Suez trouble
gillg posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mission/Campaign Building Discussion
Hello community. I know there has been a lot of questions regarding this campaign. And you have no idea how much time i have spent researching all the other posts in order to get to this point. But i have manged to get a lot with the posts i have found thus far. Until now...... My current problem is that in the 1956 suez crisis campaign, I have selected who i am flying for, got my mission and loadout, clicked fly, the loading screen comes on, gets to 80%, then crashes. The terrain works fine on single mission, and the 1973 yom kippur campaign works fine. Anybody out there have any ideas? My theory is it is somewhere in the campaign data but i dont know where. -
Suez trouble
gillg replied to gillg's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mission/Campaign Building Discussion
Well, turns out i got it right. It was in the Campaign data ini but what i am not exactly sure. Who cares, its working now. All i did was copy all the air unit data and strategic nodes, ground unit data basically everything below the campaign stuff, from the Suez campaign data ini, pasted it over the Yom Kippur stuff, changed the dates and max missions on the Yom Kippur campaign, renamed the YomKippur2_Data.ini to SuezCrisis_data.ini and voila! Strange but it worked. Here is the Data, whats the major difference here? Yom Kippur [CampaignData] StartDate=10/06/1973 StartDateDeviation=0 ForceWithInitiative=0 MaxMissions=22 NormalMissionRate=1 NormalMissionRateDeviation=0 OffensiveMissionRate=.50 OffensiveMissionRateDeviation=0 CampaignEndWinScreen=CampaignWin.bmp CampaignEndLoseScreen=CampaignLose.bmp CampaignEndStallScreen=YomKippur.bmp CampaignEndWinText=Yomkippur2\Yomkippur3Win.txt CampaignEndLoseText=Yomkippur2\Yomkippur3Lose.txt CampaignEndStallText=Yomkippur2\Yomkippur3Stall.txt And here is the original Suez data [CampaignData] StartDate=10/29/1956 StartDateDeviation=0 ForceWithInitiative=1 MaxMissions=20 NormalMissionRate=.50 NormalMissionRateDeviation=0 OffensiveMissionRate=.25 OffensiveMissionRateDeviation=0 CampaignEndWinScreen=CampaignWin.bmp CampaignEndLoseScreen=CampaignLose.bmp CampaignEndStallScreen=SuezCrisis.bmp CampaignEndWinText=SuezCrisis\SuezCrisisWin.txt CampaignEndLoseText=SuezCrisis\SuezCrisisLose.txt CampaignEndStallText=SuezCrisis\SuezCrisisStall.txt -
F/A-18F Super Hornet
gillg replied to Marcfighter's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Saw the Super Hornet in action at the recent Avalon airshow in Oz. Very impressive and got some footage and pics as well. If my upload speed wasn't so slow, i could share them. But i am on a monthly plan for internet and have to wait until the later this month. I'll put them in the gallery then. -
Reflying sorties
gillg posted a topic in IL-2 Series / Pacific Fighters / Cliffs of Dover: General Discussion
Hi all, long time player of IL2, FB, PF, and was wondering if anybody knows if you can actually save those missions that you have no option but refly them. You know when you just finished a mission by bailing out after you shot down 4 fighters and when you quit the mission, there is no apply button, just a refly button. How annoying!!! I just spent 40 minutes accumulating those kills, now there gone. Some of my other pilots were KIA and now, miraculously, there back!! What the......???? Any help here? -
Reflying sorties
gillg replied to gillg's topic in IL-2 Series / Pacific Fighters / Cliffs of Dover: General Discussion
OK, so once that is done and you have quit the mission, and in the debrief screen, it comes up with refly only, there is only the option to refly. I just wanted to know for that litle bit of extra realism. I guess the only thing you can do is manually modify the squadron.dat's and war diary.ini's. Cheers dagger. -

first, thanx for the reply dagger, and yes, in the campaign game. And how do you know if you have been rescued by friendlies? Do you have to fast forward time and wait in game until a certain time frame has passed or is there any other indication that this has happened? -
Terrain editor
gillg replied to gillg's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Why, Is there a simpler way? i already have looked into the DEM files and USGS sites, it looks pretty involved and technical. I like that challenging stuff. And thx for the link csb. -
Hi guys, anyone else experienced some CTD's when trying to get to the loadout screen while playing WoE? It's not all aircraft, just some. I have patched first, then added the aircraft as per the instructions but some add-ons (not all) CTD when trying loadout the aircraft. They still appear in game though? Any answers?

CTD loadouts
gillg replied to gillg's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
It's cool, i figured it out. The squadrons i had skins for weren't listed in the squadronlist file. Say i have the VA-195 Dambusters skin for the A-7E, but haven't put this line in the squadronlist file in the Flight folder; [squadron162] Name=VA195 DisplayName=VA-195 'Dambusters' Nation=USN It will CTD when trying to go to the loadout screen. Cheers for the reply USAFMTL. -
Target areas

Hi guys, just DL the falklands campaign for SFG, and the escort ships surrounding the Hermes and Invincible are all bad guys! Anyone else encountered this? cheers -
Target areas
gillg replied to gillg's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mission/Campaign Building Discussion
Its already marked as friendly and they still come up as enemys. I wish it was that simple, i have encountered this problem before with the updated BS campaign, but solved that problem by moving Alpha and Bravo station away from the coastline. This solution didn't work for Falklands, so i was wondering if i could make an area for these guys to sit in. And i'll try changing the date and get back to ya. cheers -
Does this now mean that people like myself, are limited to only posting? Because i am trying to DL some stuff for the falklands and i keep getting kicked off and having to login all the time. I for one have no probs with the 5 post thing. If you are a true fan of the games here then you should appreciate whats done and not take it for granted. I have created a few little off spins of some campaigns, but these are easily done by anyone. But if i haven't met some requirement to DL some gear, then i would like to know what i have to do to continue using this site. I check here almost everyday. cheers, jase

Adding Ships
gillg replied to gillg's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mission/Campaign Building Discussion
Well i have tried nearly everything listed in this thread. And a month later, its still not working. If anyone has this working for SFG, please, PLEASE, share with me the secret. Thanks in advance, Jase -
As the title suggests, is there a Javelin available for DL anywhere?

Gloster Javelin
gillg replied to gillg's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Oh damn. I am trying to place RAF 41 squadron in the Euro 62 campaign. Just for something different, and some info i got said that 41 sqdn at Conningsby, operated Javelins at that time. Just trying to go for a bit of realism. Oh well, i'll use a different aircraft. Cheers BUFF. -
What should I get?
gillg replied to agrippa's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I am thinking of making my WoE purcase from EB games in Centro colonades down south. They have 3 copies at 25% of at the mo. The new center that opened up at Noarlunga last November.
