Hi Reddevil911, not so much a mod as a way of defining AI aircraft in relation to each other or in relation to your own aircraft. For example, consider the following extract from a recent mission I'm working on. It shows two F-100Ds on final approach to Phu Cat for a pairs landing, and also a couple of F-4Cs on a pairs takeoff from Da Nang. (This is all hand-crafted as I find it easier to define exactly what I want using a text editor, rather than use one of the mission editor utilities for SFP1 etc.) ....................................................... Static SFP1 Stock Aircraft Pack

Light statics are represented by all friendly aircraft in the game and these are extremely stripped down versions of the originals. A light static should not hit your FPS as much as an original flyable one. Heavy statics, which I sometimes call 'Touchable'* statics, contain the minimum changes necessary to make them static. These statics can be destroyed by the weapons in the game, including cannon fire. They are ideal for use on enemy airfields as part of strafing missions. Therefore, heavy statics represent all of the enemy aircraft in the game. *Remember the scene in the 1987 film Untouchables, when the guy gets wasted in the lift? Touchable. Get it?! This mod includes .ini files and details on how to make static versions of all of the stock aircraft in WOE, to populate your airfields. [updated to v1.1] I included too many statics in the v1.0 pack - due to my 'clean' WOE install not being as clean as I had envisaged (I had inadvertantly added Carrier-based aircraft to my clean WOE install without mentioning where they could be sourced. Oops. Sorry about that). This new pack now contains just the original (out-of-the-box) static aircraft for WOE. [Credits] Many thanks to TK for providing the originals as part of WOE. KC-135 etc tankers and AWACS()
comrpnt replied to Shin_kazama's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
Hi Shin, the A310 MRTT works fine in WOE... Available here...www.avsim.com, then do a search in the File Library on 'MRTT' (you'll need to register/login first but it's free). You should find it ok, it's still there I just checked. Gramps' RAAF skin is here: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autom...p;showfile=2504 Alternatively you could make use of the most excellent Victor tankers by the SFP1 Dev A-Team: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autom...p;showfile=3368 and here http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autom...p;showfile=3364 All of these aircraft work seemlessly with WOE, as well as WOV. Black Buck 1 (WOV) v2.10

File Name: Black Buck 1 (WOV) v2.10 File Submitter: comrpnt File Submitted: 4 Mar 2007 File Updated: 13 Jul 2009 File Category: User Made Missions Welcome to Operation Black Buck 1 - SE Asia Style! [update v2] This update uses the A-Team's Vulcan B2 add-on aircraft, instead of the Victor B2 of the previous versions. I've also removed some of the static aircraft that populated Puh Cat and Cam Rahn Bay. Now you're left with Vulcan B2 and Victor K2 statics, which simplifies the installation process. [update v2.10] This mod has been updated on request to remove direct links to any Capun and A-team prerequisite models. Instead, please contact Capun for access - details enclosed. [Credits] First, many thanks and all credit to the A-team and their contributors for producing the Vulcan B2 and Victor K2 add-on aircraft and also for granting me permission to post the related B2 and K2 mods which this mission relies upon. If there are any problems with this mission or referenced B2 and K2 mods then please contact me directly, not the A-team. Thanks. [Why?] Some people have asked Why? or Why do this RAF mission for WOV? Well, until the Falklands add-on (courtesy of Kesslebrut et al) becomes available this is the nearest mission profile you can fly for the Vulcan or Victor aircraft that mimics the essential parts of the Black Buck missions. [Overview] Pilot your Vulcan B2 V-Bomber to rendezvous with Victor K2 tankers rotating out of Phu Cat and then on to your target of the Hong Gai generator station in the far North, a key strategic target. [Historical Basis] The transition and attack of the target in this mission replicates many of the aspects of the original Black Buck mission from Ascension Island to Port Stanley airfield in the Falklands in May 1982, all within the confines of the WOV playable area. See http://www.britains-smallwars.com/swbooks/Vulcan-607.html for a detailed account of that first mission. This is the nearest I could come to simulating this famous RAF mission given the geography of the maps provided with either WOE or WOV. Bascially you've got a night formation flight long distance over water to hit a target miles away from any friendly support. Oh, and then you've got to get home again. Sound familiar - read Vulcan 607. [installation Instructions] ReadMe files for the mission and accompanying static aircraft installation are included in the .zip file, together with appropriate copyright information. Regards, Paul T. Calling Florian -AmokFloo- Schneider. Anyone know his whereabouts?
comrpnt replied to comrpnt's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Hi guys, thanks for the quick responses. The consensus of opinion seems to be that provided (1) an attempt has been made to contact the author beforehand, and (2) appropriate credit is given to the original author, then in the absence of the author a mod to their work can go up. If we're all agreed gentlemen, then I'll prepare the aforementioned A310-MRTT static for posting. Yes? Kind regards, Paul T. (comrpnt) -

File Name: Victor K2 refueling drogue lights File Submitter: comrpnt File Submitted: 2 Mar 2007 File Updated: 13 Jul 2009 File Category: Ini Edits This mod adds small lights to each of the refueling drogues of the A-team's K2 Victor tanker (similar to my earlier mod on the A310-MRTT http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autom...p;showfile=2992). Many thanks and credit to the A-team for producing the K2 and also for granting me permission to post this mod. If there are any problems with this mod then please contact me directly, not the A-team. Thanks. Update V1.10 This mod has been updated to remove direct link details to the original A-team Victor K2 model. To acquire the model contact Capun at capun1950@yahoo.com to request access. To install, simply replace the existing file VictorK2_DATA.INI with the new version I have provided here. There are also a few minor tweaks to the anti-collision lights included in the mod. Nothing else has changed in the _DATA.ini, only the lights. Cheers, kind regards, P.T (comrpnt). :-) Click here to download this file -

Hi folks, this mod adds a new RAF 57 Squadron Camo skin to the excellent Victor K2 tanker, produced by the A-team. Many thanks and credit to the A-team for producing the K2 and also for granting me permission to post this mod. If there are any problems with this mod then please contact me directly, not the A-team. Thanks. The 57 Sqn K2 camo skin is derived from the original Victor B2's camo skin, with additions to make it usable with the K2s HDU and refueling drogues. I've also included the 57 Sqn crest, and tail crest. Installation instructions are included in the enclosed readme file. Cheers, kind regards, P.T (comrpnt). :-) -

Hi folks, thought this might be of interest to those of you that like to test or hone their reflexes: http://www.iol.ie/~dluby/escape.htm I've seen one version that claims that US Pilots are expected to last for longer than 2 minutes. Who can last the longest here? Bets! Kind regards, Paul T. (comrpnt)

Does this qualify for a speed record flying backwards?

Cool pictures SayWhat?! Might give it a try :-) Hi Sparker, to open the canopy, for example in an F-4E, add the following entry to the end of the [Fuselage] section in the F-4E_data.ini file... [Fuselage] ... SystemName[018]=Canopy Where [018] needs to be the next number in sequence for your version of the aircraft data file. Then, also add the following section later in the F-4E_data.ini file... [Canopy] SystemType=HIGHLIFT_DEVICE DeploymentMethod=AUTOMATIC_SPEED Setting[1].Angle=30.0 Setting[1].DeployValue=15.0 Setting[1].RetractValue=10.0 MaxDeflection=30.0 MinDeflection=0.0 ControlRate=2.0 AnimationID=3 That should do it. The canopy will pop open below 30kts and close above 30kts to an angle of 30 degrees from horizontal. Cheers, regards, Paul T. (comrpnt) -

Hi Bluzman, for the A310 MRTT look here: www.avsim.com, then do a search in the File Library on 'MRTT' (you'll need to register/login first but it's free). You should find it ok, it's still there I just checked. Gramps' RAAF skin is here: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autom...p;showfile=2504 Alternatively you could make use of the most excellent Victor tankers by the SFP1 Dev A-Team: http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autom...p;showfile=3368 and here http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autom...p;showfile=3364 Kind regards, P.T :-)
