  1. I'm tweaking the SA-8 based on some new data I recently read. I've kept it as a Mobile_SAM, but it won't show up. When changed to Mobile_AAA, it shows up, tracks me, but won't fire. BTW, I've copied it all over to SF2 from SF2E. Could it be it's only coded for SF2E? -S
  2. File Name: RA-5C Vigalante SF2 V1.1 File Submitter: ST0RM File Submitted: 1 Aug 2009 File Updated: 5 Aug 2009 File Category: SF2 Series Add On Aircraft Ver. 1.1 Adjusted the nose gear strut to get rid of the bouncing nose gear and stance. And fixed the Engine2 ID to make the gauges display the correct data. Click here to download this file
  3. Wasn't aware of that one. Is it the same as the F-15 where it only reads 99 miles and below?
  4. This is true. By going generic on some decals, you can and will cut down on your install size by re-using them by multiple skins. But this only works for common decals like insignia or some tail markings and numbers. When you start doing specific serial numbers for unit aircraft, you are back to doing multiple folders within the DECAL main directory. Speaking of decals/numbers, etc... Any notice that once again nearly all of the SF2V USN aircraft are missing their BuNos for the tail? Same problem that the F-4M and Hunters have in SF2E.
  5. Where? I'm still running a 512Mb card from two years ago. I'd like to give myself a welcome home present in a couple of weeks.
  6. The redundant D folder inside the skin folder can be deleted. The game only looks for decals when placed inside the Decals/XXX/XXX directory.
  7. I'm one of the people who have to see it, versus read it. Nice visual presentation. I've noticed on my low-end laptop, I can run SF2V on medium-high settings at the highest res and I get about 15FPS. Smooth enough for game play, until Stary's effects kick in when an AI flight lets go of a stick of Mk.82s. I've got Green Hell 2 trees added as well. Now with SF2E, I've got to turn it way down. I've got the forest/trees add-on. Medium settings with med. res and I still get more stuttering. Each game runs things a bit differently with each release.
  8. One less MIA

    Finally, closure.
  9. I look forward to building a custom install so that I can take advantage of the fine work that you've put into these enhancements. Thank you. -S
  10. For the same reason you currently are still using it, I'll hang onto the disks. For the multi-play. A stock WoX is still good for that.
  11. Uninstalled WoE from my laptop last night. Was the last of the legacy TW sims installed. Freed up 7Gigs of space also.
  12. who says you cant?

Id love to own one of those. VFR, stick and rudder flying is the only way to go.
  13. It pays be be a pilot....

    You're a pilot?
  14. I liked the way the F-32 would have looked after the redesign. It would be doubtful though that Boeing would have delivered their's on time and on budget, either. -S
  15. Gun Jams

Same for the A-4. I seem to jam the 20mms after just a few quick bursts, so I try to keep the jet level when firing as a precaution. I'll note my speed next time.
  16. T-38 stuff?

    FC, Sword just announced a 1/48 and 1/72 T-38C for this year. http://www.hyperscale.com/2009/reviews/kit...previewbg_1.htm -S
  17. Reduce main rotor diameter to 8.0 and they will spin. Should be the Engine3 in the data.ini
  18. I've modded the SF2E 1979 campaign with new aircraft to enhance and accurize (my own word) the default. I've added some new skins, but when the AI fly them, the tail numbers won't appear. On the F-111E that I'm flying, the same thing happens. No tail numbers. I've looked at each .lst and some had them in the 6 digit format (XX-XXXX) where others have them with only five (XXXXX). What format and where do these need to be to get them working? Thanks!
  19. KB, thanks! That did it. That line entry was completely missing from all of the aircraft in the CampaignE2 and probably in the others as well. -S
  20. Yes, I've got the decals in the correct folder. It's the number list that isn't working.
  21. SP is the tailcode for Spangdahlem. And yes, the F-4E ARN-101 (early) is from the 480th TFS at Spang. The 23rd, 480th, and 81st were all assigned to the 52nd TFW and had the SEAD Hunter/Killer mission. The 86th TFW at Ramstein were OCA/DCA and strike. Zweibrucken had the recce mission with the RF-4C. In my mod, I moved the Harriers to the highway strip bases and made them CAS and recce (armed) only. As you observed, SEAD is a bad mission for them against a sophisticated IADS. I added the MF Jag also. Uploading one's personal mod to a campaign is nice, but forces the user to download many new aircraft, unless you use all stock. I think providing threads like this are more useful to show them what units to correct, add or delete for accuracy. Good luck.
  22. I've modded and lengthened my own '79 campaign to include more aircraft types and real units. IMO, there were too many F-15 units and not enough USAFE F-4E squadrons. The 512th and 526th at Ramstein were completely left out. The 23rd TFS was wrongly placed at Bitburg instead of Spang. Plus they were made to be an F-15A squadron, but in real life, flew the F-4D, then F-4E/G. But correcting the ID number in the CampaignE2.ini file, will fix your problem and won't effect supply or mission priorities. That is all contained within the CampaignE2_data.ini There you can correct the home bases and adjust the mission numbers. Like I said before, this was hurried through or left over from the stock WoE campaigns.
  23. Stock SF2E only goes up to the mid-80's. The AIM-120 wasn't fielded until 1991-ish. As Silverbolt said, you have to add it via a weapons pack.
  24. His thread in the Mods section explains that he has made the engine pods visible from the cockpit. They were previously not showing. http://forum.combatace.com/index.php?showtopic=44856
  25. Just make the correct ID changes to the CampaignE2.ini If you want to move the units to their correct base, do it in the CampaignE2_data.ini TK must have been in a real hurry to get this out. There have been several missed things throughout the game. Nice catch.
