  3. I used to have this aircraft for FS2002, but when I did a reinstall, I tried to find it, and was unable. If anyone can locate this file, I would appreciate it! Thanks. Navy Chief
  4. The Way Things Used To Be....

ALL PEOPLE OVER 25 YEARS OF AGE SHOULD BE DEAD To the survivors: According to today's regulators and bureaucrats, those of us who were kids in the 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's probably shouldn't have survived. Our baby cribs were covered with bright colored lead-based paint. We had no child proof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets, and when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets. As children, we would ride in cars with no seat belts or air bags. Riding in the back of a pickup truck on a warm day was always a special treat. We drank water from the garden hose and not from a bottle. Horrors! We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle, and no one actually died from this. We ate cupcakes, bread and butter, and drank soda pop with sugar in it,but we were rarely overweight because we were always outside playing. We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the street lights came on. No one was able to reach us all day.No cell phones. Unthinkable We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then rode down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem. We did not have Playstations, Nintendo 64, X-Boxes, no video games at all, no 99 channels on cable, video tape movies, surround sound, personal cell phones, personal computers, or Internet chat rooms. We had friends! We went outside and found them. We fell out of trees, got cut and broke bones and teeth, and there were no lawsuits from these accidents. We made up games with sticks and tennis balls and ate worms, and although we were told it would happen, we did not put out very many eyes, nor did the worms live inside us forever. We rode bikes or walked to a friend's home and knocked on the door, or rang the bell or just walked in and talked to them. Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn't had to learn to deal with disappointment. The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke a law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law. Imagine that! This generation has produced some of the best risk-takers and problem solvers and inventors, ever. The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas. We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned how to deal with it all. And you're one of them! Congratulations. Please pass this on to others who have had the luck to grow up and live through those dangerous times. Doesn't it kind of make you want to run through the house with scissors? Makes you think, doesn't it? Navychief
  5. The Way Things Used To Be....

I thank you all for the comments, however, I am not the author! I do not know who actually wrote that piece, but it really "hit home" for me, and I wanted to share it with you all. I will say this, whoever was the author had to have been born/raised during the 60s, as the things he mentioned were all too familiar. Navy Chief
  6. The Way Things Used To Be....

These days, I have a lot of time to reflect on my life. The Navy kept me busy, to say the least, for 20 years. To be honest, I wish I was still on active duty. Even though I didn't like the changes taking place in "today's Navy", I look back on those times as being very fulfilling, and happy. So much of my time is spent on the computer; whether flying sims, or reading/answering posts on these types of forums. About three years ago, I quit drinking. No regrets there. I drank a lot in the Navy, and continued doing so for several years until I decided it was time to give it up. I do enjoy this forum a lot. So many intelligent folks, and it is so nice to have contact with people with the same interests. All for now, shipmates. Navy Chief

Hey TC223 The museum is actually on NAS Pensacola, but Corry Station is very close by. I was a Advancement Exam writer for the AME rating from 1990 to 1993, and lived part of that time period onboard NAS, and at Corry. Nice area. If it didn't cost so much to move these days, I might consider moving back to Pensacola. Navy Chief
  8. Need Help Locating Aircraft For Fs2k2

Thanks shipmate!!!!! You came through for me; I appreciate it! Btw, be sure to contact me when you get on shore again, so we can fly on the Bio server. A couple of nights ago, I started flying a series of hops in Australia, and it is a real blast. Am also gotten more active in the Virtual US Navy squadron VRC-30; practicing traps at NAS Pax River, rwy 32, using FD3. The addon scenery was originally designed for FS2K2, but works fine in FS2004. Great fun! Navy Chief
  9. Need Help Locating Aircraft For Fs2k2

The aircraft is a mod of the P-3 Orion, called the EP-3 Aires. The squadron depicted is VQ-1 "World Watchers". Navy Chief
  10. Need Help Locating Aircraft For Fs2k2

Hey Dagger Thanks for the tip, but I have already tried the usual locations, including Simviation, AVSIM, FSPlanet, FSDOME, etc.... and can't find it. Perhaps it is no longer available, but hopefully someone out there has it. Navy Chief
  11. Count me in, MJ! Great idea! Of course, I will be flying Navy. Probably an A-7, or EA-6B; possibly a EP-3. Navy Chief
  12. Abacus...these Guys Are Great!

Hey Dagger I had the same impression of Abacus when I called them for support on FD3. I had some questions for them, and they were most helpful. The software developers at Abacus are MOST interested in any ideas for improving FD3. Anyone who has FD3 should email Abacus with their suggestions. The support folks at Abacus made it quite clear to me that they will definitely listen to us. Navy Chief

My wife and I will be at the "birthplace" of Naval Aviation: Pensacola, Florida, from the 8th to the 12th of December. We plan to spend a lot of time at the Museum of Naval Aviation, and a visit to the USS Alabama at Mobile. I will be taking a lot of digital pictures, so you can count on seeing them shortly after we get home. The United States Navy. Best canoe club around! GO NAVY! Navy Chief
  14. Hey all. It gets lonely up in these virtual skies. Y'all come join me, eh? Time to do some carquals!!!! Navy Chief
  15. Bush's Speech

Hey Seawolf, When Bush wins, it would be great to have a live video feed from Tim Robbins house, and Barbra Streisand's house...to see the horrified look on their faces when they realize the Republicans will remain in charge. Heh, heh, heh.... Navy Chief
  16. Flight Deck 3...

Dagger FD3 should have set the scenery up automatically. I do know that the folks at Abacus are good about support. It's not a toll free call, but they do take the time to help you. Unless someone in this forum can provide you with the answer to your problem, of course. Navy Chief
  17. The Way Things Used To Be....

Memories are a wonderous thing, aren't they? I recall the days as a teenager, how much I longed to be away from home and under the control of my parents. Seemed like I thought they were the dumbest people in the world back then. And then I grew up, and realized how fortunate I was to have had such wonderful parents. They are both gone now. Life has not been the same since, or ever will be. When your parents die, I believe part of you dies as well. Were it possible to go back in time to my childhood days of the 60s, I would go there immediately. They were the best of times. Navy Chief
  18. Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving from the North Georgia mountains! Navy Chief
  19. New Patch???

    Standby for incoming. Navy Chief
  20. New Patch???

Yes, there will be a patch. No date on a release, but there will be one. EOS. Navychief
  21. Hey Jinks I have a configuration problem with Arr Cab in FS2K. I must have added the scenery incorrectly, because the carriers are colorless, as are the figures on the flight deck. Additionally, when I try to activate the cats, it says they are not configured correctly. Not sure what to do next. Navychief
  22. Flight Deck 3 Video

Hey Beer! I noticed that the color of the sea in my FD3 surroundings are much lighter. Any tips on how to fix mine?
  23. Us Navy F3h Demon

Hey Jinks! I didn't find one for FS yet, but I DID find an excellent site about the Demon at: http://www.f3hdemon.homestead.com/ Navychief
  24. What's Up With The Brits??

Flag Burners? Oh, it's best that we don't open up that topic. Grrrrrr...... Navy Chief
  25. What's Up With The Brits??

Hey Seawolf, I agree with your sentiments about the rioting idiots in Florida. Just another reason for the EXISTENCE of BIRTH CONTROL!!! As for the Brits? Yeah, well, like Bush said, thank God for their right to free speech. I wonder if any of them gave a thought to what would have happened to them for such a demonstration in Iraq when "Yosemite Saddam" was in power? Bozos, all of them. Go Navy. Navychief
