Just wanted to post a picture of the X-Plane version of the A-6. I just downloaded it, but haven't tried it in X-Plane yet. Am sure looking forward to the SFP1 version!!!! Chief W.

Ain’t it the truth? A Marine stands in the rain with a 35-pound pack on his back, 15 lb. weapon in hand, after having marched 12 miles, and says, "This is the s**t!" A Green Beret stands in the rain with a 45 lb. pack on his back, a weapon in hand, after having jumped from an airplane and marched 18 miles, and says with a smile, "This is good s**t!" An Army Ranger lies in the mud, 55 LB pack on his back, weapon in hand, after swimming 10 miles to shore, crawling through a swamp and marching 25 miles at night past the enemy positions, says with a grin, "This really is great s**t." A Navy SEAL, up to his nose in the stinking, bug infested mud of a swamp with a 65 LB pack on his back and a weapon in both hands after jumping from an aircraft at high altitude, into the ocean, swimming 12 miles to the shore, killing several alligators to enter the swamp, then crawling 30 miles through the brush to assault an enemy camp, says, "I love this s**t." A Navy Chief, 40 lbs overweight, sitting in his easy chair aboard his air-conditioned, state of the art warship 50 miles off shore says, "My e-mail's out? What kind of s**t is this?"

I was with VA-15 onboard the USS Independence when we launched an attack on Syria in 1982. Our XO, CDR Leslie Kappel, was flying A/C 314, and it was hit by shrapnel from a SAM. He landed back aboard, stating the aircraft was an "Alpha" jet; which meant it was ready to get fueled and relaunch. Well, upon a quick further visual inspection, it was VERY quickly determined that the aircraft was not going up again for a while! I have had this picture on my wall for years. I thought it was time to scan it, and post on Bio. During the same attack, CAG Ed Andrews was flying another of VA-15's aircraft, and was shot down. He was rescued and brought back to the Indy, safe and sound.... Chief W.

Oh yes, I agree totally about the "Viggie". The RA-5C Vigilante was a beautiful aircraft. It was, however, a hydraulic mechanic's nightmare. Leaked constantly. I only had brief enounters with Viggies when I was assigned to Pax River, MD in the early 70s. I worked on the ejection seat systems on two viggies attached to the North Site Maintenance division. I had this patch, since I was with VFA-83 (Rampagers) onboard the USS Saratoga during Desert Shield, back in 1990. I lost the patch, but a friend sent me a picture of it. Love it. Chief W.

Unfortunately, I didn't have anything to do with the design of the patch. Actually, I was lucky to hear about it even being sold. Some crewmembers on a destroyer escort for the USS Saratoga, were selling the patch, and a few ended up onboard the Sara. Chief W.

Here are some pictures of RA-5C Vigilantes. The one in dark colors was an experiment during the Vietnam War, using a different paint scheme. Chief W.

I am really looking forward to carrier ops. Maybe I am reaching here, but what would be neat would be if different carriers could be added; i.e. Bon Homme Richard, Shangri-La, Bennington, and other ships from the Vietnam era. It truly impresses me how these modifications are done. I have no idea how they are created, but it is obvious that a LOT of hard work go into creating them. Speaking for myself, I sure do appreciate all the work that has gone into this game. Chief W.

I would like to download the F-86 file, but unless you are a member of AVSIM (which I am not, and don't plan to join), it is virtually impossible to download anything. They say you can, but all I have ever got is the message, "All nodes are busy; please try again later." Of course, if I join, that message won't appear. Nope, not gonna join. Chief W.

I agree it is probably an S-3, but what about a C-2A Greyhound? Chief W.

I just wanted to post a picture of an F-14 from VF-143 Pukin' Dogs. http://www.air-navy.com/ Great site, for those who like Naval Aviation pictures. Also, I included some shots of some "pregnant guppies", or also known as T-2C Buckeye's. Chief W.

I agree, Column 5. I had the good fortune to have had several flights in T-2s, back in the mid-70s. Loved every minute of it. Those aircraft were built to take punishment. Very sturdy airframe. Chief W.

You know, I have had this game for over a year now, and have never played it once. It is a very intensive sim. Very complicated, if you ask me. It would be neat to have someone show me just what it can do! Chief W.

Duly noted, MJ I admit that I tend to get "heated" when I read an opinion that is the opposite of how I view things. Respectful restraint is needed more often than not, eh? Taps, taps.... Chief W.

I won't deny that past administrations have made mistakes. That does not, however, mean that the current President and his administration should do nothing because of poor judgement. And I do not accept the notion that because of past US foreign policy, that we are to blame for the atrocities that Saddam Hussein has committed!! Our President has made the right choice. The regime in Iraq was evil and dangerous. The UN showed its true worthless colors when it became clear that Saddam Hussein had to be removed from power, and they did nothing but ask for more time for inspections. It is clear that more time would have only given Hussein a chance to increase his offensive capabilities. Liberating Iraq is just. 9/11 was a despicable attack. The US has got to defend itself against terrorists worldwide. Our President has, and is doing his sworn duty to protect our country.
