  1. Haha classic, also reminds me very much of the AGM-65 from Episode two below (starts at about 6min 25s), but posted Ep.1 too since it's so damn funny http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1wEURyjB3Lc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lDHQjTxDRYk
  2. Well friends, some news about the campaign: I have decided to make friends with the Thirdwire Terrain Editor and after a pretty mind-numbing session of adding well over a 100 custom tiles to the default desert tilelist I have come several steps closer to my dream of realizing a more beutiful Iran and Zagros mountain range! JSF Aggies excellent SWUS map just blew me away and really shows what the old terrain formap is capable of, so I decided to borrow some of his tiles (haven't asked for permission yet, sorry man!) to see what they could do. One thing led to the other and now I have decided to retile the whole Zagros region. In the old tileset there were only two tile types apart from farms, sea and cities: desert and mountains. This means that all of Zagros will look more or less identical, and if you sample photos from for example Panoramio/Google Earth you can see that the nature there is really diverse. Here are some screenies from my work so far, some missing transitions still and WIP tiles but bear with me. All the art credits go to JSF Aggies excellent work!

  7. I'd really like jitter cam as well, it feels very "dynamic" and is nice for making movies.
  8. Also, one idea: would it be possible for the tilemap bitmap export to actually spit out three different bmps instead of one BMP with the tile, rotation and tag in the R G B channels? This way you could have more differentation to ease the workflow, now the color difference is minimal between tiles. This is of course only a minor concern, the import would be really great. I am experimenting now in photoshop with workflows, basically I am copy-pasting the different channels to different documents to ease the workload. Then I resized the heightmap to the same 500x500 size and did selections from there to new channels, so I can have my mountain tiles fall correctly. I have not yet worked out how to make transitions automatically but I'll think of something
  9. That was fast, thank you, I think the copy paste functions coupled with flood fill is enough. I beg to differ, the photoshop import export would be hugely useful, at least for me I am positive I can make a decent workflow from it, it will be a bit fiddly and difficult for sure but not impossible, but overall it will be easier to make large changes than going over every single tile in TFD editor, one can always fine tune in TFD editor what is messed up, but you can atleast add large swathes of new land easily, and also stuff like rivers could be easier to place. Also you can do selections from the heightmap to get proper tiles based on height. Lets face it, the thirdwire terrain editor is more or less dead and the new terrain format has not so far proven usable so to make decen new tile based maps we need your editor! What you have given us already has been huge!
  10. Hi Gerwin I'd like to repeat my request for a fill tool that would paste the selected tile to all adjecent same tiles, ie until another tile type is encountered, preferably with random rotation if at all possible. This way we could just place the border textures for our new area and then "fill" it out with a new tile type, to create new larger areas easily. Making small changes with your editor is really fast and intuitive but larger changes are more difficult. Or you could allow the import of the tile map bitmap that the TFD editor can export, that way we could just paint in photoshop or whatever and fix the borders in TFD editor. If that is not possible then perhaps we could just have a larger copy-paste area, now you can paste a single tile or 3x3 tiles, maybe a key to rotate the size to copy-paste using the B key, so you can paste 2x2, 3x3, 4x4, 6x6 et cetera. I really hope you can find time for this!
  11. Just wanted to give you guys a bit of a status update, the whole team is really working on getting the last few niggles fixed on the C variant, and also work on the E multirole as well as the CR and CT has started in earnest. Below is a shot of the WIP CT/E cockpit, Crusader has really outdone himself on the research and INI work and it still isn't even done. Also, for all you modern bird lovers a proper HUD is included for these variants!
  12. Nice work, really like the skins! It's good to see the templates being put to good use! If we really want to go alternate history here it would probably not be impossible to imagine a scenario where the US involvment in Vietnam was more limited, and thus more F-105s would be avaliable for upgrade Or heck, just image in a larger production run
  13. Ok, here's a little something: MiG-15bis, 1954 Fearing crippling strikes vs. their airfields closests to the front, the Parani Air Force started to hastily apply camouflage to their aircraft.
  14. There is a lot of important work done behind the scenes, unfortunately this has stolen a bit of the focus from the actual campaign. But ultimately, some of the most important planes in this campaign will be done to a SF2 "HD++" standard which will make flying a lot more fun! Quality takes time, I'm afraid, and because us modders are still relatively few and all have RL stuff to deal with... But in summary: -Martins Su-17/20 is still progressing nicely -Carlo has made some very cool MiG skins pictured above -"New" MiG-23s may be around the corner! And stary has a gorgeous MiG-23BN cockpit in the works. -Mirage F.1EQ is progressing nicely. -Dast24 is working on the MiG-29s as you can see I'll try to whip up some new pictures tonight!
  15. They probably do not have EXPORTED=TRUE in their ini..
  16. Badass pic from Operation Serval intervention in Mali, February this year:
  17. Hey that's perfectly fine, I just wanted to give you a proper heads up of "what's cooking" that's all. This remins me that I really should start working on the CR/CT/E cockpit and the CR external model.. So much to do!
