  1. JSDAF Got a new one...

They took delivery of another KC-767 this week also. Watched it take off from the Boeing plant here and head West.
  2. Interested in? Heck man, he was there. Dave is LeMay reincarnated!
  3. Pick your divert base with the highest Per Diem rate, and drop on in. Mention the E-word to your friendly ATC controller and you'll have a very colorful audience upon landing.
  4. Guess who unretired...

    Arena league? Good luck.
  5. WTF is this?

Gotta love the tanker guy, Tom. Although we usually will say that we got up and took a piss and didn't have to use a bag, or fixed a hot lunch, etc, etc... Bill and John are awesome! Those other two clowns, not so much.
  6. WD My Book

Got one of these for Christmas. It's the 1Tb version. I'm curious what this software does for me and if I really need it. From what I've read, the HD does an autobackup if programmed to do so, but I just want to use it as a huge storage device. What do you think? Jeff
  7. WD My Book

Unfortuantely, I think I have to install the software to get the computer to recognize the external hard drive anyway. It's a 500Mb install also. WTH?
  8. Must have taken a few shots of the medicinal Jeremiah Weed. Drunk typing is not encouraged!
  9. cough, cough, PAVELOW, cough, cough P.S. Here is the link for Marcello's Mi-8s http://marcfighters.combatace.com/Aircrafts.htm
  10. Just an FYI and not a knock on your excellent model. This is for the F-16 or early F-22. It has the center ejection handle (for side stick aircraft) while the F-15/A-10's ACES II, etc.. have the ejection handles on both sides of the seat where the seat arming lever is to stay clear of the center mounted stick. Please keep up the great work!
  11. SAC is Back.

You could always contract out your lift. I know of a certain freight company that's always happy to carry stuff. Hell, our aircraft are even compatible with your KC-10 loaders... Of course, we'd have to buy a few MD-17s to carry the outsized stuff... FC
  12. Who wants a seashadow?

I saw the Sea Shadow once during it's trials in the SF Bay Area. It was pretty cool. The F-117 was still brand new to the non-black world, so anything "stealth" was an instant WOW. -S
  13. SAC is Back.

We're all split as to where we want to be. There are some of the old heads still around who say that being combined with the bombers would be good, but then again, we'd be stuck with that as our ONLY mission. So it's a double edged sword.
  14. SAC is Back.

Don't expect any tankers to make the move over to the new command. Despite our mission to support the bombers, AMC will not pony up any aircraft.
  15. Love the TSR2 Ant. One could go crazy thinking about "What might have been". Op Granby next? -Jeff
  16. Typically, 20 or so feet is the norm for me. I try and keep below any higher ground and then pop up at the last minute. -S
  17. Classic! On a similar note. On my last deployment, we were orbiting in our designated track over Iraq. It was time for our scheduled refueling with a pair of F-16Cs and we heard them on the radios asking the controller for a BRA (Bearing, Range, Altitude) for a us. Long story short, he got within a mile of us, but was looking in the wrong part of the sky. He queried the controller again, which was overheard by us and my pilot promptly replies, "look left and up". The Viper driver gives a curt "roger" and forms up. After we got him on the boom, I tell him we claim a guns kill on him. We all got a good laugh. -S
  18. Did a few times when out flying in the African back country at night. We made darn sure to stay within the rotor disk so the animals wouldn't get us. In the vid, note the co-pilot was a female. She doesn't have such a luxury. "We come in Piss" -S
  19. Thank you very much! Beautiful work.
  20. Great looking ACES II. Looking forward to installing it in my Vipers.
  21. Another point is that most low-level routes are VFR, so you use the "see and avoid" rule. Obviously there was a scheduling error for that route. We've had similiar conflicts along some of the local air refueling tracks with tankers and their receivers cruising along a track when ATC warns of traffic at the same altitude block, coming at them. It was another tanker with an AWACS in tow. Apparently the owner of the A/R track (the AWACs unit) did not schedule it for themselves because "we own it, so we shouldnt have to schedule it for ourselves". Duh... -S
  22. No worries on the animation. I love it as is. Was just curious if you had figured out something new. Looking forward to it. -S
  23. Best things since Track IR

There you go. Go and sweet talk the centrifuge people into allowing you to install a computer and play WoE in there. When they see you are pulling G, they crank it up a few notches.
  24. Are flight sims going out of style?

Because our ever-so-great media leads one to believe that only ground forces are involved. You do not hear about the air assets unless they drop and kill something/someone significant or one crashes/blows up.
  25. A definite thumbs up on this update. This brings the immersion to a new level. The sounds are spot on and well done. Thanks!
