From what I have come to know from Retd Vice Admiral Pasricha, who flew Sea Hawsk off the INS Vikrant, those numbers were not given by the Navy. Whichever airframes had those numbers(074, 077 etc), they were all Ex-Royal Navy sea hawks refurbished for the Indian Navy. I will look into his book and PM you the list. -

Removing Antennas from stock models
ghostrider883 posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - Mods & Skinning Discussion
A few days ago, I remember a screenie where the antenna(s) on the tail were removed from the stock F-4E model( teh tail was of TuAF F-4E IIRC). Is it possible to do the same on the stock MiG-21bis model? I ask this because the Indian MiG-21bis models lacks the antennas on the tail & under the nose. Will it be possible to remove those antennas in the stock MiG-21bis model using the same way as the TuAF F-4E mentioned above? Actual IAF MiG-21bis SF MiG-21bis model -
Got my copy of this book recently. Its titled "Downward, Four Green" and its by Vice Admiral Vinod Pasricha (IN, Retd). The author was the former CO of the No.300 Sqdn "White tigers" , which during his time, was flying Sea Hawks. More info on the book here This the first attempt by an Indian author and a former Naval aviator to write an entire book dedicated to an aircraft. Its quite a big book and contains various section as mentioned in the link. It is like going back in time and actually witnessing Sea Hawk operations, right from its induction in the Navy, the troubles faced ,crashes, acquistion of German Sea Hawks etc. The author has gone painfully into detail in each & every section. I ended up being the first fellow to order this book and got it neatly autographed by the author himself .

Has anyone been in touch with Bunyap lately? If yes, how to contact him? This is regarding something important about his 3D work, specifically his Sea Hawks. -

Yes, I know that he doesn't do stuff for SF anymore and my query wasn't about pestering him for SF mods. He hasn't been active here since 2007. Having worked with him for modding his Hawker Sea Hawks into dedicated Indian Navy FGA.7, MK.100 & 101 versions way back in 2006, I had his e-mail id, but for some very odd reason I can't find his e-mail id in my e-mails. Anyway I wanted to get in touch with him since I have a message for him from someone who actually flew Indian Sea Hawks. Just wanted to get this message through to him, that's all. It'd be great if anyon who is touch with him could PM me his e-mail address. -

English. The HAL built MiGs & Sukhois had/have english letterings. The early MiG-21s, I believe, had russian letterings in the cockpit. -

Pakistani pilot writes after 46 years to daughter of Indian pilot he shot down
ghostrider883 replied to ghostrider883's topic in Military and General Aviation
No doubt, it was a great gesture from the PAF pilot and it has been appreciated here. I guess he was doing his duty when he followed ordered to shoot down the civvie plane, he acknowledged the fact that the Beechcraft kept on rocking its wins to show that it was civilian and he wasn't happy to of having done what he did. But then, there is also the angle that they were waiting for the aircraft to show up and shoot it down. I think its a complex issue and its best not to take sides on this issue. The actual truth, only the PAF pilot knows and the people who lost their lives when the Beechcraft went down. Wreckage of the beechcraft that was hown down by PAF F-86s -
