A few weeks ago the Military Channel showed a movie called "The War Lover." It starred Steve McQueen as a B-17 pilot. I thought it was pretty good. Gotta love "Midway." There aren't actually all that many airplanes in it, but I like the P-51s attacking the Japanese airfield in "Empire of the Sun."

I am reading Red Storm Rising now and on friday I read a part about VF-41 and VF-84 F-14s using a rope a dope strategy with ECM jammer aircraft to ambush MiG-29s and that got me thinking. Is there a flight sim out there that has anywhere near a realistic presentation of electronic jamming and which sim has the best rendering?

Well for one thing to dogfight like in Macross Zero the VF-0 would really need those thermonuclear reaction engines (whatever those are) because with those frequent changes in momentum those two afterburning turbofans would suck the tanks dry in just a few minutes.

Okay I have been trying to add the cockpit from the newer A model F-16s to the older C and D models. After changing the avionics dll file everything works okay, except the gunsight is too high and when I activate an AAM the top 1/5 or so of the circle in the HUD is missing. Everything else in the HUD appears in the proper position. So how do I move the gunsight down in the HUD so it is in the proper position to align with the gun? I know how to change the cannon aim angle but that is not what I want to do and changing the gunsight max and default depression settings doesn't seem to have any effect.

It is not a working aircraft yet. It is a Gmax model. There is also, I believe, a CH-47 model like that as well.

The solomons mod has been released? Where is it?

On general I agree, but I will take pretty much anything that comes out. Plus, I really want to fly the Macross Valkyries that Fox Monster has been working on (especially since he asked me to convert my VF-0S 3D model to a format he could use).

I made this to be freeware so nobody should have to pay for it and the only other thing I ask is that I be acknowledged as the creator of the original model. Actually I recently found some plan views of the Gnerl fighter (the triangular shaped fighter) and I am doing a Gmax model for it right now.

I have had this problem with some aircraft as well, and as far as I can tell it has to do with the MinBaseSize setting under missiondata in the aircraft's data.ini file. Because there is only one airfield in the Range terrain and it isn't large aircraft that require a large airfield, like the B-58, will cause the program to crash.
