Thank God for our troops service...the finest in the world. I thank them everyday, unfortunately, I'll think ttat craphole will be visited by us again in the future. We sometimes never learn.

Combat Ace is the largest, most well equipped site for the SF series that I know of. There isn’t a heck of a lot of other SF sites out there that I know of that are nearly as active as CA. CA also has the most recent releases, as well as the older series releases. I became a paying member here for a while when I regained interest in this sim, and downloaded a ton of files, all without a hitch. Not currently a paying member at this time, and I can still download any files I am interested in. I consider the community here super friendly, and informative, one of the better sites that I have seen. Sorry to interupt, above post was posted by mistake in this forum / thread.....please disregard here, although all of it is true.

Sorry about you're friend. Could have been prevented if more people realize that driving " buzzed " is setting maybe yourself and others up for murder. Just don't drink and drive....period. Hope everyone has a wonderful and safe holiday this year.

If I remember correctly, the first flight simulator for the PC ( IBM compatible clones at that time ), was the wire-framed green display by Microsoft. At work we used this first MS flight simulator and Lotus 123 as a " Test " to confirm compatibility of the clone PC's our company was using. This was before any Windows OS was available. Had to get enough free memory to get the mouse to work. Anyone remember QEMM ??

Not to rub it in, as I have gotten burned too many times. I now make a backup of my work laptop every Sunday. External USB's are so cheap now. Hope the recovery goes smooth for you.

There are some here, that go way back and remember, regarding older Fight Sims, when you had to use some of you're own imagination to achieve some degree of imersion. What a classic. Thanks for making me believe I am not alone. Good thread my friends.

Regarding M8, not 100 % sure about this, but if I remember right you had to use an older version of Adobe to run it....something like v 5.0 I think,

My install of LB2 v2.09 runs OK on my XP OS. It's still great fun to fly this oldie but goldie.

DCS Helo Series would have to take the crown for helo study sims, very detailed, especially the latest releases. Longbow 2 & EECH are a lot easier to learn, and have pretty good imersion.
