  1. Happy Birthday Wpnssgt

    Happy Birthday Mike
  2. First of many to be uploaded soon: IAF Type S-22 Fitter, No. 32 "Thunderbirds" Sqdn , circa 1971. For howling1's superb IAF Type S-22 Fitter mod. This will appear soon in the Indian AF/Navy skins section. Thanks to Dave for creating this section here at CA.
  3. The MiG-21FL's fin is much larger than the PF. Only adding a a drag chute container won't completely make it look like an FL. However, it will atleast make the PF look like and FL . So if that can be done, please go for it
  4. That's because we are using WoE/WOI's MiG-21PF model for the MiG-21FL IAF Type 77 mod. There is not dedicated 3D model for the MiG-21FL. The FL has PF's front part(front opening canopy) & MiG-21PFM's tail type. Atleast now we have an accurate, removable GP-9 gunpod for Indian FLs. MiG-21FL: MiG-21PFM:
  5. Yup, its the GP-9 on the belly. A GP-9 gunpod had been on the IAF MiG factory wishlist ever since the first IAF MiG pack mod was released in 2004(or was it 2003?). And now 4 years later, we have a GP-9 gunpod model for the FL to hunt those pesky PAF Starfighters . The GP-9 model has been built by Amokfloo(thanks a million Florian, we owe you a lot of thanks for this one) & kukulino for fitting it on the PF .
  6. The Battling Fishbeds.... No. 29 Sqdn "Scorpions" No. 47 Sqdn "Black Archers". MiG-21FL C-750 was the mount of Flt. Lt. B.B. Soni on 12 December 1971, when he shot down a PAF F-104A piloted by decorated PAF Wg Cdr. Mervyn Middlecoat near Jamnagar(which is not that far away from where I live) Brown Green Camo C-1111 with kill markings(No. of bombs released & K-13 missiles fired) And probably the most well known camo painted on an Indian Fishbed.... The above 'Tiger Stripes' skin is Marcelo's work for the MiG-21PFM which I adapted for use with MiG-21FL mod. Need to fix decal locations since it uses new patch MiG-21PF lod. Can anyone notice anything different with this MiG-21PF model ? (Thanks to Amokfloo & kukulino).
  7. What do you Drive?

A Maruti Suzuki Swift ZXi, 2007 model. Small car, small engine(1.3L) but great fun to drive, specially in crowded areas , dodging crazy drivers of bikes, autorickshaws, handcarts and the occasional cow or a buffalo . Got Airbags, ABS, Alloy Wheels, Automatic Climate Control among other goodies. Good mileage too.....16-18 Kmpl on the highway.
  8. Acc to IAF designation: MiG-21MF = Type 96B (airframes supplied directly by Russia) MiG-21M = Type 96 (Manufactured under license in India - It was a MiG-21MF with FL's R-11 engine) MiG-21bis = Type 75 ((Manufactured under license in India) MiG-21bis UPG(21-93) = Bison (Son of a bis!!!!!!!!!! :haha:)
  9. The camo sported by Su-7s during its last days with the IAF:

  11. Nope. I resized the stock MiG-19 256X256 skin to 512X512 and worked from there. The skin had been lying on my HD since April 13, 2006(the day it was created) I also have to make changes to the decals.ini for the unreleased MiG-21FL skin for your Type 77 Fishbed Update....the new lod has messed up decal locations all over. I had made those skins using howling1's v1.8 IAF Fishbeds. Me too
  12. that was the dilemma faced by commanders those days. I guess the basic aim was not to lose excess drop tanks, as it may have ended up grounding the Su-7 attack fleet. There is a wonderful video on youtube shot by a BBC journalist during the 1971 war in EAst Pakistan that shows IAF Hunters attacking Dacca, and a Su-7 getting hit by AAA and cart-wheeling to the ground, with its pilot ejecting .

  15. Had fun while trying to fix a bug in the skin..... Somewhere near Sakesar hills,Pakistan.... My flight spotted a lone Hunter heading towards the border after a strike mission. Manuevering for a shot... Good Tone!! Fox Two!!! Scratch One IAF Hunter..
  16. The Su-7 barely had the range to hit targets in Pakistan without drop tanks.
  17. Like this ? Skin for Crab_02's PAF F-6A This F-6 wearing a desert camo scheme belonged to the No. 25 Squadron "Night Strike Eagles" . Some of the No. 25 Squadron F-6s participated in the 1971 War wearing this very color scheme and at least two of them - flown by Wing Commander Saad Hatmi (CO No. 25 Squadron) and Flight Lieutenant Shahid Raza - intercepted and shot down two IAF Hunters in the Soan valley near Sakesar hills.
  18. Dammmmnnnnnnnnn!!!!!!!!!!! Can't wait to see it with IAF roundels ,finflash & "Bharatiya Vayu Sena" painted on the fuselage.
  19. Thanks guys. Glad you like it . This is next: A Su-7 sporting one of those hastily pained camos during the 1971 war. While reading a book on the 1971 Indo-Pak war, I read something interesting. The reasons for high Su-7 losses by the IAF were attributed to 1. Multiple strafing runs & rocket attack passes on targets (something which the Su-7 was never meant to do). 2. Pilots being told not to jettison underbelly drop tanks as there was shortage of Su-7 drop tanks.
