I admit I do not know much about using VCs. Oh, I know how to select the view and all, but how are they used in the sim? Can you pan the VC? If so, how? What is the advantage of having a VC? Navy Chief

That is funny!!!! The thing is, I do recall there being quite a lot of vibration when I rode in them...heh, heh. Gotta tell you though, I was usually riding in one that was taking me OFF a carrier deck, so I did not mind the ride at all. Navy Chief

Hey Topgun Thanks for posting the url to download the update. I did so, and WHOA! Would you please post instructions on how to install it? The Readme file included with the update was obviously done, using a Japanese to English translation program, and it is confusing, to say the least. Ain't no way I will even attempt to install the update unless I can understand the process!!!!!! Navy Chief

A-6 And Ka-6 For Fs9 To Be Released Soon!
navychief replied to navychief's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator
An update on my contacts with Alphasim. I received a nice email from the designer of the RA-5C for Alphasim. He thanked me for my interest, and attached two files for the problem I have with the speedbrakes on the Viggie. Only problem is, even though I installed the files, the aircraft still will not decelerate quickly enough for landings. There must be a way to alter the cfg file to slow the aircraft down more for landing. But the aircraft is beautiful, and I am impressed with the quick response from Alphasim, and the aircraft designer. Navy Chief -
A-6 And Ka-6 For Fs9 To Be Released Soon!
navychief replied to navychief's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator
Hey Topgun, Thanks for the tip. Nope, I had not seen it. Looks like a quality product, though. This morning, I downloaded my first payware aircraft from Alphasim. A few months back, one of their designers provided me with a free copy of their A-7. Nice aircraft, but to be truthful, I was a little disappointed in it. This morning I downloaded the Alphasim RA-5C. Not too expensive at 9 bucks. Very good looking aircraft, and nice cockpit. Nothing spectacular, but very clean. The ONLY thing I don't like about it so far, is the apparent lack of speedbrakes. Unless I am just not finding the proper key to actuate them, I am not sure that speedbrakes are even in the Alphasim model of the Viggie. I wrote Alphasim. They replied, saying they had forwarded my inquiry to the RA-5C designer. I have not heard back from him yet. Also, Nick (Jinks) emailed me this morning, to let me know that Alphasim has posted a lot of their aircraft in their freeware section. Lots of aircraft that was formerly payware. A lot of it won't work with FS9, though; you need to check it all. Go Navair! Navy Chief -
Welcome to FS9, shipmate. All I can say is, you can say goodbye to your free time. Becoming obsessed with FS9 is not easy to resist!!!! See you online, bubba. NC

Am glad I read your post before I attempted to use Traffic Tools. I still have not figured out how to use AFCAD, and I know Traffic Tools would confuse me even more! Let me know if you get it figured out! NC

Hey Nick, I found the following post on Sim-Outhouse: SIM-OUTHOUSE Fairey Gannet Project. This thread relates to an earlier thread on this forum :http://www.sim-outhouse.com/forums/...p;threadid=8902 . Bazzar(Aeroplane Heaven) and Michael Davies(AlphaSim) are joining forces to create a Fairey Gannet especially for the delictation of our happy band of virtual thrill-seakers. As Michael suggested I'm going to sticky this missive for all to peruse, over the coming weeks, the status of this great project. Many thanks to Barry and Michael for getting drunk enough to suggest and agree to this undertaking. Regards Roger __________________ "To err is Human; to forgive is Devine" Hope they complete it soon! Pete

My CTX monitor died, and I replaced it with a Viewsonic Ultrabrite E90f. The improvement is amazing! Anyway, if you FS9 types have not found out by now, there is a new F-14A available on AVSIM, and yesterday an improved CFG file was also posted. Absolutely a beautiful aircraft to look at, and to fly. Go Navair. Navy Chief

Subject: Amazing Claude It was opening night at the Orpheum. The Amazing Claude topped the bill. People came from miles around to see the famed hypnotist do his stuff. As Claude took to the stage, he announced, "Unlike most stage hypnotists who invite two or three people up onto the stage to be put into a trance, I intend to hypnotize each and every member of this audience." The excitement was almost electric as Claude withdrew a beautiful antique pocket watch from his coat. "I want you each to keep your eye on this antique watch. It's a very special watch. It's been in my family for six generations." He began to swing the watch gently back and forth while quietly chanting, "Watch the watch, watch the watch, watch the watch ..." The crowd became mesmerized as the watch swayed back and forth, light gleaming off its polished surface. Hundreds of pairs of eyes followed the swaying watch, until suddenly it slipped from the hypnotist's fingers and fell to the floor, breaking into a hundred pieces. "S.h.i.t!" said the hypnotist. It took three weeks to clean up the theater.

I agree with you, Dagger. It is the governments of those countries who are the problem. I definitely do not hold any grudges against the soldiers themselves. NC

Hey Snapple, Oh yes, I do recall your having some rather "choice" comments on them. NC

A college professor, an avowed Atheist, was teaching his class. He shocked several of his students when he flatly stated he was going to prove there was no God. Addressing the ceiling he shouted: "God, if you are real, then I want you to knock me off this platform. I'll give you 15 minutes!" The lecture room fell silent. You could have heard a pin fall. Ten minutes went by. Again he taunted God, saying, "Here I am, God. I'm still waiting." His count-down got down to the last couple of minutes when a Marine just released from active duty and newly registered in the class - walked up to the professor, hit him full force in the face, and sent him tumbling from his lofty platform. The professor was out cold! At first, the students were shocked and babbled in confusion. The young Marine took a seat in the front row and sat silent. The class fell silent...waiting. Eventually, the professor came to, shaken. He looked at the young Marine in the front row. When the professor regained his senses and could speak he asked: "What's the matter with you? Why did you do that?" "God was busy. He sent me." One Nation Under God Navy Chief

Hmmmm,..... Might the problem be the soldier's left leg passing eerily through the seat he is on, outside the helicopter? Kinda obvious! NC
