  1. Well done! A most impressive addition to SF! I look forward to the completion of the pit, but what you have accomplished thus far is commendable. Thank you. Chief W.
  2. Hey AmourDave Ditto, concerning your comments. I, for one, know absolutely nothing about how to mod anything (including a plank of wood!); and I salute you sir, for all your hard work. Chief W.
  3. Geez...

Thank you Jeff I truly hope you do track the person down who was responsible. Such a sick, and twisted individual should not be allowed to get away with it. Chief W.
  4. Fast Eagle?

Hey all I just wanted to post a message of support for one the the US Navy's finest, Fast Eagle! Be careful out there, sir. I salute you for the job you are doing for all of us at home. I wish you nothing but "OK3" landings!!!! One of the three pictures I posted is of Tomcats flying in formation. Those aircraft are none other than the Famous VF-143 Pukin' Dogs! GO NAVAIR! Chief Ward
  5. Time to ratchet up the action....

Ok, So now the Iraqis have captured some of our troops, and not surprisingly, are not abiding by the Geneva Convention. Perhaps it is time to quit being the "nice" guy. Can you say saturation bombing? It may be the only way to assure annihilation of the evil regime in Iraq. Innocent people will undoubtedly fall victim to such attacks, but HELLO?.... THIS IS WAR! The Iraqi evil regime is ensuring that their propaganda is given plenty of air time. I think it is time for our electronic surveillance planes to identify the source of their transmissions, and drop a MOAB on them, IMMEDIATELY. Either we increase the aggressiveness of our attacks, or things will only get worse for us. As for those who are mistreating our soldiers, I hope they die a very slow and painful death. Sorry. I am furious at the state of events from today. A firing squad for those Iraqis involved in today's actions against our soldiers...is too humane of a way to die.
  6. Well, I have used HL quite a lot for playing MP, but not much as of lately. I have been busy with a lot of things, and am also waiting for the next patch which will hopefully fix the MP issues. Chief W.
  7. I wonder what Saddam Hussein is thinking right now?

Well, "Yosemite Saddam", even though he may have convinced his people that he is invincible.......must surely know what is in store for him. Personally, I would like to see him killed, and NOT let go free. Years ago, Ugandan dictator Idi Amin was allowed to leave his country and go to Saudi Arabia. There, the Saudi government provides him a comfortable living for him and his FOUR wives! To me, it is ludicrous that such criminals should be allowed to go free. Banning them from their own country just does not seem to be enough punishment. They should be forced to live in squalor, and made to work for whatever meager pay received. Consider all the people that Saddam has killed. Is it just that he be allowed to live in relative luxury, and go about his daily life, considering the crimes he has committed? Why is it that a leader of a country should be exempt from criminal prosecution? RHIP, I guess, when it all comes down to it. In closing......GO GET'EM BOYS! and FAST EAGLE!! Smoke-Check some Ragheads for me! Chief W.
  8. Well I tried several times, unsuccessfully, to install the F-86 Drop Tanks. Oh, the loadout screen SAYS they are there, but they wouldn't show up on the screen. Now I have corrupted the damn files, and am forced to do a complete uninstall/reinstall. This is really getting old. Chief W.
  9. Ok, folks I am abou to deep six this computer. I have edited the Weapons and Gun Data and Ini Files. I rebooted. The loadout for the F-86 SAYS there are TWO drop tanks, but when the screen shows the aircraft on the runway, there are NO drop tanks. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ANYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Chief W.
  10. EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- Air Force officials tested a Massive Ordnance Air Blast weapon here March 11. The MOAB is a precision-guided munitions weighing 21,500 pounds and was dropped from a C-130 Hercules aircraft for the test. It is the largest non-nuclear weapon in existence. The after shock was felt as far away New Orleans, where the French Quarter surrendered. Hehehehehe.... Chief W.
  11. What if it happened to the French?

I received this today; thought it was a good one... I edited the last word, but am sure everyone can figure it out... Chief W.
  12. My other hobby.....my M274 Mule

Hey all About a year ago I bought an M274 Mule from a collector in Illinois. He buys them from all over the country, and then resells them. I had always wanted one, as it is the perfect offroad vehicle. They quit making them in the late 60s, but the mule is one tough machine! It has four wheel drive AND four wheel steering! Wish I had the bucks to buy a demilled 105mm cannon for it..... Chief W.
  13. Has anyone noticed a resemblance?

I keep seeing Iraq's Deputy Prime Minister, Tariq Aziz, spouting his lying mouth off on the various news stations, and have always thought to myself that he looks so familiar to me. I figured it out! Remember the character on the TV show, "Bewitched"? Larry Tate? Look at the pictures, and like FOX News says, "You decide". HA! Chief W.
  14. A screw it.....lets go kill someone

I am retired, but BELIEVE ME, if they would take me back on active duty, I would be MORE than happy to get thrown back into that briar patch of a war! Go get'em boys......hit them hard and fast. I heard that one of the mouthpieces for Saddam said that every one of the US soldiers that even attempts to step onto Iraqi soil will get killed. Yeah, right. Chief Ward, AMEC(AW) Retired PROUDLY
  15. YES!!! Bring on the Corsair! Boy, I gotta tell you one thing. Those aircraft could leak some hyd fluid! Many's the time I would be on the cats with the troubleshooters when they were called to look at a hyd leak. Most of the time they would look at the panel, wipe it off, and say "launch it". The running joke was, "If it ain't leaking, it's out of fluid." Hehehehehehe.... I am SO looking forward to flying the A-7. Brings back many memories as an Ejection Seat Mechanic. Great seat, the Escapac. Easy to remove and work on too. Bring it on! By the way, is the idea of adding the RA-5C Vigilante still on? Chief W.
  16. What if it happened to the French?

Hey XO, So why don't you say what you really feel? Hehehehehe.... As for me? Well, I don't drink anymore, but if I still did, I wouldn't be buying any more French wines. (Not like I did, to begin with!). Chief W.
  17. I reported to NATC Patuxent River, MD in April of 1973. At that time, the North Site Maintenance Division of the base had one F-8 Crusader. I was an Aviation Structural Mechanic on Egress systems. My supervisor was AME1 E.J. Ditlovson. Both he, and another member of the shop, AME1 Nelson, hated working on F-8s, and I soon found out why. There are two trunion bolts that hold the Crusader's Martin-Baker ejection seat in the aircraft. Mainly the bottom bolt was the problem. There is minimal clearance to get any type of socket tool to fit on the bolt. In fact, we had to shave a socket in order to get one to attach. There was virtually no way to remove that bolt without losing some skin. Both bolts had to be torqued to quite a few foot pounds, using a 90 degree elbow and two extensions. I recall that whenever a seat removal was scheduled for the F-8, that tempers would flare in the shop. All Navy aircraft from the Vietnam era had beautiful paint schemes. I remember that the Corrosion Control workecenter of my squadron (VA-15 Valions) had the task of repainting the aircraft as part of 40 Day inspections. The aircraft tail was the most time-consuming of all. You can see by the pictureI attached how much time was involved. Some time in the late 80s, I think, the Navy went to a tactical gray scheme for all Navy aircraft. The CO's plane was allowed to have some color on the tail, but that was all. Chief Ward
  18. whats this one mean?

I got the same message when I just tried to post... "Could not find email template file topic_notify" Chief W.

  23. Very impressive! I downloaded and installed it. It flies very nice, and lands easy too! Only question I have is with adding the data to the WeaponsData.ini file. Is that file located within another folder that I need to extract the ini file from? I cannot find it. But the Sabre jet is definitely a fine achievement! THANKS!!! Chief W.
  24. I found these on a US Navy site, and wanted to post them for all to see. Fighter Squadron One Four Three (VF-143) is featured in these photos. Fast Eagle, as you head back to the ship, here is a quote that I deem most appropriate: The object of war is not to die for your country but to make the other bastard die for his - George Patton Go get'em, Skipper! Chief Petty Officer Ward, US Navy, Retired
  25. See ya for now

Hey Skipper Do me a favor? Please write a message to "Yosemite Saddam" for me on one of the missiles they'll load on your Cat, eh? Something like BOHICA!!!! When we hit Granada years ago, we wrote things like, "Good Morning, Grenada", and "F*** You, Fidel......" There were so many sailors from all the squadron workcenters, helping the ordies load the bombs. Everyone wanted to help. The aircraft launched off the "pointy end", and returned empty. We knew the bombs had made their target. Be vigilant, Skipper. Take out a few camel jockey's for me, eh? AMEC(AW) P.C. Ward, USN Retired
