  1. Yes, me also. Maybe even the MC-130E Combat Talon I. I spent 4 years working on both aircraft. Great times.
  2. F-35 too loud

Ironically, Valparaiso, Niceville, Destin, and the other towns surrounding Eglin and Hurlburt only exist because of Eglin AFB. Many of the people who live there, are retirees. The base has been there since the 30s. The towns have built right up to the approach/departure corridors to the runways and then have the nerve to gripe about noise. Amazing. The house I own right now, I bought because it was close to my base. I see and hear my jets fly over all the time. Granted it's not F-15s, but 4 CFM-56s make a nice roar going over.
  3. Another little simmer has entered Combatace

    Congrats on the new addition.
  4. anybody watch Band of Brothers TV show

    Yeah, you missed out.
  5. Eric, I've got my sounds set like so: 16bit 1 Channel (mono) 11kHz I've seen 22kHz work also. Jeff
  6. I'm looking forward to trying this one out. Thanks!
  7. AD-4NA, BuNo 126965

If you can score some pics of your own. Please do so.
  8. TCM Rulez!

You would think that AFN (Armed Forces Network) would show similiar movies on a day such as this, but no... The spouses can't go without their soaps.
  9. Yep. Why are your glove vanes pointed down from the intakes?
  10. Due to severe budget cuts and downsizing, there will be no additional aircraft available for quite some time. Sorry for the inconvenience.
  11. Typhoid and Vampyre will know for sure, but the AIM-54 was a fleet defense weapons to be used against non maneuvering bomber formations. Because of weight issues, you would only see a full load of Phoenix for photo ops. From what I've seen and read over the years, a mix of 4 AIM-7s and 4 AIM-9s or 6 Sparrows and 2 Sidewinders was a common war load. If you look at photos of intercepts, you see one, maybe two Sparrows and a single AIM-9. MATS the F-14 site The link above is an excellent source of Tomcat info. -S P.S. The Iranian Air Force claims several fighter kills with the Phoenix. But you need to take those with a grain of salt since records are not freely available. Tom Cooper's book on the subject is a consideration, but I cannot be 100% sure of the accuracy.
  12. I like the dark grey skin. Thanks. It reminds me of the HAVE GLASS mod on the F-16s. -S
  13. Great Toon

I loved that cartoon. I don't remember it being called the Yamato. I thought it was the Argo or something like that. 35 years... Is it on DVD somewhere?
  14. Memorial Day

MSgt William J "Scooter" Kerwood TSgt Howard A. "Howie" Walters Lost on 23 Nov 2003 in a MH-53J Pavelow over Afghanistan. And to all my brothers and sisters who have paid the ultimate price. -Jeff
  15. Mike, The F-4 drag chute was one of the initial features of SFP1, but it never materialized. In my search for the animation for the Phantom's wingfold, I tried all of the unused animations (using the 1-10). Through trial and error, I discovered the spoilers and hook, but never the chute door. Or even the wingfolds for that matter. Anyhow, when I activated the others, the animated parts functioned (opened) but disapeared. -Jeff
  16. You've done some beautiful work! Thanks.
  17. I havn't given any time to the F-16 cockpits. I'm working on something else right now that is a bit higher on the priority list. Plus my normal day to day duties. Sorry, but maybe "two weeks"
  18. Welcome Pap. We'll see what can become of this. Hopefully this is something we can do. Would make for an interesting twist. Start digging around the inis and see what can be changed. -Jeff
  19. I thought of something similar, but with tanks. Could they be made into usable vehicles by treating them as aircraft? Obviously new bases (like the highway strip) would be needed close to the battle as the drive would be too long. Are you heading this AD project up?
