  1. Calling Jinks.....arr Cab Problems.

Hey Jinks Thanks for taking the time to provide me with instructions. I appreciate your efforts immensely! Nesher, not to worry. Thank you for your ideas, though! Navychief Jinks, I have been busy today with our animal rescue. We have a lot of cats here, and subsequently, a LOT of kitty litter to change!
  2. A-7e Cockpit

Great picture of a SLUF cockpit, Jinks. The cds you sent me arrived today, in good shape. Thanks! A little later on today, I will install them on my hard drive. I am having some problems with the carrier addon scenery that I added to my FS9. Perhaps you can help me with it, when you have some time. I have a Vietnam Era vehicle, called a M274 Mule, that I have to work on a little today. It won't idle. I am going to try and get it loaded on a trailer to take to a repair shop tomorrow. I think the problem is the carburetor, and can't get the old one off the engine. Time for a "real" mechanic to help. Thanks again! Navychief
  3. New Navy Recruiting Slogan

Hey Snapple, "Guess the Navy or Marines is the only way to keep a family, and serve at the same time, although my dad does give my sis alot of crap for joining the crotch." Think again. The Navy and the Marines have a very high divorce rate. I can personally vouch for how hard it is to maintain a relationship, while being deployed nine months out of a year. Damn near impossible. Were I to do things over again, I would have stayed single, period. A whole lot easier on one's mind, and not to mention WALLET! NavyChief
  4. New Navy Recruiting Slogan

Air Force/Navy Boat Race The Navy and the Air Force decided to have a canoe race on the Potomac river. Both teams practiced hard and long to reach their peak performance before the race. On the big day, the Navy won by a mile. Afterwards, the Air Force team became very discouraged and depressed. The officers of the Air Force team decided that the reason for the crushing defeat had to be found. A "Metrics Team," made up of senior officers was formed to investigate and recommend appropriate action. Their conclusion was that the Navy had 8 seamen rowing and 1 officer steering, while the Air Force had 1 airman rowing and 8 officers and NCOs steering. So the senior officers of the Air Force team hired a consulting company and paid them incredible amounts of money. They advised that too many people were steering the boat and not enough people were rowing. To prevent losing to the Navy again next year, the Air Force Chief of Staff made historic and sweeping changes: the rowing team's organizational structure was totally realigned to 4 steering officers, 3 area steering superintendents and 1 assistant superintendent steering NCO. They also implemented a new performance system that would give the 1 airman rowing the boat greater incentive to work harder. It was called the "Rowing Team Quality Air Force Program," with meetings, dinners, and a three-day pass for the rower. "We must give the rower empowerment and enrichment through this quality program." The next year the Navy won by 2 miles. Humiliated, the Air Force leadership gave a letter of reprimand to the rower for poor performance, initiated a $4 billion program for development of a new joint-service canoe, blamed the loss on a design defect in the paddles and issued leather rowing jackets to the beleagered steering officers in the hopes they would stay for next year's race. Enough damage for one night, heh, heh.... NavyChief
  5. New Navy Recruiting Slogan

TDY An Army grunt sitting in a foxhole, eating MREs and wearing 50lbs of gear after having marched 12 miles, says: "This sucks." A Navy seaman sitting on his 5' X 2' bunk, in a closet-sized room smelling of oil and rolling from the waves, which he shares with 6 other men, after not having seen the sky for 30 days says: "this really sucks". A marine, doing push-ups in the mud during a downpour, after an 18 mile march with 60 lbs of gear, says: "I love the way this sucks, oorah!" The special forces green beret crawling through a leech-infested swamp, eating nothing but bugs and tree bark for 6 days, sneaking around past armed terrorists, says: "I wish this could suck some more!" An Air Force pilot sitting in an easy chair in an air conditioned hotel, holding a remote control, says: "no cable? this sucks!" Navychief
  6. Now This Is Funny!

A few days ago I was having some work done at my local garage. A blonde came in and asked for a seven-hundred-ten. We all looked at each other and another customer asked, "What is a seven-hundred-ten?" She replied, "You know, the little piece in the middle of the engine, I have lost it and need a new one.." She replied that she did not know exactly what it was, but this piece had always been there. The mechanic gave her a piece of paper and a pen and asked her to draw what the piece looked like. She drew a circle and in the middle of it wrote 710. He then took her over to another car which had its hood up and asked "is there a 710 on this car?" She pointed and said, "Of course, its right there." Picture attached.......hehehehe Navychief

  8. East Coast Nas Afcad's

Hey Jinks Thanks for clearing that up. I guess the reason for the AI is for increased realism? NC

  11. New Navy Recruiting Slogan

The National Science Foundation announced the following study results on U.S. military recreation preferences: Sport of choice for Marines: bowling. Sport of choice for Sailors: football. Sport of choice for Soldiers: baseball. Sport of choice for Coast Guardsmen: tennis. Sport of choice for Airmen: golf. Notice how the farther down the list you go, the smaller their balls get. 12. A7e Colors Part 3

Great pictures, Jinks; thanks! Looking forward to flying FS2002. The Virtual US Navy has a NAVAIR section, with a VRC air group. I plan to try flying with them too. Check it out. Navychief
  13. Virtual Us Navy Site

  14. For Navair Lovers

Hey Jinks You surely do know how to make my day. GO NAVAIR!!! I suited up once for a Viggie ride. One of the Hyd pumps blew, the aircraft was downed for maintenance, and I never got another chance. I did, however, get plenty of other rides; my favorite being in the F-4. Navychief
  15. Navychief, Look...

Hey Jinks Alpha Simulations appears to be down. Can't access it. The RA-5C I downloaded from AVSIM a while back works ok, but the landing gear are not visible. Small thing, but annoying. NC

  17. One of the more knowledgeable types needs to jump in here, and offer some advice to you. I am sure they can clear things up for ya. Navychief
  18. There should be a readme file with each addon, telling you how to install it. I just did a search to see if there was a message outlining the procedure, but didn't find one. That doesn't mean the info isn't available; just that I couldn't find it! Navychief
  19. My vote? The SLUF, of course! The almighty attack A-7E Corsair. Navychief
  20. Favorite Movie

    Hey Catbutt!
  21. Veterans Day

    Most definitely. Navychief
  22. Favorite Movie

Well, you really need to narrow the type of movie somewhat. If you are talking comedy, I would say "Animal House". If the topic is war movies, then I would say, "The Great Escape"
  23. Navychief, Look...

Hey Archer I was not a pilot, but I can tell you that just BEING on the flight deck when those aircraft are trapping at night is dangerous. You can't even see your hands in front of your face. Only flashlights with red or blue lenses are allowed on deck during night ops, and the amount of light they provide is useless. Then there's the tiedown chains. You haven't experienced pain until you trip over a tiedown chain, and smack your head/face on the nonskid of a flight deck. Hurts like h.... Yep, working on the flight deck is not glamorous, to put it mildly. I can only imagine the stress a pilot feels when coming in for a landing on a carrier. Navychief
  24. Navychief, Look...

Hey Jinks! Great pictures! I especially like the RA-5C, and the VA-37 A-7E! Have not found a RA-5C for FS9 that has visible landing gear. The one I downloaded was for FS2002, and some of those models appear that way in FS9. Also, I haven't downloaded the Osprey yet. Thanks for the pictures. I hope to someday get as proficient on landings as you are! Navychief
  25. Happy Birthday

    Oorah! Navychief
