I just downloaded this off of the NOAA site. Unbelievable. Navy Chief

Silly me for thinking the US is not to blame for the attacks on 9/11. Of course we are. NOT. Navy Chief

Dagger and all you other Marines will appreciate this, When I was on Okinawa for a month-long det in 1996, we went through a typhoon. I was stuck in a barracks on the airforce base with about 15 Gysgts. We had about 15 cases of beer, and enough MRIs to last the storm. Naturally, everyone was instructed to stay in the building. At one point, I looked out the window, and there in the parking lot, were two Marines, with a shopping cart, complete with broomstick and bedsheet, ......sailing across the parking lot. It was hysterical! Fortunately, they didn't get hurt. Navy Chief

I heard on the news the other day that this storm, if it does hit Florida, will be the most powerful hurricane to hit there in a century. Navy Chief

I also find disturbing the huge numbers of people who plan to vote for Kerry; not because of his "Plan for America", or his "leadership" abilities, but rather because of their extreme hatred for Bush. I actually have seen interviews with people who admit that they distrust Kerry, and don't particularly agree with his ideas, but they hate GWB so much, they'll vote for anyone. Now then, isn't THAT something to be proud of? Not. Navy Chief

You definitely have concerned friends here, Chaingun. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Navy Chief

All we can do, the Israelis, and the rest of the free world....is to combat terrorism as best we can. There will always be terrorismin some form, but perhaps the best we can do is let the terrorists know that we will NOT give up without a fight. Navy Chief

Nesher, I have nothing but true respect for the plight of you and your fellow countrymen. It must be an awful way to live, wondering if you can even get on a bus and get to your destination alive on a daily basis. Stay safe, my friend. For what it is worth, you have my support, to be sure. Navy Chief

I first met my wife, "Cat", when we both worked at The Home Depot in Canton, GA. I worked in Inside Gardening, and she worked in Plumbing. Quite commonly, the employees in our store wore pictures of their pets on our aprons. Both Cat and I did the same. Some of you may recall my beloved Siamese "Armand", who passed away last October? Well, I had his picture on my apron, and Cat had a picture of one of her cats, named "Mountain Dew". "Dew", as she called him, is a cat that she rescued as a kitten from behind a Mountain Dew vending machine, located in front of a Ingles Grocery store in Canton, GA. The kitten was near death, and it took almost a year from that point to get him back to good health. Anyway, it was discussions about cats that brought us together in the first place. Our mutual love of animals is so strong, and our lives are centered around making sure they are taken care of and loved. "Dew" is quite a character, by the way. His face is the most expressionable I have ever seen in a cat. Navy Chief

Rudy Giuliani just finished giving a speech at the Republican Convention. It was the finest speech I have heard in years. Heartwarming, patriotic, uplifiting, postive, but more than anything.......truthful in every way. I am glad I tuned into CSPAN for once. Good for you, Rudy. The "Gipper" would have been proud. One of our foster kittens met our Rottweiler, "Chief" today, and was not impressed. She had her butt backed up against the screen on our porch, and I yelled for my wife to come take a picture of her. Chief, on the other hand, took it all in stride as usual. Navy Chief

Snap snap, grin grin, wink wink, nudge nudge, say no more? Heh, heh... NC

Just found the transcript to Rudy's speech on the Fox website at: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,130670,00.html A truly outstanding speech, in my opinion. NC

Hey Firehawkordy, O.C. is a cool name. We have a white cat (named W.C., of course!). My neighbor is a 80 yr old Cuban, who is a retired piano teacher who loves the classics. When we first told him that our white cat's name is W.C., he thought that we were saying, "Debussy", the composer!! NC

Fates, That video was horrible! I hope the cat was ok. We have 22 of our own cats here; not counting the ones we are fostering. One of the foster cats disappeared earlier this week, and has not returned. "Sandy" is his name, and is blind in one eye. Although I still hold out hope he will make it home, it appears something happened to him. Navy Chief

Duck, Creepy,.....DUCK! You've got nerve, I gotta tell ya! NC

Thanks, Foofighter Appreciate the apology. Politics surely does bring out the ire in us, doesn't it? I try not to let it do that, but there are times...... NC

Hey PG, Chief is doing fine. We had his left hind leg operated on to fix his injury to his "kneecap", but have not done the same surgery to his right hind leg yet. It costs 2K per leg. Chief is walking fine on his bad leg now, and is not in any pain; so we are postponing it for now. We'll have it done probably next Spring, unless his problem worsens. What with the costs of our moving, I am trying not to make my finances any more of a problem! Thanks for asking. Chief says, "WOOF"! NC

Well, it looks like we will close on the "new" house on 15 September, and my wife and I are NOT looking forward to this move. Although we don't have a large house full of stuff to move, there's enough that I am dreading this. I moved into this cabin in January of '98, and thought it was my last move then. Wrong. And then there's effects of age to consider. I am seven years older, and the body doesn't "cooperate" like it once did, eh? My saving grace is my wife. She has energy to get things done when I do not, and that's a good thing. When she decides to start cleaning a house, I get the heck outa the way. The woman is like a tornado. Once we are somewhat settled, I will have to start looking for a good used farm tractor. I am thinking along the lines of an old Ford 8N. I am not knowledgeable at all about such things, so you farmer-types out there feel free to offer some advice. I cannot afford a newer tractor, so that's why I am considering an old Ford. 'Course I will also have to get a bush hog, and probably a finishing mower attachment. Hopefully next year, once the financial dust has settled, we plan on getting a couple horses. My wife had several horses during her childhood, and has missed having one. It isn't possible to have one where we are now; darn covenants prevent it. And so, once things are back to "normal", if that's possible for me, I will post some pictures of me on "the farm". Looking forward to being there, but not the process of getting there. Navy Chief

Well Mongoose, One thing would be assured if your crew did the repairs: It might not be done right, but it would be hilarious to watch!!! Here's the website photos for the house we own, and are trying to sell: http://www.headforthehills-mountainrealty....RiverRanch1.htm Navy Chief

Oh, it isn't that I mind getting my hands dirty; but it's just that I am not much of a handyman at fixing things. That's why I try to get things that DON'T need repairs!!!! Ejection seat and pressurization system maintenance? Yep Home repairs? Nope NC

Oh, I almost forgot to mention! The home inspector who looked at the house last week was named none other than Mr. Hainey!!!! I about died laughing when I found out. One big difference, though. This Mr. Hainey was NOT a con artist. This guy was thorough as heck, which is a good thing. NC

Thanks, Scout. Right off the bat, I have things to get fixed; but I guess that's the price I have to pay for peace and solitude. Green Acres is the place to be......heh, heh. NC
