  2. Area flown most?

Bringing some life back to this area. I like flying the Mid-West and South Western US. -S
  3. Gorilla and a Lion. Nice Phantoms Dave!
  4. 2 libyan pilots defected

Looks like two more Libyan pilots opted to punch out of their Fitter instead of attacking civilians. http://content.usatoday.com/communities/ondeadline/post/2011/02/libyan-pilots-crash-their-fighter-jet-rather-than-attack-benghazi/1
  5. Sounds like the issue I described to Dave a while back. He mentioned something about the "Z-buffer". I also have this issue with many of my aircraft. Stock and 3rd party. No fix from TK, other than upgrade your system. -S
  6. Need to clean out my office in anticipation of a possible PCS move. The pictures tell all. Basic shell, but I do have the plastic parachute container. I'm looking for $400, or best offer. Because of the size & weight, you probably would need to be close and come pick it up. I'm in Derby, Kansas. (just south of Wichita) -Jeff
  7. Seat was sold yesterday. Thanks for looking. -S
  8. I want the bag phone to come back

I had one in early 1993. It worked great. Never dropped a call.
  9. A Century of Naval Aviation

Thanks for the retro Orion shot. Going off what was available online, I got the impression none had showed. Glad you made it. I wanted to go, but we're in an ORE and I got stuck here. -Jeff
  10. Ditto. But with a stock install. I just chalked it up to "another graphic enhancement" that my video card could handle.
  11. A Century of Naval Aviation

I've looked through the pictures posted over at Fencecheck and was a bit disapointed in the lack of variety. Most units opted for the Pacific blue schemes. I was really hoping to see an Atlantic ASW grey scheme. Additionally, none of the special marked P-3s showed up. All in all, it was still awesome. -S
  12. I'm back from the cold.............

Yep, what he said! An "assignment" huh? -S
  13. A Century of Naval Aviation

First off, Happy Birthday! Second, I've been following this and the paint schemes that have shown up are awesome. Most are WWII era, but a few have gotten the 1930s colors. Can't wait to see the pics that will undoubtedly come forth. -Storm
  14. I think you are correct in your thinking. Instead of damaging components and degrading systems, the stock models seem to be "all or nothing". Rarely are you lucky enough to just take some damage from a SAM. They either hit you and you explode, or miss and you get nothing. Proximity explosions are not modelled? Against small AAA, I will actually get take damage and live to fly home. Anything larger and it's kaboom! I've read that someone here at CA "hardened" their vehicles to allow for more than 1 hit to kill it. -S
  15. Never flew in a Phantom, but did sit in the old RF-4C that was stashed out in a HAS at Ramstein. That looks about right. Nice work! -S
  16. Yeah, no joke. I think it's even larger than the standard Russian-built SMT spine. What is really evident in this pic, is the lack of visibility the pilot has. His head is just above the canopy rails. -S
  17. USMC Korean Air War Night Fighters

    Downloading now. Thanks Lou -Jeff
  18. Since the Expansions, I've noticed a large loss in FPS when the TV/FLIR screen comes on. I thought it might just be a MOD messing things up, but on a stock install, I'm still slowing way down. Any ideas? -S
  19. Thanks Eric, but this didn't help. I'm using a stock F-16A Netz and it did not have the TV listed under the RadarMode. I've tried changing the bmp to a tga, adding it directly to the cockpit folder an many other various edits. It seems that something was done to this feature in the patches. I just can't figure out what. Maybe I'll just take a break from the TW sims for a long while. Thanks. Jeff
  20. Gaming laptop?

So I've begun my search for a new laptop, but am disappointed with the results. Of course I've looked at Alienware, but since Dell bought them, their quality seems to have gone down. I've read some pretty horrific reviews about defective parts or low quality components. Then there is Asus. Great reviews, but well out of my price range. I guess I could sell some blood or take up man-shoring to bring in some extra cash.
  21. Gaming laptop?

Thanks again for all the input. As FC said, I do travel a lot, so this is something I'd like to have. The M11x sounds awesome. Dave I'll call you and ask some questions in regards to the processor differences. Jeff
  22. Abu Nakhlah Airbase, gotcha! Thanks again.
  23. Love the new terrain. Thank you Michael. I've looked for the Al Udeid AB entry, but could not find it. I see that the base is there though. Maybe a different name? -S
  24. Happy Birthday ST0RM

Thanks all. 38 years...Wow! Our storm has passed, so we get some sun and COLD temps, with a bunch of snow. But I'll be in the vault all day :( Cheers! Jeff
