  1. Well, thats exactly what i been doing wrench, writing down the coords from TE and then making that city list with the center point and working out with the offset from there, and yeah...... its wrakkin my brain, or what is left of it. tell u what though, its gonna be so rewarding when im done. Then its time to write the campaign.
  2. Thanx wrench, i am using the germanyCE tiles and yes i used your road tiles. Very handy, very handy indeed............ the main problem is if the rivers aren't level where the bridges cross, the end up looking lopsided, so i have actually thought about making those bridges as airfield=TRUE in the city list, then level airfield in the TE and thats it. Nice level area and then save the height field. Then i can just use the normal city list i created. The problem is typing out 220 different little city areas for the bridges. Time consuming......
  3. Thanks Baltika, thats what i have done. i placed all the rivers manually. i actually got a sheet of clear plastic and placed it over my monitor,, then used the height map and traced where i thought the rivers are. then using my outline in temporary texta i placed the rivers and lakes in the tile map. anything that was around 10-20 meters in relative height over a area i classed as a lake. the long windy ones i used as rivers. it was very time consuming. lets put it this way, i have over 200 bridges in my terrain. i'm not sure wether i should use them all though, because if i include all those bridges, i'll have over 400 target areas. Wondering if this will make the terrain a very slow loading time.

I recently lost all my work, And it made me go totally beserk, If i had only backed up I wouldn't be f#*@ed up And would stop calling myself a jerk!!! Hee hee
  6. The Terrain Editor Thread

Well guys, it works. I extracted all the bmp's from germanyCE.cat and overwrote all the ones in my sweden folder. Voila, it now works. Now its back to terrain building........Yeah, wooo!
  7. The Terrain Editor Thread

Hi guys Trying to get back into my swedish terrain after my HD crash so i know how far i got. But TE wont let me open any texturelist at all. I get 2 blue bars then it crashes. I am sure that i have converted all tga's to bmps, all 256x256 bmps, read all posts here and adhered to pertaining ones, including the latest TE version, but it wont work. Any help? It used to work before my HD crash.
  8. Well, for some unknown reason my HD shat itself and i could not retrieve a single thing off it. NOTHING!!!!. All i know is i turned my computer off for 3 days, came back and it wouldn't boot up. Ladies and gents, if u are reading this and think it wont happen to u, guess what??? That was me 3 days ago. I have lost about 8 GB of WoE stuff. Not to mention my swedish map and campaign i was working on. 2 years of work gone. GONE!!!!!! luckily i found a swed map that i had backed up about 3 weeks ago so at least now i have only weeks to catchup on. It will take me weeks to get everything WoE related back. I emplore anyone who has not backed up at least their Objects folder to do so now. Oh and not in a zip file on the same HD like i did. Lesson learned.
  9. Rememberance Day

Lest we forget. I remember doing the dawn service and that bugle still sends shivers down my spine. You could see the old diggers just reliving certain moments in their minds as that sound resonated through the morning air. Although i never got to see any overseas action, i often asked myself could i be in their shoes and perform the deeds and actions that they and their fallen comrades performed? I'd like to think i could........... we will remember them, without them we may not be here.
  10. Nevermind EricJ, I have got everything to work. Turns out the target.ini file i was using was from redswarm campaign. I just got the germanyCEtarget.ini file from the N4 folder, added the carrier positions from redswarm and away i went. Nothing to do with the aircraft folders what so ever. B-E-ute-a-ful. Cheers
  11. Well, i sorted out the highway strip problem. I didn't have the correct entries in the targets.ini file. i was missing the whole target list. The EF 2000 works, but only if i play the luftwaffe sqn. The RAF typhoon campaign gets to 80%, then CTD with a graphicsengine.dll prob. hmmmmmmmm ALT N works as well. I guess a lot depended on the correct target list. But i still have this RAF typhoon prob. Now the gripen campaign works, but i have a white cockpit! very interesting.................indeed.
  12. Hi guys, looks like i have a lone problem here with your campaign. Firstly, nicely done and once i get past a few things, it will be better. 1. When i accelerate time (ALT N), the game freezes and i have to reboot my computer. 2. The EF-2000's cockpit has no textures and is mostly white. 3. I have no radio comms sound while flying the EF-2000 4. The JAS-39C campaign gets to 80% loading, then CTD 5. Planes on Highway strips are blowing up on landing. Phew, that's a little list innit? Cheers.
  13. I DL the new better widesky mod (may 3 2009) and it fixed the prob straight away...... Fanbloodytastic!!!!!
  14. I too have said problem, exactly the same horizon. This happens with all terrains.
  15. Hi guys, just tried to play WoE with the CL-13b in the '62 campaign, and the computer crashed and restarted. Then i tried playing a single mission with said aircraft and exact same thing happens. Tried resizing the bmp's to no avail any body else had this prob? Yes i have read the readme's. Theres no mention in there. Cheers guys!
  16. Just found some info on IAF Migs in Air Forces Monthly, March 2009. It has info on past and present Migs, squadrons, bases and a bit of history on the conflict with Pakistan. Thought to myself, "Gee, that would make a great campaign in WOE. I might look into it." Low and behold, its already here. Can't wait for it guys.
  17. Im gonna say, better Carrier ops, and better radio commands. e.g. More commands to wingmen and Red crown. Gotta admit though, there is a lot to this game already.
  18. Hi guys, can't find canadian hornets anywhere? Some one know where to look?
  19. Yes you are correct! Thanks mate!
  20. Does this mean its not available at all?
  21. Ah the EFA, (X-31). Now thats got some real thrust vectoring happening there. Anyway, terrain and airfields 90% done for swedish terrain, just doing rivers and roads. Starting on target areas and finding squadrons around '83, for Russia, Finland and the Swed's. Then i might start adding UK and other NATO stuff.
  22. HI guys, i have been making a swedish/finnish/russian terrain, and would like to know if i can use the new tiles, (from NF3) in my old terrain. I have been able to use them in the TE, but in game my old tiles show up. Is there a way to do this or do i have to start from scratch?
  23. Got it to work, The tileset didn't matchup. And i had to change the tiles in the TE using the edit texture map list button. Then save all the files in the main Sweden folder. Thanx anyway Brain.
  24. Hi guys, I have been putting rivers and roads in on my swedish terrain, and using google earth as a guide, there are a load of little rivers. So my question to you modders is how far do you go? How pedantic do you get when making a terrain. I could sit here for hours, no MONTHS, putting all these little rivers and roads in, but how many people would really notice them? I have so far done poland and the lower half of the old USSR. Also how ACCURATE do you get? It is a load of fun but very time consuming. Me inparticular, i like to go for realism, but this is getting a little monotonous. Also any good tips?
