AMD Eyefinity works pretty well with 7870
SkateZilla replied to streakeagle's topic in Hardware/Software Chat
DCS has 3 Camera setup, which eliminates the "distortion", but it's a resource hog. in BF3 it's kinda annoying, and in SF2 it's not as annoying, the Pros are better than the cons though i had eyefinity working fine in portrait mode on my 16:9 screens. edit, yeah, forgot, if youre running 4:3x3 you wont need to edit the viewlist, unless you wanna move the camera back some (it did move it forward some when i did 9:16x3) -
AMD Eyefinity works pretty well with 7870
SkateZilla replied to streakeagle's topic in Hardware/Software Chat
SF2 requires Modding of a few files to work with eyefinity. especially custom resolutions w/ bezel correction. I run 6048x1080 (5760x1080 desktop), I think I also ran 3240x1920 (3528px Tall Wide w/ Bezel Correction) with no problem. A lot of people dont realize, you can set Bezel correction, then revert desktop back to the standard resolution, but still use the bezel correction resolution in the game. I use Desktop at the standard 5760x so my windows and icons dont hide behind bezels. 1. Create Eyefinity Group 2. Give Center Screen the Deferred (minimizing center screen tearing) 3. Set Triple Buffering 4. Force VSync ON. optional: (Setup any bezel correction now if you want, just remember the resolution) optional: (after you set bezel correction, close everything right click desktop, screen resolution, and set non bezel corrected resolution) Configuring Strike Fighters 2: (if you have a Custom Viewlist.ini, Skip to Step 7) 5. Extract the Viewlist from the FlightDATA.CAT 6. Place Viewlist.ini in <C:/Users/<UserName>/Saved Games/Thirdwire/<StrikeFighers2 Game Folder>/Flight/> Folder 7. Open Viewlist.ini, Goto ViewClass2, OffsetDistance=0.06 To Change OffsetDistance=-.175, Also Change MaxFOV to 240 8. Repeat for ViewClass3 if you want the Snap Views to be pulled back as well. 9. Launch Strike Fighters 2 10. Goto Options 11. Goto Graphics 12. Choose the Eyefinity Resolution from the Drop Down Menu. (3600x4800 [Portrait] or 4800x3600 [Landscape] or bezel corrected res) 13. Choose the Aspect Ratio Of Your Center Monitor (3:4 portrait, or 4:3 landscape). 14. Start a Single Mission and Test. -
Older Mod Eagle Scheme
SkateZilla replied to Dave's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series Modding/Skinning Chat
looks good, cant tell if it's the light from the sun in the engine or not, but the dark grey should be lil darker? might be specular reflection playing with my eyes. H-S-L for FS36176 and 36251 Dark Grey 129-8-120 Light Grey 67-4-151 other than that it looks good. -

DCS: P-51D Mustang No Longer In Beta
SkateZilla replied to Dave's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
I've been watching the P-51D, but never got around to buying the module, Maybe in a month or so as a gift to myself, but it's not in the budget right now. not many MP Servers have Slots for it either, I've been playing with the same group of guys on SimQH and having a blast with the A-10c. To think 8 months ago I was content with SF2, and just bought A-10C on sale for $12.50 just to have it, and now I spend 99% of my Flight sim time in DCS, lol. -
DCS/LOMAC Screen Shot Thread
SkateZilla replied to Dave's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
yes and no... the FM the AI uses seems off when I fly, Too easy to stall and put into a flat spin, i rarely if ever get max deflection on the elevators either, if I force it at 350 knots it bleeds and stalls. i modified the "fast Mover mod" so. I guess I'll wait for a better FM and decent/correct pit. there's also some loadout/clipping issues, the center FT goes through gear doors, IR Pod goes through the intake, etc etc. I was gonna make a MIZ file so I can fly it clean w/ no pylons to try and pull off a decent demo, but the roll responsive-ness below 300knots is abysmal. i havent updated to the last update yet, but my afterburners dont flicker, in fact, they look superb when they are lighting up like they added a can lighting animation, or it just looks that much better through the heat blur.. -

wonder if the pit is gonna be clickable or if he's going the "keyboard commands only" route. too early to tell as the pit is only partially mapped. yeah, it does close pretty quick,. -

DCS 1.21 is Now Updated
SkateZilla replied to Dave's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
The Version Steam has is DCS: A-10C v 1.1.1.1-32Bit Standalone, not a DCS World Module, Follow the Above steps to use your Serial for DCS World. You can prolly skip downloading DCSW again if you have the most recent version, you just need to download the A-10C Module, install it, and use your steam serial for DCS A-10C to Activate the A-10C Module -
DCS 1.21 is Now Updated
SkateZilla replied to Dave's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
Open Steam, Right Click DCS:A-10C Choose, View Serial, then copy to Clipboard Paste in notepad, save it in your docs and back it up. Right Click and Delete Local Content, If you want to Run DCS:A-10C without DCS World, download the 1.1.1.1 ISO from ED, as it's 64 Bit and not limited like Steam's 32-Bit ISO. Use Steam key to activate. Anyway, If you want to Fly the A-10C Withing DCS World, it requires both DCSWorld 1.2.1 and the A-10C Module: Download the Latest DCSW: http://www.digitalco...pos=137&lang=en Download the Latest DCS A-10C Module: http://www.digitalco...pos=136&lang=en Install DCSWorld, Dont Update or Run DCSW Install DCS A-10C, Run DCSW, Should get a prompt for a new version if not: Choose Update from Start Menu (Start, All Programs, Eagle Dynamics, DCS World, DCS Update (forgot exact Filename).) It will say a new version is available Choose yes to all the Admin install prompts. Once at the Mainscreen, the Version number in the bottom right corner should read 1.2.1.6241 Goto Multiplayer Login to DCS Servers with your DCS username/password (create one if you didnt already do so). It will ask to activate your DCS A-10C Module. Paste your Serial Number and follow instructions. I got my A-10C Serial ID for $12.50 on the steam sale, and it works w/ DCSWorld Fine as well as DCS A-10C 1.1.1.1 64Bit from ED's Site. Thus removing the requirement of having steam running in the background. -

DCS 1.21 is Now Updated
SkateZilla replied to Dave's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
TBH there's Mods on ED Forums that will allow you to fly it using the 3d external Model and Flight Model, however the Cockpit will be the SU25Ts, and You will not have access to Radar etc. Now.. if someone wanted to build a F-18C PIT, and we could learn the Syntax for creating the files necessary, would "could" simply build a Pit for the F-18C w/ correct Systems and use the 3d External Model that exists in game. -
same effect, when the JTAC hits the last waypoint, or if JTAC doesnt have any. I guess.

DCS 1.21 is Now Updated
SkateZilla replied to Dave's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
BS1 was doomed as soon as they said DCS A-10C would require the entire code to be re-written in 64 bit using a new 3d engine format and new systems syntax.. Along with LoMAC/FC2 and any other TFCSE 1.02 Mods.
