The latest news: Senator Hillary Clinton was flying cross country last night and had to make a crash landing in Texas. She was unhurt but reporters were able to get a picture of the wreckage before it was hauled away. Heh, heh, heh.... Navy Chief

Oh come on, lighten up, would ya? Geez. NC

I would like someone to help me get started with VATSIM. It is more complicated than just selecting MP, and I need assistance in this. Please, if anyone out there flies VATSIM frequently, and has time to "tutor" me, I would really appreciate it! Navy Chief

Had a great flight in a C-9 today. Smooth landing too! Navy Chief

Am flying it now, actually.

Hey Dagger I know how to get into Safe Mode, but no clue as to what to do as far as registry mods, or anything else. Like I said, if it can be screwed up, I can do it! NC

Do not see server online at 7:50 pm, Eastern Time. Navy Chief

Hey Dagger Haven't tried the "Safe" mode yet. Like I said, I know enough about computers to get myself in worse trouble than I already am! Unless I have someone to guide me as I attempt what you suggest, I can just about count on smoke coming from my computer!!! NC

Archer Email me at retnavycpo@hotmail.com I can help ya. Navychief

Thank you all for all your suggestions. I have not been able to work on this more today, as I've been busy with other matters. I hope to continue working on fixing this tomorrow, though. I will keep you all updated on my progress. Thanks. NavyChief

Thanks Cretin for the information. I am running Norton again, but it didn't find anything on the first pass. Navy Chief

was not running anti-virus at the time. Am running a dsl router/modem. Believe it was a hijacker.

No, the runtime error is still there on startup. I click the notice, and it exits. But reappears at startup. The "Virus", if that is what it is, was something that changed my homepage to: http:/smartsearch.ws Again, DO NOT GO TO THAT SITE!! Bad JuJu. And, my game drive still does not list my other drives under My Computer. Very strange. NC.

Ok, now I have another problem. Until now, when I selected My Computer, all of the drives in my computer were listed, and I could access files from there. Not now. The only drive listed is my Game Drive, F: If I go to Computer Management, then all the drives are listed, and I can access files that way, but what the H.... is going on? HELP! NC

Thanks, Ghost Dog I appreciate your efforts. NC

I tried a system restore, but it said it did not have a restore point to go to, and there wasn't one available on the calendar that you choose from. There's gotta be a way to get to the bottom of this. Problem is, I know just enough about computers to be dangerous. I not EVEN going to make any changes to settings unless I know for certain that it will fix things. I have really made things worse in the past when I tried to fix computer problems! Usually costs me a lot of money to get things back to normal! NC

Well, I have Spyblaster, but it didn't find anything. The original problem was the "hijacking" of my IE browser. It changed my homepage to http:/smartsearch.ws WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT GO TO THAT SITE! I had not gone there, but some file I downloaded had the virus in it, and it got me. Anyway, I used CWShredder to get rid of the url, but something else has been affected by the virus; hence the Runtime Error. The message you see on the screen for "installing new hardware" is because it is trying to load a printer. I have never gotten around to loading it on my Game HD. It is loaded on my C: drive, but I don't need it on my Game Drive. So every time I boot, I get the message. I simply choose cancel, and go on. The problem I get now, is the Runtime Error message. No idea how to get rid of it. If it is a Windows problem, I don't know what to do next. NC Hey Gator, I contacted you via ICQ to add you to my list. Would be great to talk to you and see if you can help me fix this!

Well bad news. Ad-Aware found nothing. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.............. Navy Chief

Hey Gator, Thanks for the advice, and good luck on the outcome of your exam! We used to call taking the CPO exam as the "annual muster". Heh, heh. I already have Ad-aware, but had not run it. Am doing so now. I did, however, run Norton, and PC-Cillin; both with no luck. By the way, I reported to VA-83 in 1987. They were just returning from their last A-7 cruise. They did not cruise again until August of 1990. Pretty good planning on my part, eh? Oh, we did plenty of dets though! At the time there was a Senior Chief named Rodney Hamilton who worked in Maintenance Control. He was quite a character. Always kept us laughing. He was the type who believed that if the work was done, you secured and went home. Of course there were many other M/C CPOs who believed that if one workcenter stayed, then everyone did. Anyway, I will let you know if Ad-Aware fixes the Runtime error. I also ran Spybot, but it didn't find anything. Navy Chief

I just found and downloaded this beauty this morning! Looks and handles great! Only problem I have found is using the speedbrake. Don't use it! If you actuate the speedbrake, the aircraft goes into a dive, and unless you are high enough in altitude, you will not recover. Other than that, it's a beauty. Comes with three different squadron colors. Go Navy! Navy Chief

Sure! Go to: http://www.fsfreeware.com/dcd/New/ and scroll down! 'Tis a large file at 30 MB, so hope y'all got DSL or cable!! Now start all jets! Navy Chief

Seems like I read about a campaign called "Wings of Gold" some time ago. Is it still in development? Also, is a Vietnam campaign/terrain being designed? Thanks. NC

Sorry. I stand corrected. NC
