Falcons escorting the Phalcon What program are you guys using to capture such crisp screenshots? -

Problem with key combination

Get rid of the AIRCRAFTOBJECT.ini file. It's causing the error and no longer needed. -
Feb 2010 patch bug?
ST0RM replied to ziker's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
Doesnt work for me either. -S -
I've added the TA-4H and KC-130H (Del's new SF2 ver) but for some reason, the game won't allow me to fly them to their full dates available. I've checked the Option.ini but it is different from SF1 and only lists one mission with dates. Also, my SquadronList.ini will not list any additional IDF unit that I added at the end of the list. Of course they are in correct number sequence, but it's still odd. Any ideas? -S

A little A/R test flight. -
Kirk Olsson's USVIPER has had Aviano AB skins made for it. In fact, you can't got wrong with any of his work. Mirage F1, Etendard, F-86. All top notch. For the F-104, CaptainSim has a payware available. EF-2000, I think the DSB one of freeware, but not positive if it's FSX capable. That should get you started. There is an outstanding F-14D for the FSX Acceleration. Go to Flightsim.com, register (it's free) and do some searching. -S

Just when you thought you had caught up...
ST0RM replied to FastCargo's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
"Moved cockpits"? Now that makes a bit of sense. I added the MF RF-4E IDF pack to SF2:I and had to make adjustments to the cockpit view. Was as simple as using the default values, but was wondering why it was off. Luckily I've yet to make any huge mods to the sim, so this patch add-on should go easy. -S -
When I reinstalled MSFS2004 I lost my TIR support for the game. So, wanting to use it again, I followed the manual and reinstalled the most current software, ver 3.13 Well, prior to the reinstall the unit was working fine and tracked my head movements. After, nada. The software won't even recognize the unit, despite Windows seeing it fine. So, does anyone have their old disk lying around. I don't believe that the TIR unit is dead, I think it's a software issue. So, if you've got NP software and drivers, please let me know. Thanks! -S P.S. This thing has worked great, so I've stuck with it.

TU-22M By BlackFly
ST0RM replied to Dave's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
The M3 Backfire is one of my favorite Russian aircraft. It's just a good looking jet and damn fast. Hope to see it in-game. -S -
JM, No, I ran through the whole deal by uninstalling and removing the reg entries for the NP software as per the norm. Them restarted and reinstalled the 3.13 software (yes for XP). Prior to that, the head unit would work. Since the reinstall, the software won't connect to the unit, despite Windows seeing it and saying it's working fine. I think when I plug in the unit via USB, then auto driver download it does is porked and prevent the software from correctly seeing the unit. Follow me? I even got a reedit bat file from Vincent at NP, but I don't think that is the issue. Something about the new driver is downloads from NP. -S

AI Issue that needs a fix.
ST0RM replied to Spectre_USA's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
I'd like for them to stop dropping their entire load of bombs on the first target. Strikes are ok, but for CAS or SEAD, they are useless after one pass and then go to guns as you've mentioned to pick up ay additional targets. -S -
JUst how much money does one have to throw at FSX to get a decent frame rate?
ST0RM replied to PinkPanther's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator
Like Vista, FSX is a huge disapointment. The amount of computing power to get it to run decently is beyond ridiculous. I went back to FS9 after trying to get FSX tweaked enough to run decently, and failed. -S -
According to several ex-Pat Iraqis, they did have WMDs and were flown out on civil aircraft to neighboring countries and further on. Depends on who's PoV you choose to believe. -S

I'm nearly 100% positive that Lucas used both of those movies as inspiration for the Death Star trench scene. Hopefully Peter Jackson is still on track to make the Dambusters movie and I'd love to see an updated 633 Sqn, although finding flyable Mossies would be a real task. Man, see what you've started? Off to pull out my copies of both movies for a weekend marathon. -S

SF2E: How dark should night be?
ST0RM replied to HockeyCoach's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 2 Series - General Discussion
In the early days of SFP1, the night was too dark and TK was asked to lighten it a bit. You couldn't see any terrain or much of anything else for bombing, etc. The current is a decent compromise, IMO. -S -
The French AF maintain their boom currencies, despite being probe/drogue only. The Turks and Sings also have KC-135Rs and do refuel using the boom. I'm fully MPRS and drogue certified, so the ability to chuck out some hoses would be snap. Especially from an Il-78. -S

The Gunslinger's CO is a female also. Nice pics!
-
Ditto, very nice images. I wonder if the RusAF would allow a cross-flow USAF boom operator. Talk about the mother of all Joint-assignments.

Imagine that. I wonder if they'll threaten to sue again.

Hence why we've been homeschooling for the past 5 years. At least there I know that we can say "Under God" during the daily Pledge of Allegiance and not be punished.

No, I got yanked off of the Red Flag trip. So yes, no fair.

Thanks fellas. Sitting here in the office, Eval'ng a base exercise. I'd rather be flying ;) -S

The first picture is not the F-22, but the proposed F-35C.
