Hey, I said that... Scary when Stary is actually believing what I say. -
Exp3 News! (no, not really)
ST0RM replied to FastCargo's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
This is a real shame. I have read through this thread and the common theme seems to be the lack of information from Thirdwire about the future of the SF series. By keeping the info chain closed, TK is alienating his customer base. Even the most loyal of supporters have looked elsewhere. Sure, his Android/iPhone app is getting the name out, but will this really bring in the revenue that he expects? Exp 3 has been promised for what, over 2 years? SF:NA terrain still hasnt had the terrain issues solved or all of it even properly textured. Sorry to say this, but I think that his silence is the answer. It's just not the one you wanted to get. Despite DanW's occasional vague replies about "progress" on this or that, I would not expect much more. I hope I'm proven wrong. And if so, would gladly reinstall and start playing again if the product was worthy of what we used to know from TK. -Jeff -
I'm sorry, but the Band of Brothers series set the bar for all WWII documentaries. Glad someone keeps giving that era a look. I hope this inspires more of these types of programs instead of the BS reality TV we've got now. As far as Finland or Russian Front, maybe if people within those countries would gather the material, there would be more. -Jeff

MS Flight Simulator Screen Shot of the Day
ST0RM replied to Viggen's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator
Several from recent "flights". Flying plane guard during a multi-play session. Ready on Cat 1 with the Whale landing The Nimitz was piloted so we had some real ATC and followed CV Ops procedures. Here, I'm flying CAP over Hawaii -
Strike Fighters Israel released for Android
ST0RM replied to Baltika's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
FSX Multiplayer allows it. I've been two-player in an EA-6B over the NTR and nearly got my co-pilot airsick with all the low-level yanking and banking. The one good thing to come from FSX was aircraft sharing. Awesome for those complex start-ups. -S -
Strike Fighters Israel released for Android

If Prepar3d would support Track IR, I'd have dumped FSX already. Just cant "fly" without my TIR anymore. But Lock-Mart really did a number on the engine and it's very popular with many die hards. -S -
Geez, I'm off the grid for 8 days and all kinds of crap happens.

One of the last general officers that had my respect. RIP Sir!

DCS: Combined Arms V1.2.3 Screeshots
ST0RM replied to Dave's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
I didnt get into that one, so I totally missed it. But yes, trying to survive the drive over to an enemy airfield or choke point to pick off some low and slows was a task in itself. -Jeff -
DCS/LOMAC Screen Shot Thread

Uhhh, where did the Hun come from? This is beginning to look more like Fighters Anthology with the projected era-based aircraft. -
DCS: Combined Arms V1.2.3 Screeshots
ST0RM replied to Dave's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
Not since Air Warrior and Warbirds have players been able to to truly integrate ground ops with flight ops at a level like this. I hope all continues to progress on the right paths as this could finally be the ultimate sim experience. Thanks for posting the screens Dave! -Jeff -
Fact or assumption? Is the service life less than the F-35? Is it based on hours flown or numbers purchased? For one F-35, you can purchase two Super Hornets. They've budgeted X amount of money already, based on their required number of F-35s. By purchasing more Supers, they coult reduce the amount of hours put on the whole fleet. So in a sense, they might get as much life. -S

My thoughts exactly. Honestly, I'd expect that this will open up more countries to pull out also. No one wanted to be the first. -S

Nice long term project. 4 months is a lot of down time for a biz jet. Why the huge makeover? I see the paint stayed the same. -Jeff

Yes, that is cool. Nice to see the retro look on a "newer" jet. -Jeff -
Honestly, I thought this would be about A-1 Skyraiders.

I'm just happy that those model rockets fly better than the NK's real ones do.

Phinally, a Phantom with a drag chute. This has been sadly missing since day 1. Great work on it. It's perfect. -Jeff -

Announcing RAZBAM DCS: A-7E/D
ST0RM replied to Dave's topic in Digital Combat Simulator Series General Discussion
Again, the Skyhawks are NOT for FSX. They are the old FS9 models. In their day, they were top of the line. As for the A-7, no worries. It isnt a fly-by-wire jet, so most people dont like the learning curve. -
