campaigns is great! Never played the others. I,ve tried a few terrains (DRV, SEA are toooo green). Probably Israel 2 is my favourite terrain. Waiting for WOI then I'll probably put SFG aside.
  7. If the mission is short I leave it to the planners. But if the mission is long range and I've only been given 1 wingman, then I call up a couple of extra guys ( if doing ground assault, they can provide cover).
  8. Pasko has done something. I don't know if it is available. http://bbs.thirdwire.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=2945 Looks great!
  9. Re: SAM calls - I suppose it depends on why you want to get rid of the SAM calls. But there is a speech mod in downloads that makes the caller give out the targetted a/c's number, so then you know if you should worry. http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autom...p;showfile=3836 The called number may relate to you or an a/c with the same number in another flight though. At least you know if the SAM call is possibly relevant to you.
  10. Hey, that's a great idea. Those terrain cats do become superfluous! (I love this word.) It'll also save time and space on my DVD backups. Thanks for the tip.
  11. This is what you want: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showtopic=12230 From the Knowledge Base. Shows how to get any 3rd party terrain working in any of the TW series.
  12. You may also want to check the aircraftobject.ini. There are various altitude settings under the many AI skill sections (these paragraphs start about 1/3 of the way down the ini), ie : [DogfightNovice] SafeAltitude=100 [DogfightVeteran] SafeAltitude=50 [LevelBombAI] LookoutA......... ..................... PullOutAlt=6000.0 ReleaseAlt=6500.0 Note: some of my listed values are not default due to mods.
  13. Perhaps I missunderstand your question, but you can change eject position in the aircraft's data.ini. From an F-16 data.ini [ChaffDispenser] ReferenceName=AN/ALE-40 SystemType=DECOY_DISPENSER EjectPosition= 1.0,-2.0,-0.05 <<<<< change xyz co-ordinates EjectVelocity=0.0,0.0,-10.0 NumChaff=60 MinExtentPosition=-0.2,-1.5,-0.45 MaxExtentPosition=0.2,-2.5,-0.55 Maybe also try changing the other variables here for what you want to do.
  14. There are 2 versions of this campaign by Johan. They both use different maps. Newer version uses Gepard's Israel V2. I hope this helps.
  15. My installs are: SFG - Vanilla patched SFG - patched + Weapons pack + common mods MiddleEastWars/BurningSands Upgrade Burning Sands '83 NOTE to Newbies - we have installs that are unmodded/slightly modded for use as references when modding and also for backup when things go wrong.
  16. Have you played with the engine entries in the Soundlist.ini? In the soundlist.ini (Flight folder) check any engine/burner entries, especially last 3 lines (Default values in RED): [JetEngine] Priority=NORMAL 3DSound=TRUE DopplerEffect=TRUE Looped=TRUE FrequencyControl=TRUE NumBuffers=4 MaxDist=5000.00 MinDist=150.00 InsideConeAngle=300 360 OutsideConeAngle=360 360 ConeOutsideVolume=60 0 My settings: Inside.....=300 - So when looking forward and to either side the engine noise is reduced just like being in a cockpit. ConeOutsideVolume - This sets how loud the noise is inside the cockpit (0-100%) Leave at 0 when Inside/Outside are at defaults.
  17. Yep, you can land at any friendly airbase after mission is completed. Or you can just hit the "End Mission" key without landing. I usually land at the nearest airbase. You can land before mission is complete (perhaps you have run out of ammo) but when you end mission it will be called aborted. Mission is complete when either success or fail. You can still fly around and attack if you still want to. The mission is successful if you (or your squadron) destroy the required percentage of air targets - this percentage is set in one of the ini's - it can be changed. Often it seems shooting down about 50% of enemy squadron will bring success. If target is a ground target then success can be just hitting the one target, ie communications tower. To practise landing set your jet to autopilot just before landing and watch how it lands - look at speed, thrust settings, etc. The jets approach and land with the nose up but I usually approach with the nose down so I can see the runway and then pull the nose up just before touchdown.
  18. You can make it so these tanks DO jettison. I like to get rid of the tanks. This can be done for any a/c. Open your Nesher Data.ini. In the Weapons section, locate the paragraph for the two external tanks and change the NoJettison line to FALSE Thus: [LeftWingIntStation2] SystemType=WEAPON_STATION StationID=6 StationGroupID=2 StationType=EXTERNAL AttachmentPosition=-2.155,-1.92,-0.6 AttachmentAngles=0.0,-0.85,0.0 //EjectVelocity=0.0,0.0,-2.0 LoadLimit=1000 AllowedWeaponClass=FT AttachmentType=ISRAEL ModelNodeName= PylonMass=72.58 PylonDragArea=0.02 FuelTankName=M3_SRP500C NoJettisionTank=FALSE <<<<<<<<< If you have any a/c and can't drop the tanks, then this is probably why.
  19. You are correct with gun & rocket boresight. And actually this is good for setting/adjusting the firing angle as my LAU's were shooting to low.
  20. This is what I have wanted for a while - only found Xtreme Racing (1&2), it didn't sound crash hot from most reviews and no jets. I especially would like the canyons and bridges. How would you get competition in single player? LockOn is certainly great for this type of flying.
  21. Silly boy, that sounds like the stock "shoulderview". It shows a view from behind the plane and you can pan, but then it reverts back to the forward from rear view. The default next object view ( f6 ) is what you want. There is a mod for the shoulderview that puts the camera just above & behind the cockpit and looking to the rear (checksix). This mod then leaves the camera facing the direction you turn it to. Pressing "next object" whilst in checksix then switches to next a/c. Do a search at simhq for how-to + some editted ini's. Also there is probably a manual on your CD & Thirdwire have a manual you can download or just look at.
  22. That's obviously the Men's otherwise there'd be a line-up. Stupid Woman more like it......hmm, maybe smart though. Who knows with them?
  23. ..............................................................................................................................so do a search ya lazy monkey! Well, with my extrapolation of your quote, then this is like real life. So thanks YooEss, I'll look.
  24. Thanks, however I like to give a sporting chance, meaning I want more of a challenge from opposition, so: Can someone explain more about the avionics tweek - what exactly needs to be done. Please?
  25. Now that sounds interesting. Can you explain more about the avionics tweek - what exactly needs to be done. I can see where to add the HasRWR part in the DetectSystem section. Will this work with all a/c even if no actual RWR? Thanks
