  1. Recording Avi's...

Hey Ghost, I've been able to get the DivX 5.xx (.04 I think it is) to work just fine. I also used the windows movie maker to make a couple of videos. I jacked up the resolution all the way to the highest level and a 3 min video is just under a gig along with a music track. Good luck! - Sledge
  2. Dang! All I get is the audio. I can run the other LOMAC videos allright, why won't this one run? Anyone else have this problem? Thanks! - Sledge
  3. I Noticed Some Old Fellas In Here

Howdy Red Eagle. Just wanted you to know that I'm not the Sledge you're thinkin of, but welcome aboard anyway! This is a great site with lots of great guys. Maybe I'll run into ya flyin LOMAC or Strike Fighters sometime. C'ya! - Sledge
  4. Welcome Chaingun..

Hey Chain! Welcome to Biohaz! Look forward to flyin with you and the rest of VMFA-232 when Strike Fighters gets fixed. This is a great forum, and a great site all around. Welcome aboard! - Sledge
  5. Callsign Origins

I thought it would be a real hoot if we all tell how we selected, or were givin the callsigns we use here and in the various gaming lobbies. I guess I'll start. I was in a band back in the '80s. At that time "U-2" was pretty huge, and the guitar player of that band called himself "The Edge". We thought it would be funny to have monikers too. Of course, they had to rhyme with "Edge". Since I was the drummer, and loved to play really loud, I became "The Sledge". Thats how I decided to use "Sledge" here. When LOMAC came out, ubi.com was the only place to play online till Hyperlobby supported it. I tried to register as "Sledge" but it was already taken, so since I am Potawatomi and Creek indian I registered as "Indin" there. And now you know.... the rest of the story! Good day! - Sledge out.
  6. Fast Eagle Is A Fraud...

I am not a Sledge. I do own one, however. I used it last week to disassemble a fence that was damaged by the wind. Before this gets out, I should mention that I am a Native American, born-again Christian, gun owning, NRA member, country music listening, SUV driving, (Chevy Suburban) sole bread-winner of the house, father, husband, conservative Republican, union member, decidedly politically INcorrect, Traditional American Male! There it is. I said it. If I ever decide to run for political office, everything anyone could want to know about me is on Biohazcentral! As far as Fast Eagle is concerned, I find it sad but not unexpected. This is the internet after all. His silence on the issue is also expected. I don't expect he will ever answer these questions. When your personality is discovered to be fraudulent, you just disappear and reappear as someone else. It will happen again. That is certain. The great thing about these sims is those of us who never got to fly these fantastic machines can get a small taste of what it would be like. It does'nt matter if you are a Cessna pilot, a computer programmer, an airline pilot, student, or...whatever else kind of folks make up the flight/combat sim enthusiast ranks, we can all enjoy flying them, and coming here to talk about it. We can all be who we are, while pretending to be fighter pilots! What a hoot! Merry Christmas to all, and I hope y'all get what ever new programs, hardware, or other toys and accessories you want! That is all. -Sledge
  7. I can't seem to get the ctrl-r to work as I think it should. It saves the files as something other than a track file and then I can't play it back. Is this a known issue, or am I just a complete moron? It seems, to be able to get a play-backable (is that a word?) file you have to click on "record track" from the mission editor tool bar and then you are recording the whole thing, instead of just being able to record at will in any flight at any time. There is precious little documentation concerning the other features that are included with this sim, besides the sparse documentation for the basics like how to use the dag-gone Russian radar and missiles! I hope this is something that will be explained more fully, or fixed in an upcoming patch. Other than these things, I have to say that this sim one Sierra Hotel good time! I love it! That is all. - Sledge out.
  8. Ahhh, ok! Thanks for the help y'all! Y'know I've also noticed something else interesting. Twice now, when I've been recording a mission, I'll shoot down an aircraft during the mission but when I play it back it shows I missed! TWICE thats happened! I KNOW I shot those guys down! One was an AIM-9 kill and the other was a guns kill. Anyone else have this happen? Thanks again y'all! - Sledge out.
  9. What Music Evokes Flying To You The Most?

I love "Surfin with the Alien" by Joe Satriani, and for some reason when I get cleared for what we call a "slam dunk" visual approach (high, close in, max performance short approach) I get Wagner's (properly pronounced Vagner's) "Ride of the Valkyries" running through my head. Must have something to do with Apocalypse now, or something. "I love the smell of napalm in the morning...." Also, in keeping with "The Ventures" tunes, there was a band called Jody Foster's Army that did a great version of "Pipeline" back in the '80s that absolutely ROCKED! Those are just a few that come to mind. - Sledge
  10. Ahhhh, patience grasshopper....patience. I've been enjoying LOMAC for the last few days, but I have to say that LOMAC has givin me a fresh appreciation of just how good, and fun SF is! Honestly, the MP in LOMAC is BARELY better than SF as far as reliability. As far as ease of use, its downright cumbersome and involved. When the SF MP gets fixed, it will be a superior interface, and much more user friendly. The last few days playing online in LOMAC has been just as frustrating as SF, with about the same ratio of successful sessions per attempts as SF. All software has bugs. Its a fact of life! I try not to let little things like buggy sims raise my hackles too much. Life is too short for that! That is all. - Sledge
  11. World Record Water Depth For Drilling

Congrats Beer! Thats outstanding! How long do you think the record will stand? Also, I was just curious, would you happen to know the deepest well ever drilled either offshore or onshore? C ya! - Sledge
  12. I have been flying LOMAC since I got it on the 22nd, and I must say, its a hoot! The MP could use a little work, but it is much better than the current incarnation of Strike fighter's MP. All in all, this one is a winner! When I went to register at Ubi so I could play online it said that "Sledge" was already taken so I am known as "Indin" there. That is all. - Sledge
  13. Driving To Arizona For Thanksgivingn

Look into the Titan Missile museum also while your there. I think when you go to the Pima, they also give you a discount to the Titan museum. Its a deactivated Titan ICBM missile silo. I first went to the Pima in about 1976. I went back a couple of years ago and WOW, has it changed! Back then it was just a bunch of aircraft that had been towed over there from D.M. and parked out in the desert sun. Now, it has several hangars with beautifully restored aircraft, nice displays, a gift shop, and a snack bar. Its a real quality museum now. I remember thinking, "hey, what the heck is an F-15 doing here? That thing is cutting edge!" Then I realized that it's getting older and so am I... Geez. Oh well, have fun! - Sledge out.
  14. Arm Your Selves!

Got mine! Can't wait to give these to a buddy of mine who works at Checker auto. He sees these things there all the time! Give me a '69 Mach 1, Camaro, or.... well, anything measured in cubic inches instead of CCs!
  15. Captain sim has a new F-104 out that is really nice, and quite a handful to fly! New skins are out for it already, and the cockpit is awesome! That is all. - Sledge
  16. Gorgeous Payware F-104

Yup, I'm with ya on the Abacus stuff! I've been disappointed with their products too, but after I got Captain Sim's 727 I was impressed with the quality of their product. Not perfect, for sure, but they have been good about fixin any glitches, and there are always glitches. Here is a shot of the 2d panel. There is a great virtual cockpit with it as well. - Sledge out.
  17. Heres a shot of that gorgeous F-16 of Kirk's. I love this bird! - Sledge
  18. Flight Deck 3 Addon For Fs2004

Hey Chief, I found this little program that makes taking screen shots in FS2004 a snap. It's called YAFSScreen, and I use it alot. You can get it here- http://simviation.com/fs2002utilities_gen2.htm If you get it, I know you'll like it. - Sledge
  19. I can't seem to find the file attachment option! Where could it be? I would love to post some screen shots and stuff. Am I missing something? I read the help section and it said the "file attachment" option has to be enable by the admin. So I guess my question is, how do I get that "file attachment" thing? Thanks! - Sledge
  20. My sentiments exactly Chief. The old saying "good things come to those who wait" has been forgotten lately. We are so spoiled. We want it all, and we want it RIGHT FRIGGIN NOW!!! I just spent an enjoyable few minutes wasting Migs in SFP1, and even as it stands, it is a great sim. I know it'll really rock our world when the "issues" that remain are taken out and shot! That is all. - Sledge out.
  21. Checkrides And Such...

Good Job! Consider the private license a "license to learn". Treat it that way, and you will do well. Every time you go up, you have an opportunity to learn something else that will make you a better pilot. Make the most of each flight, and always, always, always, have fun! Welcome to the ranks! - Sledge
  22. DANG!!!! Mr. Mudd, that vid was hair-on-fire stuff! I loved it! Can't wait for LOMAC to hit the shelves! Thanks for the preview, great work! Sierra Hotel! - Sledge out!
  23. Avast Me Scurvies!

Arrrh maties, this is a manly ship with a manly crew, arrrh! Sorry, thats all I could think of to say in a piratey way. Yo Ho Ho! - Sledge
  24. Got a new 'puter recently and can't get USAF to run on it! Anyone else had issues with op sytem or hardware? I'm running a pentium 4 2.8g with radeon 9700, 515meg ram. If it's win XP, is there some kind of fix for it? Thanks-Sledge
