  1. Love it...lol...Point taken. I'll switch to a crayon for more authenticity. p_n (Al)
  2. I have TIR4 and was using T4 1.037 Final B before changing to T5 5.0 Final B. The original 5.0's were buggy and flawed, very jittery, jumpy and not very stable. The 5.0 Final or Final B are great. You can set up much more precise profiles including the "pickup" points along the curves. The dead zone is better in 5 than 4. Don't use any of the 5.0 betas, period. Were TR4 profiles imported? Is default T5 CFS3 being used or import? Was a new profile set up for BHaH under CFS3? Was a newer T5 version installed over an older one? The blue light continually blinks whether a sim is running or not: it's the USB controller link between the transmitter, software and the controller on the mobo. If CFS3 does not give you green light, then the transmitter, game and controller aren't linked. In BHaH, the green light will not activate until you're out of the various screens and are in the cockpit on the ground or in the air. You will not get a green light by simply starting BHaH. plug_nickel (Al)
  3. I love your maps and use them each time I fly. I've got them in heavy, clear folders so I can write or trace routes. I also use them to document where my kills are when turning in claims. There's nothing like flying along looking down at the map to see where you and then looking up and over the side to see you've been in a mild turn or downward glide. Can be very exhileratiing. plug_nickel (Al) ps..is using a grease pencil cheating?
  4. Can't Run the Game :(

If you want to try again, do the following: Uninstall CFS3 and BHaH, if you haven't already done so as before and check registry for CFS3, BHaH and OBD entries. PLEASE be careful when checking registry; Use Driver Sweeper to uninstall current driver and Phys-X flies. When finished, boot into Safe Mode; Install 190.62 in Safe Mode and when finished, boot normally; Change your resolution as you would normally do and then disable Phys-X. Make no other changes in NV panel at this time; Check how your other games and software are running; Reinstall CFS3, patch to 3.1a, patch no-cd. Do not make any changes in CFS3 Config. Go to QC and take a free flight only and see how CFS3 runs. If satisfied then; Reinstall BHaH and and tick the option to pull CFS3 data from hd directory. Don't use the cd option; Then go through normal BHaH start up procedure allowing config to run, etc. If you're not sure about any of the above, please feel free to p.m. me. I hope you get into the air. plug_nickel (Al)
  5. Increasing OFF Performance

This shouldn't be happening. Running CFS3/BHaH on AMD multiple cores has been a problem depending on the mobo, its bios and o.s., thus having to set Affinity to single core. It should not be happening with any Intel quad or core 2 duo. I'd suggest you look into this more deeply. This is the first time, at least for me, where someone has had to set Affinity on an Intel quad in order to run BHaH. BHaH wants frequency and memory, not cores, but you shouldn't have to manually limit the proc. plug_nickel (Al)
  6. Increasing OFF Performance

To squeeze the most performance out of your pc, you'll also need to address what services are running and what their impact is on memory resources. BlackViper is probably the "holy grail" as to what services do and how they impact performance. I'm currently down to 17, I believe HomeBoy is down to 15. You'll need to do some studying and not just jump in; that can lead to a "borked" pc! Go to: http://www.blackviper.com/ and be prepared to study. It's worth it. To make the changes automatic whenever you start up BHaH or any other cpu intensive game, you'll want to use AlacrityPC. With it you'll be able setup profile(s) and restart any of the services that were temporarily stopped. BHaH is cpu intensive and memory demanding. I was running XP32 SP3 with 2gb of ram with my proc (X6800) at 3.45 without fsb bump. Sliders were 5-4-3-3-1, capped at 35fps. I'm now running XP64 with 8gb of ram, same proc setup and sliders are now at 5-5-4-4-2 capped at 50fps. If I go to "3" on the clouds, she'll drop to 46fps. And I'm still using my venerable 8800GTX w/o overclocking it. If you do nothing else, just be sure to turn off your A.V program, and if you're not flying online, disable your your internet connection (Network Connections). You'll pickup fps without having to go deep inside your pc. There are other "tricks" like moving the swap file to the middle of the platter or adding a dedicated second hd with the swap file loaded on the backend of the first hd. Since ram is so inexpensive now, you can increase ram in a 32bit o.s. to 4gb. The o.s will only be able to access 3.5gb of it due to its limitations, but you'll have an additional 1.5gb to use and that'll make a difference as well. plug_nickel (Al)
  7. 12 inches of rain so far; started last Tuesday. Another 4-6 inches expected through Wednesday. Fire Dept. has started evacuating people in the cul-de-sca behind us. The end of our cul-de-sca has about 2 feet of water and is slowly rising. Neighbors are preparing just in case. We have cars parked in front of house and as many in the driveway as we can fit. We're a "rest stop" right now as needed. I wish BHaH had an amphibian to fly: might come in handy later. plug_nickel (Al)
  8. OT: Austell on national tv.

Does "stuff" also include wife? Choosing between gaming paraphernalia and her, does that make her my "worse half"? Oh man, I'm going to be in so much trouble...lol... plug_nickel
  9. OT: Austell on national tv.

Thanks! Lots of runoff down the streets but the drains are handling it so far. I can see only standing water here and there, no flooding. What plane would you choose to put floats on? Since we don't have a Nupe 28 or Siemens, I'm leaning towards Spad because of its power. plug_nickel (Al)
  10. OT: Austell on national tv.

Well, when it rains, it pours. We're expecting 2-3+ inches of new rain today after 4 days of sun. Flash flood alerts have been issued and local police have issued warnings of flood conditions now developing north west of our subdivision. Packing again and moving stuff down into the garage just in case. Glad I didn't setup computer room! "We're" setting up a neighborhood watch through the evening to monitor conditions. Horns will start blowing if water starts to rise in the cul-de-sacs. plug_nickel (Al)
  11. OT: Austell on national tv.

Back in the house and on the laptop. At 2:05 this morning the water finally stopped rising. It was about 20 inches from our foundation. At 3:10 the water started to recede. At 4:15 the water had receded about a yard. Finally got a couple of hours of sleep. The "rest stop, watering hole and pit stop" is now open again. Made a couple of water runs for the people waiting in the heat to be taken by boat to their homes. The devistation is incredible. 33 houses are under water, but we and our neighbors up the road were spared. God was listening and was willing. I have a much deeper appreciation for "God is My Copilot". plug_nickel (Al)
  12. OT: Austell on national tv.

Thanks!!! Computers, controllers etc are ready to go. Did that first. Packing now: water rising about 10" p/hr. 20+ houses behind us are now about 18ft under. The creek's rising, so I'm hoping (praying) that God's willing. I haven't backstroked in years. Shoving off. (wife said cut the ***** on the laptop) lol! plug_nickel (Al)
  13. Can't Run the Game :(

When you "rolled back" the drivers, did you wipe out the Phys-X driver as well as the newer bits that 190.62 installs? I was having general problems getting NV driver to work properly and finally found that the driver cleaner I had been using for a long time didn't recognize Phys-X and several other entries that the newer drivers installed. I was getting error messages and when I didn't het the messages, several programs were just "borked". You may want to try a different d.c. plug_nickel (Al)
  14. UK_ is correct: you don't need to uninstall MAW, ETO, PTO, Korean Skies or even Fire Power which makes CFS3 version 1.8. OFF will pull what it needs from the CFS3 directory. plug_nickel (Al)
  15. Excellent points!. I was running XP32 with 2Gb with my swap file in the middle of the platter with BHaH loaded last. My proc is a X6800 @ 2.93. I had the fps capped at 35 with sliders set 5-4-3-3-1. I'm now running XP64, 8gb of ram, proc at 3.45 capped at 50 with sliders set 5-5-4-4-2. CPU and ram make a tremendous difference in performance. My vc is still my venerable 8800GTX. I think with a GTX 280, BHaH would literally fly when paired with fast proc and 8gb of ram. plug_nickel (Al)
  16. I'm going to offer my 2 cents worth about Nvidia oc software. Be very, very, very careful when using Ntune, especially when running EVGA, Foxconn or Sparkle NV gpu cards. The forums are full of "borked" oc's and trashed boards. I use Riva Tuner, and imho, it's the best, most trouble free oc tool for Nvidia video cards out there. plug_nickel (Al)
  17. Seven case fans: holy moley! That must add to the games ambiance when flying!
  18. Mother board drivers

Download SIW ( System Information for Windows ). It's an "adjunct" program and simply runs from icon; it doesn't install. Think of it as Belarc Advisor on steroids. You'll be able to see everything, and I mean everything that's in or on your pc. It'll save you having to open up your box to check numbers or keeping a file of keys or serial numbers for software. plug_nickel (Al)
  19. Setting...in CFS3

Take a look in Program Files or where Logitech installed. There should be a file or files that will allow you to adjust the joystick's null setting. You won't find that in System/Game Controllers. You might also check Logitech's site to see if if there's a driver/software update or program that will allow you to adjust null settings. My old Logitech Momo wheel installed with program that allowed me to adjust the wheel's "drift" and lock-to-lock response. Just a thought. plug_nickel (Al)
  20. Setting...in CFS3

Hey duck, I paid attention when you posted about XP64 earlier this year. I finally got it installed and now running 8GB G.Skill 6400 4-4-4-12 @ 1.6 volts. Bumped it to 4-3-4-10 @ 1.75 volts and it's rock steady. I tried to set it @ 4-3-4-9 but when I got close to 2 volts before she started to stabilize, I got to nervous and backed it down. You were right; having 8GB of ram has made a BIG difference in performance. Sorry if I've momentarily hijacked thread. plug_nickel (Al)
  21. O.T. Still flying RB3D?

Excellent idea. In for a penny, in for a pound. For those who want to go back into yester-year, I have the following: FCJ (BirdDogICT has that one covered),Baron Von Benz, Flander's Field, HASP(Hell's Angels), ROJ, ROJ3, Wester Front, CM11 and 13 + updated patch, RB143 patch, Reload and the last updated sound file I could find. Many of the above are still active on the web. If you want to try but can't seem to find, let me know. I have them on a dvd, but I'll make an ISO to compress. Some of these mods are up to ten files. plug-nickel
  22. O.T. Still flying RB3D?

I also had USB problems with different Dosbox builds. I finally went to De-fend Reloaded; it was just easier for me. WG was a bear to install in DOS days and that hasn't changed running under an emulator. You'll have to write several files to the WG config in order to eliminate running from the CD. Do a search on Dosbox forum and you'll find some very good entries that explain and show how to. plug_nickel
  23. O.T. Still flying RB3D?

Not weird: a "hopeless" diehard maybe. FS WWI is also fun to fly.
  24. O.T. Still flying RB3D?

That is a find indeed. The only other, I think, install that has RB3D + 1078 + XP fix is Gumps V2., but it's only 151mb. plug_nickel
  25. O.T. Still flying RB3D?

You can also look here: http://www.wingsofhonour.com/ The XP fix is there and many of the sites are still active. be sure and get reload.exe so you can use TIR. FCJ is not commercially available anymore. I've got many of the files on dvd backup. plug_nickel
