2 new flight crew positions opening up
ST0RM replied to Typhoid's topic in Military and General Aviation
BS. They were using the onboard wireless server to play WoW -
You have the prototype AT-6B headed your way from Beech Field. Flightaware has it landing around 1630EST.

I have an idea for yous modder types
ST0RM replied to Caveman's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
The Block 40/42 were known as the F-16CG/DG and were tasked with precision strike. The Block 50/52 were the F-16CJ/DJ and had the SEAD/DEAD mission. Now, after the Common Configuration Implementation Program (CCIP) updates to Blk40-52 F-16s, they are all listed as F-16CM/DM. CCIP is very similiar to the European MLU upgrade. Color displays, Link-16, etc. One of the highlights was giving the Blk50/52 the ability to carry out precision strike, along with SEAD by allowing the HTS pod to be carried with the SNIPER/LITENING on the chin stations. The HTS was moved to the left. -

The ANG F-16s have been carrying the TARS pod for some time now. Here is a list of the units that are assigned the mission: 192nd FW Richmond, VA 149th FS 127th W Selfridge ANGB, MI 107th FS 181st FW Terre Haute, ID 113th FS 113th FW Andrews AFB,MD 121st FS 185th FW Sioux City, IA 174th FS The pod is carried on the centerline station. I've seen it with and without the LITENING pod. But it did carry as a minimum, a pair of GBU-38/12, plus wing tanks and a pair of AIM-9s on the tip stations. It was paired with another F-16 who carried a larger bomb load and targeting pod. -S -

KB, your work on the radars and the CM pods freq/bands sounds like an interesting mod. As soon as I finish the Unicode updates, I may try this myself. I just came back from 2 weeks in Cairo. Had a blast refueling the EAF. Wish their Phantoms would have showed up though. -Jeff -

What game are you playing?
ST0RM replied to xclusiv8's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
WoI and FE. Still getting my SF2E tweaked with the Unicode. -
We spent the last couple of days in Cairo at the open air market. The other tourists were taking all kinds of photos, as were we. But I jumped into several and "photo bombed" them. It's so funny. Better back in the days of film. "Who the hell is that guy?"

Having just spent the last 2 1/2 weeks in Egypt, this date was on my mind as well. S!

OK, Where is the EAW Combat Ace Forum?
ST0RM replied to Col. Gibbon's topic in EAW - General Discussions
I played EAW for years and sad when I couldn't run it on newer computers. Now, I don't even have a copy. It's great to see that it's still going strong and being updated as much as can be. Maybe it's time to revisit? Where can disks be found nowadays? eBay? -

Ahit vs. Ayit
ST0RM replied to guyran's topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - General Discussion
Guys, I understand that this is important to you, but in the big picture, it is something that can be fixed with one minor text edit. As was said, it may or may not be fixed in a larger patch. There are more things that needs to be fixed from day 1. But it is nice to get the correct spelling. -S -
Impressive, isn't it? Nice change from seeing a C-5 or C-17. Makes any aviation buff smile.

Congrats Nesher! Well done.

The look on the co-anchor was pretty awesome.

I saw it hangared at Duxford back in 2007. It was such a beautiful looking aircraft, even on the ground. Would have been great to hear that engine live. Thanks for posting.

I feel for ya. That sounds like another BS policy from some REMF General who probably got promoted over it. Since it was dated from 2007, your admin section should have notified you of the change in policy and those with accrued leave, to take it or lose it. My Commander emailed me just this week to let me know that I was sitting on 84 days of leave and how I intend to use it before October 1st. I'm reenlisting tomorrow, so I'm selling back 35 days. And yes, I know it's better to use it, but I'm deployed or on the road 220+ days a year, so it's tough to do. Hope you get it all straightened out. -S

They've had better weather in the UK than we've had in Kansas over the past few weeks. Plus they're photog friendly.

Looking for some old skins
ST0RM posted a topic in Thirdwire: Strike Fighters 1 Series - Mods/Skinning Discussion
I lost Gigs of files to an external HD failure a few months back. And so I'm trying to rebuild some of the lost skins. A few of them I need are the USAFE F-4E skins and the 58th TFS "Gorillas" skin for the Phantom. It was marked up as 362, one of the jets Steve Ritchie scored kills in. Does someone have these? Thanks. -S -

Thanks Dave. That why I couldn't find it. Wasn't looking for a whole aircraft. -Jeff
