  1. Thanks for the pack Sid!! great one. I've been looking for the Roadrunners, almost started playing with skinning one myself.
  2. Man 12 Hours Day Shifts

No, but close..... Until yesterday I flew the Be-1900D, Tomorrow I start transition training to the EMB-120 Brazilia
  3. Man 12 Hours Day Shifts

lol, no. That is the generator that the system which tracks the times and other aircraft data is plugged into. If the engine fails, they know where we are when it happens, and will be expecting to be told when to stop worrying. Dave, my only point was that I can relate to how you feel. It gets really hard to land even the easiest airplane when you are approaching that 16 hour limit. Frankly I don't see why the FAA allows it for anything other than trans-oceanic flights.
  4. Man 12 Hours Day Shifts

Hey Bulldog, you sound like an airline pilot. For Me, ... Fed Aviation Regs (FAR) say No flight time may be schedualed more than 8 hours, but can go over due to circumstances (weather, ATC delays, etc) if the flight was already started. No duty day may exceed 16 hours for any reason. Company policy.... No duty day may be schedualed longer than 14 hours, but may be extended to not more than 16 hours due to reasons beyond company control (weather, maintenance, ATC delays, etc.) What this means.... a schedualed 8 hour day of flying = roughly 14-16 hours of duty I only get paid if the left engine is running (flight time) not duty time. Think about that (your flight deck crew) the next time you get on a regional, or commuter airliner
  5. Yep it's true. I heard about it nearly 10 years ago when I was an Aircraft Structural Mechanic in the Air Guard. I read about it in an Air Force magazine called "Flying Safety" which also had some pics of the jet airborne and on the ground. I just a few months ago finally saw the video. Impressive what McDonnell Douglass made. Too bad they and Grumman are no more due to politics and Corporate America! Also, last night in Operation Tainted Cigar..... Honest, I didn't abuse the aircraft........I just employed an unusual tactic to defend the fleet against Beagle bombers after shooting all my missiles
  6. Hey Allen, on your ordnance chart there, notice the inbd pylon loads. There is never a 3 or 6 listed. That supports what my roommate said about the gear door clearances. The front inbd position of the MER and inbd position on the TER were left empty. I'd say you have enough info to make your own court about a modification. People don't have to use it if they don't want to. That's the bottom line. The only thing stopping you would be the need (or not?) for permissions to upload it. I've spent most of my time in the sim flying the "Operation Final Dawn 2007" campaign (first campaign finished was a VF-103 campaign which I modded to suit my taste to fly a more accurate rendidion of the F-14 than the uberloaded one that came in the campaign download). I've spent a little time flying the Talon. If it gets released I'll probably go for a spin or two in the Firefox. None of this is real. Though a realist to an extent I'm not that much of a realist to exclude certain aspects such as these. I long ago modded my A-6E's data.ini to carry 2 AIM-9s. That's my choice, based on the info I got from a retired Marine Capt. that I room with, and have flown with at my airline job. He's now a Captain on the EMB-120. I'm a First Officer on the Be-1900D with over 2100 hours in type. I can draw the line though. I don't download what I don't want. I removed SFP1 (sp4) from my computer for 2 reasons. #1 I needed to free space and I have WOV and 2 installations of WOE (1 with OFD 2007, and 1 with OTC) #2 Even with sp4, SFP1's flight engine felt wrong. I've flown 5 different airplanes, and none of them had anywhere near the roll inertia that SFP1 had consistantly throughout all aircraft in the game. Thinking of IL-2, I have yet to see a game that modeles the constant speed propellar correctly. I won't shelf IL-2, or MSFS for this, but it is annoying to me, and I've learned to live with that for lack of an accurate substitution. Again all my choice. All I'm saying is if permissions are needed for upload, so be it. If not, do it and let those who wish to include it in their game do so, those that don't....dont! And on the next day, we'll all get along. .........Man, did you ever open a can of worms with this!
  7. Hey Blade, which animation was that? I managed to get the F-23A Canopy to work with a keypress, but I think each model is different depending on the number of animations. Can anyone else prove this or disprove it? I mapped Animation 6 to ALT E [Canopy] SystemType=ANIMATION InputName=ANIMATION_6 DeploymentMethod=MANUAL MaxDeflection=45.0 MinDeflection=0.0 ControlRate=1.0 ModelNodeName=Canopy_Frame AnimationID=8
  8. And where are the Mythbusters? LOL Jamie: Well, There is a photo. Adam: But Jamie, it's just a training round Jamie: The audiance needs a decision here Adam: Well, Ok it's PLAUSABLE, but not prooven
  9. Thanks Flanker ! Do as you wish with your BA skins. It's going to be the 2nd week of next month before I can pick up mine again. I was hopeing to have the A-6E ready to go also and upload them together, but I might just finish one thing at a time now that I'm done with my anual simulator training for another year.
  10. Ok,.....before we all get bent out of shape on what could have been -vs- what is/was I think we should consider practicality. I ststed in my original post in the thread that I live with a former A-6E Bombardier/Navigator who was the Nuclear Safety Officer of a Marine Squadron. I asked him about what they did with the stores in question and posted the reply. They carried the stuff in training. Training is preporation for a possible nessessity. In the quote from Southernap, #1 shows that nessessityand training nearly became reality. The same goes for #2, though the "reality" was much farther from truth. VMA(AW)-242 trained to deliver nuclear weapons. I personally don't see why a capibility should be omitted if there was training to use the capibility. These aircraft will still only use the weapons in campaign that there is a supply allicated for. I do agree with you Dave on "Not a pound for Air to Ground" for the F-15C
  11. IIRC the MiG-25 package uses drage chutes in conjunction with the speed brake key when on the ground
  12. Thanks Crusader, time to start overhauling all my jets
  13. I don't know if any keys have been added, but the common practice for canopies lately has been to link them as high lift devices. Personally I find this a bit annoying and unrealistic. For example, the F-16 community closes the canopy before engine start to prevent forign objects from falling out of the cockpit and being sucked into a running engine. I guess it's time to pose an idea to the community. Would it be possible to link canopies as internal bomb bay doors on aircraft without internal bays? That way there would be a keypress associated with the canopy operation. I briefly played with this, but was unsuccessful, and don't have knowlege/time to go beyond a little ini editing. I dropped the attempts due to bigger things in life. to my knowlege, none of the aircraft have refueling probes that extend. The KA-6D, and Airbus tankers, and possibly KC-135 (I don't have one) hoses/booms are also high lift devices that operate based on airspeed
  14. Heya Flanker, I'm likeing that!! I'm going to lobby with galoub. I'd like to have a splinter scheme also, revised model or not. I'd work on one myself, but I need to finish the Blue Angels FA-18, the A-6E, and the F-4Es that I have started before I take on another project that I have no time to finish at present . Good thing I love my job! Nowhere else do you get an highrise office with a window your first day on the job.
  15. Hey Guys, My Roommate was an A-6E BN with VMA(AW)-242 "Bats" I've asked him about the stores in question. 1) VMA(AW)-242 Carried AIM-9Ms at least in training. Initially 2 were mounted on the outer pylons (1 each), but due to limitations with AG ordnance on the INBD pylons imposed by clearance with the gear doors (2 fwd inbd bombs omitted) they later started carrying the AIM-9Ms on the INBD pylons. 2) My roommate just happened to be the squadrons Nuclear Safety Officer. They could carry B43, B57, and B61 weapons. 3) VMA(AW)-242 never had, trained, or flew AGM-65s
  16. Don't forget that the days of a CVBG in self defense against Kuznetsovs sporting Flankers, Fulkrums, and Frogfoots, and supported by Kievs with their ASW helos, and Foragers/Freestyles, with a screen of a Moskva or two, and Slavas with their 300 mile ssm/asm armament with Udaloys and Sovremmneys in close ASW/AAW escort is a thing of the past....or at least quite unlikely. the current threat to a CVBG is not anywhere near the level it was during the cold war. Today the Air Wing of a single CVN outnumbers the ariforces of many potentially hostile countries, and 3 or 4 of these Air Wings can be brought to bear in short order. I'm forever fond of the Tomcat, but the threat isn't the same. The Super Bug costs less to operate, and is updateable. It isn't worn out by thousands of flight hours per airframe. It was built for more roles as dictated by operational nessessity. And it has more modern qualities required in today's combat environment. I think based on all of those considerations the Navy and (I'm going to be very loose with praise here) Congress made the right decision. My fondness for the Tomcat does not however allow me to aggree with it's retirement but I can accept it. So, How is the Super Bug comming along? I've been away a few days at work.
  17. SWEET!!! Bring on the Super Bugs!!!
  18. Sounds like you are missing the .CAT file. I don't have that terrain, but all terrains need a CAT file for the things you have missing. Usually this is a renamed desert.CAT. Take a look at the install instructions again, and the Knowlege base in these forums. Since you have one of the third wire games, it's easy to get one of the CAT files to work, you will just have to do some renaming and ini editing.
  19. Looking great Fubar!! My first impression was tease also . I'm looking forward to that F-22. About the thrust vectoring, I've seen the AI do it also. It happened with the F-4E in a WOE single mission. The only thing I've changed is the cockpit. I'm using the photo real mod here on CA. I saw the 3 AI in my flight with the exhaust vectored down about 45 degrees during the approach for landing. If the image attached, I'm in 161 on the right wing, and AI is in 163 with the vectored exhaust.
  20. Looking good Flanker,......couldn't wait for me to find time to finish mine eh?
  21. Looks great Flanker! Now she just needs a PTO/Indian Ocean campaign and a more modern Aardvarks skin to go with her.....though I don't know if VF-213 and VF-114 were deployed together after the early 90s. I know they were together when deployed on the Enterprise. I lost touch with events somewhat after Desert Storm.
  22. Hey Fubar, what are the ini entries for those launch warnings and tones? Keep up the great work Marc! But I'm confused....Su-25, Su-24, Su-30/33/34.....Which ONE were you working on ? F-8 Crusader = Mig Master, Marcfighters = Sukhoi Master
  23. The rule of thumb that I use when dropping JDAM or GBUs is (Release Altitude/1000)/2=Release Point or (20,000ft/1000)/2=20/2=10 miles. So at 2000 ft you would release at 1 mile. Obviously speed does play some part in how far the bomb will guide to target. I wouldn't try that with a slower jet.
  24. You da man!! That is it. Looks like I missed out some more. Are they all available?
