It is impressive, I love the space battles, and the details on the ships just want to make you cry, well.. somewhat. The only thing that got to me was the lag on maps like Tatooine Mos Espa and one other. But riding the imperial bike on Endor is a blast! I can't wait until the snow speeders and AT-AT's make it into battle.

If you like Kannazuki no Miko, or at least the Shouji-Ai fan part, check out Strawberry Panic. Also, Kyoshiro to Towa no Sora, there are 2 characters that look very identical to the two main characters in Kannazuk no Miko, and not only that they are supposedly reincarnations of them, some sort of alternate universe or a story telling in the future aftter Kannazuki no Miko. I enjoyed Elfen Lied, i was kind of dissapointed that they didn't give me a little more with the ending, and the manga didn't quite satisfy that either, but all in all it was still quite fun. I actually Have Godannar and will problably get started on it soon, but I'd say check out Desert Punk, it can be quite hilarious and perverted at times. But it's still pretty funny watching the "Demon of the Desert" kick some a. Claymore. You should check that out. Problably not going to make adult swim with all it's gore and violence (not as bloody as Elfen Lied but plenty of heads and other ligaments being detached from the body in one way or another. Basically female super warriors, in a sense, in that they are half-human, half-yoma (half-yoma=half-demon, or something like that). Anyway lots of awesome fighting scenes (these women wield swords taller than them like they were toothpicks, come on now, thats a win automatically). If you are looking for something more light-hearted or on the romantic side, I just finished 2 that were quite interesting. Seto no Hayanome, boy meets, and gets involved with mermaid girl, and Nagasarete Airantou, boy runs away from home and lands on island full of girls and talking animals! Let's see, History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi was fun, light-hearted martial arts comedy/romance/action. Tokyo Majin Gakuen Kenpuchou, i don't know if I mentioned this one earlier, but it's interesting, about a group of kids who fight zombies, demons, and other strange creatures. It can be dramatic at times but overall I liked it. They already finished the first season and are working on the second at the moment, but I can't seem to find the episodes. That's all i got for now, well at least what I wanted to type in. Yea I've watched like almost 200 anime and still haven't seen stuff like Yu-Yu Hakesho, Rurouni Kenshin, GG, and some of the others you others have mentioned, woohoo!

That just makes me want to cry it's so beautiful -
I bet that pilot was like "I can't believe this! I just got home and I left my wallet at work, I need to go back and get it" Does a quick 3-way turn.. and heads back as fast as possible X-).

Wings over Europe 6 : Fires of Liberation
raidenandsolid replied to kei nagase's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Well to be honest, I plan on owning both, but going for the ps3 because of the aformentioned titles X-). But yea if AC6 is going to be ported to PS3 afterall, thank goodness I am an idiot in this situation. Even though I will be getting an xbox as well, I'd enjoy the game more using the PS controller/stick/any other gadgets than what XBOX has. -

lol imagine seeing the weapon from AC4, AC5 (that enormous Arkbird or the falling satellite X-|.) or EXACLIBUR from AC0 in this the TW series. I will never expect it to happen but just imagine how freaky that would be to be flying a normal CAP, anti-ship, recon, etc etc. then all of a sudden out of nowhere this huge blue laser comes flying at you and annihilates your squadron!! ZOMG FTW... lol... i'd laugh before i got mad that I got shot down. But yea I'm interested to see what the WMD will be in this new game. I'm just so mad that I have favorite titles that not only jumped ship to X360, but made themselves exclusive for it (AC6 the main culprit so far, but I surely hope Resident Evil 5 does not do the same). Either way I will still be getting PS3 for MGS4, Gran Turismo Revolution, Final Fantasy 13 (i've seen a few screenies and it looks quite interesting) among others... so in the end im going to waste money on both systems... but that is down the road from now so no rush. -
Well if you like to play Battlefield 2 without worrying about ranks.. Check out Project Reality mini-mod. It adds more realism to the game, and EU has its specific weapons/vehicles/etc. US has its own, and there is the MEC and newly introduced Insurgent side (they even have a civilian that if you kill you lose points and intelligence lol.).. But yea I hope the CWC mod team can still pull out something reallly good even though they removed that whole side.
-
I have been watching it too myself SayWhat?! since i play alot of ZH mods myself (so far RE3 is my favorite, even though it has its fair share of problems). What made me mad was that they decided to toss the EU side of units and only be left to US vs Rus? I can't remember who the opposing side is but they said due to time constraints or something they decided to get rid of the EU side altogether. Of course with how long they have since started on it up to this point, I don't understand why they can't just work on getting them back in since it doesn't look like they will be done within the next month or two, or so on. I was dissapointed to see that but it still looks like CWC will be a good mod. I enjoyed the demo so im hoping for good things.

Yea, they are pretty good. I'd say check out Code Geass's intro by FLOW and also Murder Princess's intro by Back-ON.. they are pretty good as well.
-
Yea there is a BB near here, but ill be making trips to B&N soon. Yea Scanlations are a toss-up, but ive seen some popular anime with horrible fansubbing quality, and I mean miss-spelled words, let alone bad grammar. Which bleach intro? there are like 6 now. First was by Orange Range, of course most of their music isn't as good as I liked, but the song was good, then I believe it was High and Mighty Color, and then Uverworld, then Beat Crusaders (4th intro, there song "Tonight, Tonight, Tonight" was pretty good), then Yui with their song "Rolling Star", and then 6th one ALONEZ by Aqua TIMEZ. Eurekes op's from the first to the third are my favs, the 4th one was kind of dull. Check out Air Gear's opening Chain by Back-on, the way the sound is mixed with different styles make it quite good. Their other music is quite good as well.

Some of the manga I picked up with the help of a friend is I''S, Air Gear, NANA, xxxHOLIC, and Wallflower (aka Perfect Girl Evolution, aka Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge). Some are drama, some are comedy, some a romance, but I've watched the anime for all and are quite intriguing. Wallflower is quite hilarious for a comedy about 4 pretty boys and 1 extremely gothic/wannabe emo girl. I'd recommend it if you like comedy, definitely will catch more than a few chuckles. EDIT: So yea I found out there is a B&N like less than 4 miles away, so I didn't look hard enough, but ill surely be making visits soon. Now I just need to find an ADV distributor here in Houston, since I believe their man HQ is here.
-
Err im sorry, I meant to say I have Direct TV... sorry the idiot in me X-|.. Oh I read manga that I get from a website that provides scanalations. I plan on purchasing some as well, but the closest book store only provides educational books and such. I'll have to look up online to see if there is a barnes and noble or such near here that provides manga. I've looked before but to no avail, maybe I just skipped over something. Yea, there are some anime's with good intro, in fact I have gotten hooked on some bands/singers because of it, even though I don't completely understand japanese. It's just the flow of the sound and the way their voice matches the flow that makes it quite awesome.

I agree, which amazes me why some people don't understand why the market is not so booming over here. Sigh... I live in Houston, Texas where the anime licensing/dubbing company ADV is located. Every now and then there are conventions here (I have yet to go to one, but I am scared I will only meet idiot fan-boys or mindless cosplay girls... not that I don't like the latter half, but I would want to go to talk to manga writers and animation writers/directors to hold intellectual but short conversations about their work). Of course I can't seem to find a manga story distributor for the life of me, but best buy and other places distribute Anime DVD's.. The only problem I have with anime is even if I get really into it, I can't keep up with japanese names, namely do to the fact that alot of names, especially males.. are repeated over.. and over... and over.. Such examples are Kazuki, Yosuuke (or Yosuke), some others I can't remember off the top of my head, but you get the idea right? Not that I don't thoroughly enjoy those anime, but the nomenclature just makes me go -.- Anywho, You are right, thats why anime 16+ in hapan get read as 18+ over here. Well i'm not going into politics here, but it's a shame that we can't bring some very nice works over here for public viewing, OTHER than Cartoon Network (the more younger anime such as Naruto/One Piece/Yu-gi-oh/Yu-Yu Hakusho (no longer running on CN) and Adult Swim(Bleach,Trinity Blood, Gundam, Ghost in the Shell... a very nice work indeed.. especially the movies, Eureka Seven, Trigun, Cowboy Bebop... well.. the list goes oN). I heard there is some channel specifically for anime on some cable network, but I own Dish so sadly there is none for me. I know the Sci-Fi channel does anime monday at night but I prefer to watch on more days than one. Well I have ranted long enough in this post. Any other anime you want to have a conversation about? I have watched more than enough to fill my tastes, but still enjoy them. In terms of mecha anime, im about to pick up on RenXaphon and a few others, but that seems to be the biggest titles atm.
-
lol lets leave that debate to them. There are many reasons I like both, in fact im rather 50/50 when it comes to quality (obviously because of the last years when it has gotten better, not in the early years) but will take subs first because they are released first (and ADV, Funimation, Bandai, etc. wonder why the market isn't as big as they like it to be). If we could get American anime drawn more frequently, and not the disney crap, I mean some with more adult/sci-fi/mech/adventure/etc etc. themes that was actually released in American before the Japanese anime was imported, the market for anime from both countries would increase. But of course we change the ratings that japanese place on their anime to a higher age group. Like if its 15 for them, its 18 for us. @FalconCAF I agree as well, i'm just saying for those more adult roles, some Japanese VA (seiyu.. i believe is the term.. sp?) just don't quite meet my expectations, and what is worse is when the English counterpart screws it up, then the anime just vanishes completely. I've heard some kid roles botched as well, but not as frequently as the older women (even men) roles.

Code Geass. Its basically about people from japan who get invaded by a country called Britannia (interestingly enough its basically america that has taken over more than 50% of the countries on the planet). Anyway One of the main chars get's some power to control people's minds and uses it in his quest to take back Britannia and reclaim it as Japan. Sigh... my description sucks but check out wikipedia and it'll give you a better description. While I can agree early on that american dubs suck, within the last 10 years alone some dubbed anime have proved worthy adversaries to their japanese counterparts. Golden Boy, an ecchi/comedy anime's american dub totally blew the japanese actor out the roof. Of course it was an OVA and only 5 episodes long but still it kicked some major pwnage. Also, the main reason I would take subs over dubs is because that american anime companies take so long to acquire the licenses that it literally could be a year or more after the series has been subbed twice over before they even start dubbing, so subbing get's a major point from that. Yea you can argue better voice this or better voice that, but there are a lot of japanese subs that I get dissapointed with BECAUSE of the japanese female actors who portray older girls/women while keeping their very high-octave voice squeaking along. I'm sorry but it feels weird when I hear a supposed 25-40 year old sound like a 8-12 year old. And it's like that in just about every anime i've seen, with a few exceptions, and I've watched over 200 so I know my way around the bin, somewhat. The guy who did the voice of Renton in Eureka Seven , Johhny Yong Bosch, who also became the second Black Power Ranger after the original quit, first season. He has established himself pretty nicely and is playing in Bleach as the lead role. Most people I hear that dog dubbing don't actually understand much about voice acting and how to portray characters, and just cling to japanese actors like they are the only ones in the world and everyone else is inferior. He along with quite a few other american voice actors actually do quite a good job with their dubbing. Sam Regal has also done good in some of the parts that he has done.

I played its first version, and my only assumption they came out with this updated version is because of the movie that recently came out. The first version totally sucked my hopes away and spit them into the bottomless pit that is known as a crappy mod. The original transformers weren't hero bots but just random look a likes and would only transform into vehicles that were standard in 1942. I haven't tried this new version yet but I surely won't have my hopes up. Problably hopes down if that's possible.

Well correction, it seems PR v0.6 has just been released. http://www.totalbf2.com/forums/showthread.php?t=118901
-
well if you check out www.totalbf2.com, you can get updates on all current bf2 mods and such. I say this because PR has announced that they are hoping to release v0.6 with some new content and maps as well as tweaks this friday the 20th along with POE2. PR makes you want to giggle how fun it can be when you hook up with some teamwork fanatics who are all about getting the job done ftw. EDIT: A bit off topic. If any of you own Half-Life 2 and are big on infantry and cqb combat, you should check out a new mod called Insurgeny: Modern Infantry Combat for HL2. You can tell they put a lot of effort into this and it's quite a blast. http://www.insurgencymod.net/ check it out, I play both PR and Insurgency just about everyday

Only mildly, and mostly to fire up his imagination to find out X-). No harm no foul, besides there are many ways to take that statement. X-).. i fell victim to that statement and it went completely opposite of what I expected. Oh and Im still trying to go back and watch the original Gundam series, but I just can't help to laugh and get bored at the dub acting (not that I hate dub but since this was made in the 80's.. well you get the idea) I just can't seem to watch more than 1 episode a week or month. I have yet to watch ANY of the other series but have GS and Destiny in my collection. The only mech anime I've watched recently is Eureka Seven, FMP, and atm Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, and maybe a few other's I can't name off the top of my head.
-
So much for the interesting thing she says, considering what happens X-|. But yea FMP is a pretty good series, although Fumoffu kind of threw me off a bit. Honestly I watch a lot of stuff on YT and haven't bought much dvd's at the store. I'd say check out "The Wallflower"(look it up on wiki).. its a hilarious comedy about 4 pretty boys trying to make some gothic wannabe "ugly" girl into a princess like lady. Busou Renkin is a good show that's alchemy based, in a sense. And Kiba is pretty interesting considering it's based off a card-trading game. And it's not too kiddy such as Yu-Gi-Oh.

He will do it in San Fran, and everyone there will go nuts and problably riot the town. We can only wait and see what MLB will do, but when fans and players think of Bonds and his HR record 10+ years from now, the first thing that will come to mind is steroids. Thank you Steroids Era!

Well since noone has actually asked this lately I guess I will. Can we get an update on the Sukhoi series? I.E. screenshots, new content, anything like that? -
"This is Snake, can you read me colonel?" Snake (actually Raiden, but first codename used): "This is Snake. I am now inside Strut A of Shell 1" is that good enough? X-) let me just get my stealth camo on real quick

Na, I agree SW would be cool. Anime and fictional sci-fi movies, and SW can't be included? I say if you can't do that, there is NO point to bother with the others. If you aren't going to do it because you simply don't want to, then that's one thing. But casting out SW over Macross and Yukikaze? or even Stealth or Firefox? These fictional planes do fly on planets with gravity, so you don't have to sit there and make space battles, just create you a hoth/dantoine/tatooine/etc. planet and just duke it out there. But to cast it out because you don't like it? If anyone wants to mod SW then I say go for it. But as I said earlier if you don't want to because you simply don't feel like it, well that's your decision. -

SW actually sounds interesting, even after spending thousands of hours among ww1/ww2/vietnam/modern/ancient? planes, SW would actually be a good change of pace for me. I would love to dog it out trying to fly threw and around the star destroyers, trying to take out the radars! While SW Battlefront 2 you can do that, you can only have about a total of 10 birds in space at one time. Whereas I would like to go fullout 32 players in space with the tie/x-wing fighters and whatnot.
