  1. Yup, that's the one. Though howling1 was talking about uypdating it to latest patch standards. Its is sad to not have him around the forums anymore :(
  2. Great work Dels. Thank you very much
  3. The MiG-21M was license manufactured in large numbers in India by HAL and was designated as the Type 96 Fishbed by the IAF. howling's MiG pack has the MiG-21M modelled with correct engine parameters, it was otherwise similar to the MiG-21MF. And yes, none of the Indian Fishbeds(F,PF,FL,M,MF,bis) had chaff/flare dispensers. Conformal CM dispensers are there on upgraded Indian MiG-21 Bisons.
  4. India, Russia sign pact to build combat aircraft

International Politics & Stupid Politicians thinking that everything "gora" is gold and everything "desi" is third grade messed up the last Indian fighter project, that of the HF-24. It had great potential of being a super mult-role fighter, but for the lack of proper engines and radar. Hope the LCA does not meet the same fate. LCA's MMR(Multi-mode radar) development has not been satisfactory and Israeli help is being taken for its further development. Highly unlikely that it will go into service with the first LCA Sqdn. http://www.ada.gov.in/index.html And guess what? The Defence misniter today stated that the Govt, in principle, has agreed for sending IAF fighters to participate in the Red Flag exercises in the US. And the Commies as usual, were at their stupid best once again. The CPI general secretary A B Bardhan is clearly not amused. "What the government is doing is wrong. American war plans are aggressive and are always against smaller nations. We cannot be a partner in such plans,"
  5. Great work Julhelm. Would love to do a Indian Navy 300 Sqdn fictional skin..a logical step up for the White Tigers from the Sea Harrier
  6. India, Russia sign pact to build combat aircraft

Oh Yeah ? Tejas fires first missile First step towards weaponisation . Alteast right now, the LCA's programme is much ahead than the JF-17 "Bandar"
  7. IAF and IDFAF to exchange pilots

It would be great if this happens .Would be great to see two countries having a common enemy come together  More such exchanges should take place, may be some joint air exercises as well. It would give Indian pilots much needed experience flying in and against the F-16. Paki pilots get to train on MiG-29s and Mirage 2000s through their Arab brothers . Though previously, I read on BR that a Indian MiG-21 pilot was deputed to Israel to fly F-16s in Israel and on his return he was posted to one of the Mirage 2000 sqdns. Bet Indian pilots flying F-16s would really piss off the Pakis Domestic Indian politics plays a role too in such exchanges. Commie morons in India could get up raise a protest over this as it hurts "historic" relations with Iran, I wonder what historic relations those Commies are taking about because Iran has always been hostile towards India . Fools!!!!! Israel has become India's second largest defence equipment dealing partner after Russia. Right fro the Phalcon AWACS, EL/M-2032 radar & Derby missiles for Navy's Sea harriers, Spyder QR SAMs for the Army and acc. to unconfirmed reports the AF's Maritime Jaguars have been upgraded with the Israeli EL/M-2032 radar. Indian AF Su-30MKIs and Bisons are equipped with Israeli equipment and jammers. The proposed IAF Mirage 2000 & MiG-29 UPG is built around a heavy Israeli equipment involvment. The first sqdn of Tejas LCA may be equipped with an Israeli radar and missiles. Atreides, There is mistake in the aritcle. India only has one MiG-23 sqdn, that too of a ground attack MiG-23BN variant in Wild Weasel role(No.221 Valiants). The MiG-23MF was retired last year. The other MiG-23BN sqdn converted to MiG-27M long time back.
  8. Guerra do Ultramar 1960 - 1974

Thanks. I read somewhere that a Portuguese Constellation escaped at night flying exteremly low level over sea to Pakistan and then onto Portugal. I wonder why Portugal did not base any fighters in Goa or Diu.Rumours were that there were some FAP F-86s based at Dabolim in Diu, hence the heavy bombardment of Dabolim airfield by Canberras. Mau be next time when I go to Diu, Iwill get some pics of the big Portuguese fort & church in Diu :) .
  9. Guerra do Ultramar 1960 - 1974

Hey Piloto, Do have any information about a Portuguese AF Lockhed Constellation that escaped from Goa during the 1961 India-Portugal skirmish? Apparently, A Constellation took off at night and escaped to Pakistan during Indian Army,Navy & Air Force onslaught.
  10. Infidel of the week

  11. I look forward to making them for your wonderful model. Dont forget IN, ICG and IAAC skins
  12. 21 years in captivity... Ron Arad!

I can understand the anger and frustration over the issue. There are cases of ambushed Indian Soldiers, Pilots and Navigators who bailed out over Pakistan during the 65 and 71 wars, were captured alive in Pakistan and were in Pakistani jails. Many of the mstill have not come back. Pakistan refuses to reveal what is status of those brave men. While India released all Pakistani POWs , Pakistan detained many Indian PoWs. Its been more than 35 years now.
  13. Great Work Florian. Keep up the good work

Chetak is the License built Indian version of the Alouette III by HAL(Hindustan Aeronautics Limited). It is operated by the Indian Army Aviation Corps, Air Force,Navy & Coast Guard. It is flown in the Anti-Armour, CASEVAC, ASW, SAR and transport roles. IAF Chetaks Indian Navy Chetaks Once it is ready for release, I'd be happy to make Indian skins for it ;).

  18. India to buy 197 helicopters for army from EADS

The Dhruv simply can't match the Cheetah's high altitude performance. The Cheetah had been performing high altitude CASEVAC mission for years. Cheetah was the only helo capable of landing at the Siachen Glacier, the world's highest battlefield. THe Cheetah is the only link to those brave army men battling the odds in Siachen.

  20. I, for one, would love and be proud to see the Marut in game I would be interested in making the decals for it . But did you get any decent 3-view drawings for it? I have one , but its pretty low res. It was designed to be an interceptor as well as a strike aircraft. But the lack of good engines limited it to the ground attack role. The Marut saw action in the 1971 war. Maruts were serving with No. 31 & 220 Sqdns. A Marut pilot even shot down a PAF F-86 during the 1971 war. No Maruts were lost in air to air combat. Four HF-24s were lost to Anti-Aircraft fire.
