  1. http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?autom...ode=sst&id=3924 File Name: F-14A+ File Submitter: Typhoid File Submitted: 25 Jan 2007 File Updated: 22 Jan 2008 File Category: F-14 +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------+ | | | GRUMMAN F-14A+ TOMCAT | | The F-14A+ Tomcat the best fleet defender. | +-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------+ With the gracious permission of; The Mirage Factory and Olivier ANGUILLE (BPAo); This update includes the avionics upgrade by Sandmartin and Batman1978 which uses the avionics70 file to provide improved HUD and air to air radar and tracking capabilities and the TCS mod. This TCS mod provides a boresighted view only and does not (yet) track selected targets. The Radar Warning Receiver (RWR) has been updated and includes the implementation originally developed by wpnssgt. This variation of the original F-14A in one of the later operational configurations to guard the fleet; the F-14A+. This is a minor tweak of the ini files to update the engines and radar. The F-14A+ included the same engines for the F-14D but this version did not include the air to ground capability of the F-14D. This is not the pre-production development mod but the fleet operational version which was also later referred to as the F-14B. Both the F-14A+ and the F-14B were employed in the fleet at the same time, with the F-14A+ generally deployed to the Pacific and the F-14B deployed to the Atlantic (the principle difference between the two aircraft being whether the squadron was in the Pacific or the Atlantic Fleet). This aircraft was withdrawn from fleet service in 2006 and replaced by the F-18F in the air to air role. All F-14's received air to ground capabilities in 1995 which are included in this model with the addition of conventional air to ground bombing capabilities. The squadrons which deployed with the F-14A+ were VF-11, VF-24, VF-32, VF-74, VF-102, VF-103, VF-142 and VF-143. Those skins are not included in this file and must be downloaded and installed separately. The squadron skins included in this model are the original ones in the Mirage Factory F-14A. I recommend deleting the squadron skins in this model and loading the others. Since permission to include those skins was not given, those skins are not included here. export : None Just unzip this entire folder into your WOE/Ojects/Aircraft folder. Note -1. The avionics upgrade by Sandmartin and Batman1978 uses the avionics70 file to provide improved HUD and air to air radar and tracking capabilities. This avionics70 mod does NOT work in a Wings Over Vietnam (and possibly not in Strike Fighter) only install. So if you are using a WoV install you will need to use the alternate cockpit using the avionics60 version. The TCS mod works in both versions. Note; the missile stations are designed to pick up Active Radar Homing missiles and will employ the AIM-7 and AIM-54 series air to air missiles. The model here will also pick up the AIM-120 series in the sim, but the aircraft was never wired or certified to carry that missile. So if you want the realism, don't load that one. Good hunting! 2. Very interesting Fubar. When do we get to see those for download?
  3. You guys are interested in old war stories? as part of this operation; http://www.navweaps.com/index_tech/tech-031.htm I was flying as a Mission Commander/Air Intercept Controller in the E-2 in CVW-5 embarked in CV-41. After we had tipped our hand and were operating with Enterprise both groups closed the Japanese islands and prepared to enter the SOJ. As noted in the article linked above, everything that could fly in the Soviet Far East Military District including 37th Air Army aircraft were flying against us and we were all getting a great workout. Just prior to entering the SOJ we were tucked in close to Honshu which forced the Soviets to fly around Hokaido and come looking for us with the JASDF also playing in the mix. I controlled an A-7 to intercept an inbound HUGE radar contact and it turned out to be a Soviet Air Force Bison looking for us. It was, as best as we could determine, a bomber variant and was trying to find us acting as a pathfinder for other strike aircraft. Needless to say there was a great deal of astonishment in the group that a Bison was out playing, but the photos proved it. It was in excellent external condition and looked like it had a new paint job. Probably used as a vip aircraft and pressed into operational use as all the other aircraft had been hard flown for a couple of weeks and were breaking down. (On another intercept the Tomcats saw a Badger blow an engine and they escorted it back until another Soviet joined up on him. Three days later, he was back.) Interesting couple of weeks.......
  4. Oh, ok. I am a bit confused because I thought those were from wpnsgt who hasn't replied to my queries. But OK. C will come soon the others I have to finish up. A key point of clarification. These are simply ini file mods to the existing A model that adds the additional capabilties that later versions of the aircraft were fielded with. I don't have time or the skills to do the skins, yet. Typhoid
  5. I think I controlled the last intercept of one of those over the Pacific in 1983. Pretty big radar return.
  6. There are several Mig-29s already available. Based on those, I've built C, K and M variants but do not have permission to post them.
  7. the cockpit in the Mig-29A model here is the F-4 which happens to be almost the same as the real Mig-29. Its about 90% correct as is. About the only difference that I see here from what I recall is that radar and attitude gyro are reversed.
  8. Before you added your additional tile set, I had loaded up Dueces Desert Terrain which fixed Israel 2, Libya and Desert Storm terrains just fine.
