AGM-65 Pack
ST0RM replied to ravenclaw_007's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - File Announcements
I did a Google search and the H/K looks like the 3rd Maverick down on the left side of your picture. Thank you for the missile pack. HIH -S -
Combo recon/fuel pod?

Could you give the aircraft a TV camera, but fix the view from where the tank hangs? -

A Lighting Tale: Using the Radar
ST0RM replied to MigBuster's topic in Military and General Aviation
Great read. You can see him sweating it out in the cockpit, trying to pick up the target on that old radar. Thanks. -S -
Yeah, I read about this today. It will bring European airlines to their knees, if it is true. They've been saying Mt. St. Helens is due for another big one for years.

That is some amazing work. Sadly, FSX was supposed to be that way, but fell way short. Graphically it's great, but a real let down with the AI.

Aero Studios F-16s

Honestly, I would not waste much effort on the AAQ-13/14 LANTIRN pods. The Block 50s never used them. Blk 40/42 did, but with advent of LITENING & SNIPER, they went away. I last saw LANTIRN being used by the Egyptian AF on their Blk 40s in 2009. Your model is looking good. I'm curious as to what the Blk70 is? -

The 174th TFS NY ANG flew two missions in Desert Storm, equipped with the GAU-13 30mm gun pod. After one live fire mission, it shook the jet so badly, it was shelved. The virbation prevented the pilot from acquiring the target clearly for CAS work. However, in SF2 we could probably relive those missions with better results. -S -
Saguette and Hispano Hidalgo not showing up

Here is a good read from the Knowledge Base. It's about making AI aircraft flyable, but provides some areas to look to make sure your cockpit information is correctly added to the various ini files. http://combatace.com/topic/20789-how-to-make-ai-planes-flyable/ -
I wish we would grow some balls in the US and do the same.

These cuts are severely hurting the RAFs and Royal Navy's capabilities. Such a shame.

I'm talking about the AIM-9 skin itself. The Vipers look great also. -Jeff -

What are those AIM-9s on the wingtips of Stary and Wrench's Viper? I've been looking for that skin, but cant figure out which pack they are in. Are they AIM-9M or AIM-9L? Can anyone send them to me? Great shots all! -

2BR is the dual rack code. But I've only been able to get LGBs to load on it. The GPS guided GBUs will not load for some reason. -S -
Aiming problem?!
ST0RM replied to GodsLt's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
As an overall observation, most of the "combat" in the TW takes place at relatively low altitude. I try to keep it at more realistic altitudes and will ingress at 20K+ and do my PGM bombing from that altitude. That gives plenty of time and alt for the bomb to acquire and guide, plus gives the advantage of limiting my time down in the enemy's WEZ (weapon engagement zone). If I have to strafe, then of course I'll drop in low, but will zoom back high before returning for a second pass, if necessary. Good luck! -S -
A quick edit of the A-10_78 and you can create a modern A-10 stand-in. I've done so with the '78 model and added the PGM/targeting pod capability. It's more of an A-10A+ since it lacks the antennas and cockpit of the Charlie. -S

Lake Tharthar? Yep, I've been there also. Always wondered, if circumstances were different, if it was good for water skiing. -
