I salute you! Enjoy all of your experiences, and remember: GO NAVAIR!!!!! Navy Chief

In my opinion, the only way to have peace in the household is to at least let them THINK they are the superior being! In other words, "If mama ain't happy; ain't NOBODY happy!" Navy Chief

So...instead of the words "I am woman, hear me roar", it would be, "I am woman, hear me puke", right? Heh, heh...... Navy Chief

A friend emailed this to me a short while ago. Thought it was humorous. NC

Nope, the only things I modified was removal of a website name it came from, and the phone number. NC

"The Genie" A Petty Officer Second Class, First Class and a Chief are off the ship together for lunch. While crossing a park they come upon an antique oil lamp. They rub it and a Genie comes out in a puff of smoke. The Genie says, "I usually only grant three wishes, so I'll give each of you just one." "Me first!" says the Petty Officer Second Class. "I want to be in the Bahamas, driving a speedboat, a beautiful woman at my side and not a care in the world." Poof! He's gone. "Me next!" says the First Class. "I want to be in Hawaii, relaxing on the beach with my personal masseuse, an endless supply of pina coladas and a beautiful woman." Poof! He's gone. "You're next," the Genie says to the Chief. The Chief says, "I want those two back on the ship right after lunch." Heh, heh, heh..... GO Navy. Navy Chief

And then there's this one: A crusty old Chief found himself at a gala event downtown, hosted by a local (strictly women's) liberal arts college. There was no shortage of extremely young, idealistic ladies in attendance, one of whom approached the Chief for conversation. She said, "Excuse me, sir, but you seem to be a very serious man. Are you this way all the time, or is something bothering you?" "No," the Chief said, "just serious by nature." The young lady looked at his awards and decorations and said, "It looks like you have seen a lot of action." The Chief's short reply was, "Yep, a lot of action." The young lady, tiring of trying to start up a conversation, said, "You know, you should lighten up a little - relax and enjoy yourself." The Chief just stared at her in his serious manner. Finally the young lady said, "You know, I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but when is the last time you had sex?" The chief continued to stare at her and replied, "1955." She said, "Well, there you go; you really need to chill out and quit taking everything so seriously - I mean, no sex since 1955, isn't that a little extreme?" The Chief, glancing at his watch, said in his matter-of-fact voice, "Oh, I don't know. It's only 2130 now!" Yeah!!!! Navy Chief All for now. Off to go house hunting.

Yeah, I actually modified the phone number. "OU812" is something I picked up in the Navy many years ago. NC

Lexicon, I do understand your frustration in this. And I commend you for wanting to serve our country in the proud tradition of the US Marines. One thing you need to know, however, is that at some point, a background check will be done, and family/friends will be asked questions. If anything in your past, such as you alluded to, is brought up, and it is discovered that you lied, you are correct that you would probably be discharged. I doubt a dishonorable discharge would be assigned, however. Usually, a bad conduct discharge, or general discharge would be given, if I am not mistaken. You need to do what you feel is best for yourself, however. But be aware of the possible consequences. Good luck. Navy Chief

I won't be very active on the Bio site very soon, as I have started the paperwork with my local bank for a new mortgage. The road we live on is narrow, and filled with blind corners. The idiots who drive up here to rent cabins drive like fools, and I figure it's just a matter of time before I get hit. So, we're moving. Not too far from here, but to a location that does NOT have any rental cabins nearby, and we don't have to put up with strangers driving like maniacs. Wish me luck. I plan to keep our cabin and rent it out. Navy Chief

Cabins up where I live rent for about $125-$145 per night. That's why I am seriously considering hanging onto my cabin, and renting it. There is an "Apple Fest", where I live in Gilmer County, Georgia. It is the 9-10 and 16-17 October. Massive amounts of tourists (Grrrrrrr), and for those two weekends, I don't even go down the mountain to town. Traffic jams are horrible. NC

Yeah, well, I figure since they drive like they already OWN the road.....they can have it, but I hope to get paid back for some of it! NC

What about NAVAIRFACDILDOPAC? Heh, heh.... Navy Chief

Hey, what is this, pick on Chief jokes? Heh, heh, well then, you all need to know the rules: Rules as they apply to The Chief THE CHIEF IS ALWAYS RIGHT. IN THE IMPOSSIBLE HYPOTHESIS THAT A SUBORDINATE MAY BE RIGHT, SEE ABOVE. THE CHIEF DOES NOT SLEEP, HE RESTS. THE CHIEF IS NEVER LATE, HE IS DETAINED ELSEWHERE. THE CHIEF NEVER LEAVES WORK, HIS PRESENCE IS REQUIRED ELSEWHERE. THE CHIEF NEVER READS THE PAPER IN THE MESS, HE STUDIES. THE CHIEF NEVER GOES ON LIBERTY WITH HIS JUNIORS, HE CONDUCTS TRAINING SESSIONS. WHOEVER CONFRONTS THE CHIEF WITH AN IDEA OF HIS OWN, MUST LEAVE WITH THE CHIEF'S IDEA. THE CHIEF IS ALWAYS THE CHIEF, EVEN IN HIS SHOWER SHOES Learn it, know it, live it.. Heh, heh. I did. Navy Chief

Ok, here's the deal. I have not installed SP2 on my Game Hard drive yet; only my C: drive. I don't expect it to cause any difficulties, EXCEPT the firewall being on. I do not use a firewall with my game drive, as my router takes care of that. Have always had trouble flying online if firewall is on. Navy Chief

Hey Nesher, You're welcome for the PM. Stay safe, my friend, and remain vigilant. Navy Chief
-
Just an observation thus far, but no problems to report whatsoever. All seems to be working just fine. I will say this, though, the built-in popup stopper with SP2 works fantastic!!! Navy Chief

Pictures, Nesher....we need pictures (of the cute girl!). Navy Chief

It won't be the UN coming to monitor us; it will be folks from the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE). Either way, it is not a good thing if you ask me. NC
-
Too late. Already installed. I will be one of "those people" to give you a report of how's-it'going! NC Wish me luck. If things go South, I will NOT be a happy Chief.

Am downloading now. Any tips on install? NC

Happy Birthday Nick! I turned 51 this past Saturday. I officially don't have Birthdays anymore, though; the Navy took it away from me years ago. Firehawkordy, I'm sure you'll understand what I mean, eh? Navy Chief

Hey Finiteless, I read your post several times, and I have to agree with you on every point. Arrrrggghhhh!!! Seriously, I agree with you about the excessive spending and all, and at some point - whoever is in charge will have to raise taxes. What I do NOT want to see, however, is increased spending on social programs that have been proven NOT to work, and are nothing but handouts. I also do not want any control given to the UN. We must not give up control of our own defense forces, ever. Good post, Finiteless. Navy Chief
