If I'm following your initial question correctly, you want to know if going to a lower setting on the cockpit detail slider in the graphics tab, will increase your FPS, versus resizing each of the cockpit bmps directly? I actually was thinking of this last night as I'm running these sims on my laptop which is not a gaming rig. The other question would be kind of be the opposite. If you reduced the size of each cockpit bmp, could theoretically run the slider on the highest setting with good FPS? I'll do some tinkering tonight and reply with my findings. -S
  2. You dont have to reinstall for every mistake. Most of the ini files you extracted with the SFPE tool, you can simply delete them from the parent folder. Then go back into the cat file with the SFPE tool, extract it again and viola' you have a fresh copy. Should work for 90% of things and save you time. -S

  9. The only problem being that if you swap to the map view, the windloop will be started over, so you end up hearing mostly the same part of the radio chatter. Or has this been solved by the entry above? -S
  10. Reminds me of The Empire Strikes Back. The AT-ATs going after the generators and such. That would be a very labor intensive mod.

  12. Has anyone successfully gotten this gamepad to work with any of the Call of Duty games for PCs? I installed it, and it's showing up as a game controller and checks fine, but the game doesn't recognize anything when I try to program it to work. Any tips? Thanks! Storm
  13. KB, Capun's site has a Skyknight and I believe there are some of the later grey over white skins. With some ini tweaking, you could make a stand-in. But standoff jamming is still unavailable. -S
  14. The interest is there for the B-1, but it's suffering from some random CTDs on various maps. The -500 is available over at Capun's site, but you'll need to register and request his permission. The KC-10 is available in the ODS mod.
  15. As I understand it, unless the model has the extra aircraft built into it, then it's a no-go. Because the carrier isn't static itself, you can't add static aircraft like you can at fixed air bases. To answer your second question, TK has not released any paint templates for the ships. You'll have to work from the existing bmps. -S
  16. What about the F-15 Eagle? The A-model is nice, but if TK wanted to go the same route as he did with the Phantoms, he could bring in an early C-model pre-MSIP. Same goes for the the F-16C. Early Block25 Vipers would be nice for USAFE. -S
  17. Can you shed any light to rumor of West German RF-84Fs sitting alert, loaded with a single USAF Mk.7 nuclear bomb offset by an aux tank?

  23. Dogfights!

    Dogfights and Battle 360 has done quite a bit on the Japanese forces in WWII. Unfortunately though, Germany has done everything in it's power to forget the men who fought for them in WWII. They've even gone as far as removing Mölders's name from Jg-74, despite it being used as a memorial on a Navy destroyer, and an Army Battalion since his death in 1941. Much of what has been released and shown in books and movies/TV about the Luftwaffe, has been largely based upon research done by historians in the UK and US, so it is of no wonder why these shows lean toward the Allies. I'd love to see more on the WWII Luftwaffe and Soviet Air Force. -Storm

  25. AI planes at low level

    Wasn't on the side effects of this is that the AI tend to crash into mountains more? Or when you Alt-N, you port into the terrain more often? Something I recall from a while back. Good work though.
